Apply to the current Computer Science category
UTM's Computer Science admission category uses OUAC code TMX. The program page now lists the Bachelor of Computer Science. Your first-year category is the starting point, while the academic calendar sets rules for a later major or specialist. Keep those two stages separate when you compare offers. A general UTM admission offer does not give every student the same access to the Computer Science specialist.
You can select only one UTM admission category. The campus's program overview advises choosing the category that best fits your goals. If Computer Science is your main goal, read the current CMP1 entry rules before choosing another category as a hoped-for shortcut. The specialist rules have changed for new entrants. Advice aimed at students who arrived in 2025 or earlier can lead you toward courses that don't serve your own route.
St. George and Scarborough have their own Computer Science arrangements. The existing U of T CS pathway compares those campus decisions. This page owns the Mississauga application and its current later-entry rules. Don't carry one campus's supplement, course code or program guarantee into another campus's file. Use the Toronto hub to keep the campus choice clear.

Meet the English and maths preparation
For Ontario, UTM lists English ENG4U, Advanced Functions MHF4U and Calculus and Vectors MCV4U. You'll need the school diploma and at least six Grade 12 U/M courses. U courses prepare you for university; M courses combine university and college preparation. The program recommends Mathematics of Data Management, but it isn't one of the three required subjects. A coding elective doesn't replace either required maths course.
The campus's general minimum is 75% overall, calculated from ENG4U plus your best five eligible Grade 12 courses. English must reach 70%. The checked pages don't publish a separate numeric minimum for each required maths course. Don't assume the English floor applies to every subject. Required subject completion and the campus average rule are distinct parts of the academic check.
UTM can use a matching Grade 11 result where a Grade 12 prerequisite mark isn't available yet. It can make a conditional offer from the record in progress. It also reserves the right to prefer results from a single attempt. Keep all study history accurate. Use the Top 6 calculator as a planning tool, then confirm UTM's own assessment rather than claiming the calculated figure guarantees admission.

Keep the 75% floor apart from competitive guidance
The current Computer Science page publishes Mid to High 80s as its Competitive Average. That page doesn't attach the range to one entry year. We label it latest available, read October 13, 2026. The 2027-28 central bulletin also gives campus-specific grade guidance with a previous-year caveat. Neither source establishes a guaranteed Fall 2027 cutoff that you can use to predict your own result.
A 75% general minimum means you meet one basic campus condition. It is not the same measure as the program's competitive range. UTM says admission depends on competition and space. English and the required maths still matter, and the supplement is required. If you meet the minimum but are below the published competitive context, keep other computing degrees you would be willing to attend on your shortlist.
Don't choose the lower of two different measures merely because it is easier to reach. Record the minimum and the range on separate lines, with their labels. Work on school subjects that need attention. Recheck the program page on November 1, 2026 for more dated guidance. A higher average can strengthen an academic record, but no public range turns it into a promised offer or an acceptance-rate calculation.

Finish the mandatory written supplement
UTM requires a Computer Science supplementary application for this cycle. It appears in Join U of T after you submit the OUAC form. The official page lists a $52 CAD fee and February 1, 2027 deadline. It asks for one written response about achievements or experiences outside the transcript that show your interest and potential in computing. Use your actual experiences and write the response yourself.
The school advises a specific, concise response and says to prepare it offline before submitting. It also says only the most recent response is considered if you submit again. Those are process instructions, not a request for a long research essay or a portfolio of code. The checked page doesn't list a separate interview or Casper assessment. Follow any current portal instructions that apply to your own file.
The supplement page describes the response as something that can boost, rather than hinder, the application. That doesn't remove the requirement to submit it. It also doesn't excuse false information or replace the academic prerequisites. Keep a record of payment and submission, then check the portal status. The assessed response should reflect you; don't use invented projects, employers or achievements to fill a perceived gap.

Understand the specialist guarantee for new entrants
The current calendar says students admitted in Fall/Winter 2026/2027 and beyond must enter CMP1 to apply to the Computer Science specialist. Its guarantee requires CSC110Y5 at 70%, CSC111H5 at 77%, ISP100H5, and MAT139H5 or MAT159H5 within 12 months of starting. The calendar also requires the relevant university credits and excludes credit/no-credit and transfer credits from its minimum-credit count. Read the full conditions together.
The major is different. Its calendar retains several pathways, including rules for high school entrants in other UTM categories. Those routes use different courses and annually set marks. That is not the same as the CMP1 specialist guarantee. External transfer applicants, including students from other U of T divisions, aren't eligible for the specialist or major under the checked Computer Science rules. Don't describe a transfer as an assured backup.
You may see older advice centred on CSC148 and MAT102. Those courses appear in older-cohort and other-route rules, but they aren't the CMP1 guarantee list for new entrants. Plan from the section that matches your entry year and category. These are current calendar conditions, not a promise that no rule can change before your second year. Recheck them before accepting an offer and before first-year course selection.

Apply by the right dates from your curriculum
The campus's Fall 2027 table confirms January 15, 2027 for the application. Documents and the Computer Science supplement are due February 1. November 7, 2026 is the recommended early application checkpoint. Applying on OUAC doesn't complete the supplement automatically. Leave time to receive your access details, read the question and finish all required uploads. Use your Join U of T checklist for personal document requirements.
Outside Ontario, UTM publishes senior subject equivalents. Alberta uses five Grade 12 subjects and lists Math 30-1 and Math 31 as the maths equivalents. British Columbia uses six academic subjects, with Pre-Calculus 12 and Calculus 12 or accepted AP calculus for these prerequisites. The campus states a 70% senior English floor and 75% general overall floor. Check your own province's exclusions and document instructions.
International applicants are assessed by their accepted school qualification and the program subjects. The central university page covers IB, A Levels and other national curricula. For science calculus, IB Applications and Interpretations SL isn't sufficient; the accepted calculus options are listed separately. UTM asks schools offering several curricula to identify the one you follow. English proficiency evidence may also be needed. Don't convert your international marks into a guessed Ontario percentage.

Separate the degree from the co-op application
The current calendar offers an optional UTM Co-op Internship Program stream, called UTMCIP, for eligible Computer Science programs. It requires its own selection and work-readiness tasks. The published structure includes a paid 12- or 16-month work term and normally extends the degree to five years. A Computer Science admission offer is not an employer offer or a guaranteed place in every later work stream.
The co-op office's program list explicitly covers 2026-27. Its course and mark requirements differ by program and cohort. Use the current CMP1 course list where it applies and recheck future eligibility before applying after first year. A separate co-op supplement is not the high school supplement due February 1, 2027. Keep those forms and timelines apart so completing one doesn't cause you to miss the other.
Read the program's actual study options too. UTM describes fields such as systems, robotics, security and human-computer interaction. These can help you compare academic interests, but named career possibilities don't promise a job. If co-op is important, compare the current calendar, added fees and work-term timing with other offers. Keep a budget that still works if your preferred employer or placement isn't available.

Budget for higher upper-year fees
The 2026-27 report shows first-year Computer Science entrants paying the general Arts & Science tuition: $6,220 Ontario, $7,610 other Canadian and $66,110 international. Higher program tuition begins later. The same approved report gives $11,640 Ontario and $14,260 other Canadian for listed upper-year Computer Science cohorts. Those reference figures are not a confirmed quote for your later 2027-entry years.
For new international entrants in 2027, the report's 2027-28 INFO column lists $68,750 for first year. U of T says these are planned fees for information only. Don't use an upper-year figure for an older cohort as your first-year price. Check the U of T aid guide and residence options alongside tuition. Co-op and incidental charges need their own check.
Your next action is to verify English and both required maths. Then select TMX, plan the February 1 supplement and read the CMP1 conditions before comparing offers. Recheck yearless competitive guidance and new fee approvals on November 1, 2026. Keep the Ontario deadline calendar for your other schools. No admission range or calendar guarantee promises a future co-op job or an unchanged fee schedule.
