U of T Scarborough campus guide

Scarborough's campus tours introduce classrooms, study spaces, student services, housing and athletics facilities. Use that walk to locate more than your first lecture: identify a place to study, eat and spend time between commitments.

U of T highlights experiential learning as part of Scarborough's academic identity. If a co-op or other work experience option matters to you, check the specific program route and requirements as well as the campus facilities. A campus-wide description does not mean every program offers the same option.

UTSC lists three residence types: Harmony Commons, townhouses and Joan Foley Hall apartments. Harmony Commons has single and double dormitory-style bedrooms; Joan Foley Hall is identified as upper-year undergraduate housing. Check the current application information for the options that apply to your year.

Kitchen arrangements also differ. The residence overview describes first-year townhouse kitchenettes, with some stove-equipped placements depending on availability, while upper-year apartments have full kitchens. Compare the actual room type and meal plan before making a budget or assuming you can cook every meal.

UTSC Athletics & Recreation is based at the Toronto Pan Am Sports Centre on Morningside Avenue. Its outdoor Valley facilities are a separate destination off Old Kingston Road, where the university identifies fields and tennis courts.

If sport is part of your decision, locate both places on your visit rather than assuming all activities happen in one building. Check the current facility access rules, activity schedule and registration requirements for the sport or fitness session you want to try.

UTSC's commuting guide describes bus connections to TTC subway stations and GO Transit rail services. Use the guide to identify possible routes, then check the operators' current schedules for the whole journey from your home.

A rail journey can still involve a bus connection and a walk to your building. Compare the journey for early classes, gaps between classes and an evening club or recreation session. Include the return trip in your decision, not just the fastest arrival you can find.

UTSC offers student-led walking tours for individuals and families, plus a group-tour request option. Its tour page also links short student-led video tours, which can help you choose what you want to see in person.

Check the current booking instructions and meeting point before travelling. If residence is important to you, ask which housing spaces will be included. Use the visit to compare your everyday priorities and keep unanswered questions for the relevant admissions, housing or recreation team.
