Start with the degree you actually want
Computer Engineering is a named first-year Engineering program at St. George. The faculty describes study in digital systems, computer architecture, programming and electronics. If you like coding, look at the hardware and science requirements as well. Enjoying a programming class can be a good reason to investigate this degree. But it doesn't tell you whether all its required courses suits you.
The program lists software and computer systems as one focus area. Others cover hardware, networks and cybersecurity. You can also study machine learning and AI, or communications and control. That combination is useful when you compare possible routes into computing. You can build software while also learning how a physical computing system works. Read the required subjects before choosing only from a job title you hope to hold later.
Computer Science has an existing U of T admission pathway. Its application and later program rules are different. Electrical Engineering is also a separate first-year choice in the same ECE department. Engineering Science has its own foundation and later majors. These alternatives should be compared through their actual curricula. A shared word such as computer doesn't make their admission requirements interchangeable.

Keep all five Ontario prerequisites visible
Ontario admission requires the school diploma and six Grade 12 U/M courses. Five subjects are fixed: English ENG4U, Advanced Functions MHF4U, Calculus and Vectors MCV4U, Chemistry SCH4U and Physics SPH4U. Each required course needs at least 70%. Your extra eligible course completes the six-course requirement. A computer science elective doesn't replace chemistry or physics in this Engineering application.
U means university preparation and M means university/college preparation. The faculty's admission average is based on the five set required courses. Write those marks on a separate line instead of taking the highest six results from your transcript. The Top 6 tool can assist comparisons with other programs. But it won't reproduce the Engineering five-course measure or tell you your chance of entry.
The committee examines each Grade 11 and 12 result too. Its FAQ says that a corresponding Grade 11 mark can stand in while a Grade 12 result isn't available. It normally uses first-attempt marks for repeats. If a serious event affected a result, the faculty offers a documented special-consideration process. Ask about your exact situation rather than relying on a classmate's interpretation of how repeated courses are treated.

Interpret Low to Mid 90's as recent guidance
The official FAQ groups Computer Engineering with Electrical Engineering and Engineering Science. Its label is Low to Mid 90's. The accompanying text says admission consideration for Canadian high school applicants began in these ranges in recent years. The page doesn't name a single cohort year. That is the latest checked context, read October 13, 2026, rather than a confirmed grade threshold for Fall 2027.
A range is useful only if you keep its meaning. It isn't a published acceptance rate or a rule that everyone above one mark gets in. The supplement and individual grades remain part of the decision. The separate 70% course requirement describes eligibility in each subject. Don't present it to your family as the average normally needed for a competitive Computer Engineering application.
Compare your five-course record with the school's context, then keep other choices you could accept. If one required course is dragging down the average, focus your academic plan on that subject. If you are considering several computing degrees, compare their maths and science requirements now. Recheck this yearless range on November 1, 2026. A new official figure should retain its applicant group and year rather than replace the old range without explanation.

Finish the required supplement in the Engineering portal
The OUAC application begins the process. After the faculty receives it, you'll complete the Engineering Supplemental Application in its own portal. This includes your academic history, educational timeline and activity record. The faculty asks for two to four ranked Engineering programs. Computer Engineering can be one preference. But your other choices should reflect curricula you would be willing to study if offered them.
The current assessed Personal Profile contains three timed video responses. U of T provides a tutorial and practice questions so you can learn the format. The answers you submit must be your own. No person may assist in the room or virtually during the assessment. The FAQ also says not to use other applications or devices. A prepared script supplied by someone else is not a substitute for your own reasoning.
Your activities needn't all be technical. The faculty accepts employment, arts, athletics and community involvement alongside clubs. Record real responsibilities and provide a reference who supervised the activity, as requested. It doesn't ask for reference letters. No additional Computer Engineering art portfolio, Casper test or separate department interview is listed in the checked requirements. Use the Engineering supplement guide for the process and policy details.

Treat January 15 as more than a payment date
U of T's confirmed 2027 schedule lists January 15 for the Engineering application and the profile. Required Engineering documents are due then too. For early consideration, the faculty recommends November 7 for the application and December 1 for available documents and the supplement. Those earlier fall dates occur in 2026. Each checkpoint has its own task, even when several tasks share a date.
Engineering says it may take up to a week to receive an application from OUAC. Submit early enough to activate your access and complete the assessment before its deadline. Ontario schools normally send grades through OUAC, but a record containing study outside Ontario can require uploads. Check that the portal actually shows the needed evidence. A payment confirmation alone is not a complete-file confirmation.
Ontario admission decisions follow February, March and May rounds. Completing the early tasks can make a file available for earlier review, while the committee can still wait for more information. Other Canadian and international files use different timing. Early complete files have a response checkpoint by April 30. Later review can run into May or June. Keep offer deadlines at other schools visible through the Ontario application calendar.

Follow the curriculum rules outside Ontario
Engineering provides provincial equivalents for the senior maths, English and sciences. For Alberta, it lists Mathematics 30-1 and Mathematics 31, Chemistry 30, Physics 30 and English Language Arts 30-1. For British Columbia, the list includes pre-calculus and calculus as well as senior chemistry, physics and English. Use the complete entry for your province. A school diploma and an overall average don't show every required subject on their own.
The International Baccalaureate (IB) floor is 30 predicted points, excluding bonus points. Each required subject needs at least 4. For the IB Diploma route, the faculty accepts Analysis and Approaches HL or SL and Applications and Interpretations HL as maths options. It also requires English, chemistry and physics. Read the current subject-grade and diploma instructions before you send predicted results. The Applications and Interpretations SL course isn't on the Engineering maths list. If you have taken an Ontario course alongside another curriculum, disclose the full record and ask how it will be reviewed.
A Levels require at least three Advanced Level subjects, including mathematics and physics. Chemistry at AS or A Level is strongly recommended, with Ordinary Level chemistry required if you don't take it higher. The faculty recommends B or better and excludes C or lower in a required course. It reviews international applicants by their education system, regardless of citizenship. English facility and transcript requirements are additional checks, not something to infer from a passport.

Preview the hardware foundation and work terms
Computer Engineering's first-year list includes mechanics, chemistry and materials, calculus and linear algebra. It also includes Engineering Strategies & Practice, computer fundamentals, electrical fundamentals, dynamics, and an introduction to Electrical & Computer Engineering. These are required foundations around computing. If you dislike physical science, compare this with Computer Science. Both can lead to software work. That doesn't make their required courses the same.
U of T describes guided flexibility in upper years, with hardware, software systems and networks among the areas of depth. Ask which courses are required and which are elective. Interested in cybersecurity? Read the program rules for that field. Its name in a course list doesn't promise an internship. The program's examples of careers and past employers shouldn't be read as employment outcomes promised to every graduate.
PEY Co-op is optional. Its current structure offers work experience after second and third year, reaching up to 20 months across the work opportunities described. An employer must still choose to hire you. Plan housing, travel and degree timing without treating a future wage as assured income. Compare the published work-term structure with summer work and the co-op arrangements at other schools on your shortlist.

Use dated costs and a practical next step
The international 2026-27 approved amount is $72,860. For new 2027 entrants, the 2027-28 INFO column prints $75,770. U of T calls these planned fees for information only. Keep this limit beside the figure.
The checked institutional tuition report covers 2026-27, not Fall 2027. Schedule 2 lists Ontario Engineering at $14,460 and other Canadian residents at $17,730, and says it will apply in Fall 2026 and Winter 2027. The faculty finance page's table is still labelled 2025-2026. Incidental charges, residence and optional co-op costs are extra checks. Don't roll a prior-cycle tuition amount into a claimed 2027 total.
Engineering scholarships review academic performance and the activity information in your application. Wider university awards may require another form. Use the financial aid owner and residence information to plan these separately. Your next step is to verify the five subjects, then compare Computer's hardware curriculum with Electrical and Computer Science. Recheck pending 2027 costs and the recent grade range on November 1, 2026.
Some direct source requests, including the Computer Engineering program page, returned access blocks. The same university-owned content was successfully fetched through the web tool. That limitation is retained in the source record rather than treated as a fresh direct read. Applicant-specific portal instructions and future fee notices still require your own check. This guide doesn't predict admission, program transfer or a co-op job.
