Choose the category before the later Psychology program
UTSC places Psychology in the Psychology & Health Studies admission category. Its regular category code is TPS. The Health Sciences stream uses TXF and adds the Certificate in Pathways to Health Professions alongside an eligible degree. Both choices can lead toward Psychology. They aren't the same as a place in every later major, specialist or co-op program. Keep the code with the stream name when applying.
The current Psychology page names an Honours Bachelor of Science. The calendar describes a scientific approach to thoughts and behaviour, with research methods, statistics and writing. That is useful context if you're choosing the subject because you enjoy helping friends. The degree asks you to assess evidence, not only discuss personal experiences. Look at the course content before deciding that a program with Psychology in its name will suit you.
The U of T school hub explains the three campuses. The UTM Psychology guide covers Mississauga's entry process and school subjects. Keep the campus name beside each course list. For TPS, use Scarborough's own rules. Two campuses can teach Psychology and still ask for different school preparation. Read the rules for the place you choose on the form before changing your school timetable.

Distinguish entry subjects from second-year preparation
For Ontario category entry, UTSC requires the school diploma and at least six Grade 12 U/M courses, including English. U means university preparation and M means university/college preparation. English must be at least 70%. Biology and a senior maths are recommended on the program page. That is a different statement from saying you must already have both to enter the broad high school category.
The same page says Biology and maths are required by second year. The campus's first-year advice confirms that you need them to continue in Psychology or Mental Health Studies. The maths choice can be Advanced Functions, Calculus and Vectors or Data Management. If you can take Biology and an accepted maths now, that can avoid having to fit extra preparation around university courses later. This is a course-planning choice, not a new minimum mark.
Students missing a subject can have options to complete it later, but you should confirm those options before relying on them. The advising page names BIOA11H3 as a Biology equivalent. The current Psychology calendar names BIOA12H3 instead. Both sources are official, and the codes differ. Ask the department which current course or school equivalent will count. Don't enrol in a substitute based only on an older course code in a search result.

Keep the published range under its own label
The current program page gives Mid- to high 70s overall for regular entry and Low 80s overall for co-op. It places those figures under Approximate grade requirements. The central 2027-28 bulletin uses the label Approximate Grade Requirement and the same ranges. Its note says the measure is based on the previous year's admission average and can change with applications. No underlying cohort year is printed beside this category.
A range in a 2027 publication is not a promised Fall 2027 cutoff. The 70% English minimum is also not an overall offer threshold. Required courses, competition and space still matter. The Health Sciences stream can have its own competition within the category. If your marks are close to the published guidance, keep other Psychology routes on your shortlist and compare the actual subjects you would study.
Review an Ontario planning average using the Top 6 calculator. Check that English and all six courses have the right levels. Don't copy the result into a personal admission-chance claim. It is a way to see which school subjects need attention. Recheck the current ranges on November 1, 2026 and retain the published year and metric if UTSC adds more precise information.

Use the Fall 2027 dates and disclose the stale row
Apply through the OUAC Undergraduate application by January 15, 2027. OUAC is the Ontario Universities' Application Centre. The campus deadline page and U of T's central 2027 table give February 1, 2027 for documents. On the Psychology program page, the international Health Sciences row instead says February 1, 2026. Its application date and start are 2027. We show that mismatch rather than treating the older year as a current deadline.
If that international TXF row applies to you, confirm the personal document date in Join U of T and ask admissions about the discrepancy. The central and campus schedules support the 2027 checkpoint shown here. November 7, 2026 is the recommended early application date. The central site encourages available documents by December 1, while UTSC prints December 2 as its early document deadline. These are separately labelled instructions.
No Psychology category SAF, Casper, portfolio or interview is listed in the checked requirements. That does not remove the need for transcripts or language evidence. Ontario school results normally arrive through school reporting. Another academic history can require an upload or official delivery. Use the portal checklist and the Ontario university deadlines guide so that a program without an essay still receives a complete file on time.

Read the major and specialist as later decisions
The current major requires at least 4.0 university credits, including the introductory Psychology credit. Its first route requires 67% or more in each of PSYA01H3 and PSYA02H3. The calendar also allows another route: at least 60% in both introductory courses and at least 72% in two B-level Psychology courses. Those later marks do not replace the high school English requirement or describe a school admission average.
The school Biology and maths preparation, or accepted alternatives, also forms part of the major's conditions. You request a limited program through ACORN during the published program-selection periods. A specialist has its own conditions and greater depth of study. Read the complete entry for the program you want. Don't assume that one qualifying introductory result gives access to every specialist, honours project or advanced course in the department.
The calendar says Psychology and Mental Health Studies programs cannot be combined. Psychology studies typical thought and behaviour; Mental Health Studies focuses more closely on well-being and disorders. Consider which subject matter fits your interests before choosing a later program. The current calendar is a planning reference for a Fall 2027 entrant. Recheck its rules before university course selection and again before your actual program request.

Check co-op and research through the current calendar
The program page promotes Psychology co-op, and the calendar lists both major and specialist co-op options. Entry into a work stream and an employer's job are separate matters. You will have academic conditions and work-readiness tasks to meet. A co-op admission offer doesn't assign you to a hospital, clinic or research team. Check the actual program and the work-term sequence before making housing or travel plans around it.
The calendar places research methods and statistics at the centre of later study. It also describes supervised study and thesis opportunities with their own prerequisites and selection. If research interests you, plan the courses that lead toward it. That is more useful than treating an undergraduate offer as a guarantee of a clinical career. Further professional and graduate programs have their own entry standards and applications.
You can also consider Psychology without the Health Sciences stream. The stream adds a certificate and related coursework; it is not the only route to co-op or to later professional study. The Health Sciences and Paramedicine comparison explains those different options. Choose the academic and work arrangement you want, rather than assuming a health-related label guarantees a particular profession.

Match your curriculum without inventing a conversion
Canadian applicants outside Ontario should use the university's provincial subject equivalents. British Columbia's Anatomy and Physiology 12 can meet the school Biology role, while approved senior maths depend on the subject you present. Alberta lists Biology 30 and Math 30-1 among the corresponding subjects. Keep your full diploma requirements in view. A program's flexibility at first entry should not cause you to miss the preparation needed before second year.
U of T assesses the school credential you actually hold. It gives rules for IB, British-patterned systems, CAPE and national curricula. Check the subjects and records for your own school system. Don't turn your marks into a guessed Ontario percentage. You may also need proof of English skills. A school English course doesn't settle that check on its own. Read the test rules and the grounds for an exemption.
The Health Sciences stream is limited to high school entrants without post-secondary education. The Psychology page directs applicants with prior study toward its non-Health Sciences options. This distinction concerns academic history, not just citizenship. CEGEP students should read the campus's specific restrictions too. Confirm the correct stream before applying if you have taken college or university courses, including study outside Canada.

Keep the fee year visible and check your subjects next
Approved general Arts & Science tuition in 2026-27 Schedule 2 is $6,220 Ontario, $7,610 other Canadian and $66,110 international. The report's international 2027-28 INFO amount is planned pricing for information only. Approved Fall 2027 domestic tuition is not confirmed. Housing and co-op charges need separate checks. A campus cost estimate can include more than tuition, so keep its scope beside the amount you use.
The Toronto financial aid guide covers funding and the residence owner covers housing. Neither a potential award nor a hoped-for work term is confirmed money in your budget. Some UTSC web reads were blocked; the full official HTML was readable through direct downloads. Those successful reads, and the failed attempts, are retained with the source evidence.
Start by checking English and whether you will finish Biology and an accepted maths before second year. Choose TPS or TXF from your actual study history and goals. Set the January and February reminders. Ask about the stale international date and Biology course-code difference if either affects you. Recheck yearless guidance and fee approvals on November 1, 2026, then check the later calendar again before choosing university courses.
