Choose Scarborough and category TXC
Scarborough's Computer Science category uses code TXC on the Ontario Universities' Application Centre form, called OUAC. Its Fall 2027 page names the Bachelor of Computer Science, or BCS. The 2027-28 university bulletin uses that degree name too. Select the campus and regular or co-op option you intend. A university name alone doesn't identify the application choice or the rules that follow it.
The program offers a major and several specialist streams. Its specialist options include a broad Comprehensive stream, Software Engineering and Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning. Other streams focus on Information Systems or Entrepreneurship. Your first-year category gives you a route toward these choices. It doesn't mean all later streams have unlimited places or identical entry conditions. Read the current calendar alongside the admissions page.
UTSC is separate from Mississauga and St. George. The Toronto CS pathway helps compare campuses, while the UTM requirements page owns Mississauga's new CMP1 rules and written supplement. Don't copy UTM's supplement fee or specialist course list into this Scarborough application. Use the U of T hub for the broader campus decision.

Keep both maths and the English minimum
Ontario applicants need the school diploma and at least six Grade 12 U/M courses. U courses prepare you for university; M courses combine university and college preparation. The required subjects are English, Advanced Functions and Calculus and Vectors. Their Ontario codes are ENG4U, MHF4U and MCV4U. English must reach 70%. Data Management or a programming elective doesn't replace either of the two named maths subjects.
The checked program page doesn't print a separate percentage floor for each maths course. It also doesn't provide a new overall minimum apart from its approximate grade guidance. Don't import Mississauga's 75% general campus floor. You are applying to a different division. Keep the required subjects, the English floor and the regular/co-op grade guidance as separate lines when you compare your record.
First year includes programming, discrete mathematics, linear algebra and calculus. That helps explain why the school subjects matter beyond a checklist. Discrete mathematics includes reasoning and proofs as well as calculations. A strong coding project doesn't replace that preparation. Before changing your timetable, ask whether your required courses will finish on time and whether the university accepts any proposed equivalent from another curriculum.

Read the low-90s and high-90s figures correctly
UTSC lists Low 90s overall for regular Computer Science and High 90s overall for co-op under Approximate grade requirements. The central 2027-28 bulletin gives the same two ranges under Approximate Grade Requirement. Its method note says this measure is based on the previous year's admission average. It can vary with the applicant pool. The bulletin doesn't name the underlying cohort year beside the category.
These figures aren't guaranteed Fall 2027 cutoffs or your chance of an offer. The minimum 70% in English is a course condition, with a different meaning. Reaching that English floor doesn't turn a much lower overall record into the published competitive context. Likewise, a record within the approximate range still needs a complete application and assessment. Keep a shortlist of other computing degrees you would accept.
The Top 6 calculator can help you review Ontario school marks. Check course levels and keep required subjects visible. Use the calculation to plan schoolwork rather than claim an admissions probability. Recheck the campus guidance on November 1, 2026 for a more precisely dated update. If a new range appears, retain its own label and year instead of treating all published numbers as the same measure.

Apply without inventing a CS supplement
The current UTSC SAF list does not include Computer Science. Nor does the CS program page list a high school interview, portfolio or Casper test. This differs from UTSC Management and Paramedicine. It also differs from UTM CS. Your immediate work is to submit the correct OUAC choice and supply the requested academic and language records. An unsolicited essay is not a listed substitute for any missing requirement.
The application closes January 15, 2027. Documents are due February 1. November 7, 2026 is the recommended early application checkpoint. For available early documents, the central university encourages December 1, while UTSC prints December 2 as its early document deadline. Record both instructions with their labels. Sending available material by the earlier recommendation avoids needing to resolve that small timing difference at the last minute.
After U of T receives your form, use Join U of T to check the personal document list. Ontario school results normally arrive through the school reporting system. Other studies can need uploads or records sent by an issuer. Read the portal after applying, not just after receiving an offer. The Ontario deadlines guide keeps your other choices visible alongside this campus's dates.

Separate the current program guarantee from high school marks
The calendar permits a program request after 4.0 credits. Students in the CS admission category must pass CSCA08, CSCA48, CSCA67, MATA22, MATA31 and MATA37. The listed grade check uses a GPA of at least 2.5 across CSCA48, CSCA67, MATA22 and MATA37. It also requires at least B in CSCA48. At least two of the other three named courses must be C- or higher.
These are university grades. They aren't a Grade 12 cutoff or a reason to ignore the school application requirements. The current guarantee leads to specified specialist choices, including Comprehensive, Software Engineering and Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning. Information Systems has limited space. Entrepreneurship has a separate form and selection. Read the complete stream conditions before assuming that meeting one four-course GPA opens every named option.
Students entering other UTSC categories face different later routes, with limited places and no equivalent blanket guarantee. The admissions page also says CS is direct from high school only and excludes applicants with any post-secondary education. Don't describe a university transfer as an assured backup. Calendar conditions can change before your eventual program request, so recheck them before first-year registration and again before applying to a major or specialist.

Check co-op academic conditions and work terms
The current CS co-op calendar requires three work terms totalling 12 months. The admissions overview instead says two or three terms, totalling 8 or 12 months. Those official summaries differ. Ask the co-op office which rule applies to your cohort. Work-readiness courses and later grades also matter. Current co-op entrants and those seeking co-op later face different entry rules. A school co-op offer doesn't give you an employer's job offer.
The calendar allows the work requirement to be arranged through different term lengths. It also requires availability during fall, winter and summer, with a fall or winter work term. Summer study can therefore be part of the academic plan. Compare that schedule with your housing plans and responsibilities at home. Don't assume all paid experience happens in the summer break or that the same employer will hire every eligible student.
The campus admissions page describes sample roles and employers. Those examples help show what computing work can involve, but they don't promise your placement, salary or city. Ask the co-op office about current fees and course sequencing before budgeting. Later eligibility and employment remain separate decisions. If co-op is a priority, compare actual academic and work requirements across offers rather than comparing the word co-op alone.

Match Canadian and international curricula
Outside Ontario, use UTSC's province-specific diploma and subject equivalents. British Columbia's senior maths equivalents include Pre-Calculus 12 and Calculus 12. Alberta uses Math 30-1 and Math 31 for these roles. English remains a required subject with the published 70% floor. Check your province's full course set and any AP alternatives. A course with a similar title isn't automatically the accepted calculus equivalent.
International applicants need an accepted school credential and the required subjects. U of T's central page explains IB, British-patterned qualifications, CAPE and other national systems. For a science calculus prerequisite, IB Applications and Interpretations at Standard Level is not enough. Read the accepted maths levels for your credential. Don't turn your international result into an invented Ontario percentage or assume an overall diploma score removes the subject requirements.
Language evidence is another check. Senior English on the transcript and an English proficiency test or exemption serve different purposes. Your portal identifies the evidence needed for your history. Previous post-secondary study also matters independently of citizenship. The CS high school-only restriction isn't waived simply because the earlier study happened overseas. Ask admissions about any mixed academic record before choosing a route that excludes it.

Budget for the degree and make your next check
The approved 2026-27 report gives general first-year tuition of $6,220 for Ontario residents, $7,610 for other Canadian residents and $66,110 for international students. Computer Science has higher tuition in later years. Those older-cohort prices aren't a quote for the upper years of a Fall 2027 entrant. The report's 2027-28 international INFO value is planned, information-only pricing. Approved Fall 2027 domestic fees remain unconfirmed.
Keep tuition apart from the campus page's broader cost estimates, which also include other charges. Use the Toronto financial aid guide and residence guide for those decisions. Web fetch blocked some campus pages during this review; direct downloads of the official HTML were readable and are recorded in the source ledger. No missing figure was filled from a search snippet.
Your next step is to confirm English and both maths, then choose the correct TXC option. Set the application and document reminders. Read the current program guarantee before accepting an offer, and ask about any prior study. Recheck undated range guidance and future fee approvals on November 1, 2026. Keep enough room in your plan for another degree you would be content to attend.
