About Stellar Advisers
We're not consultants. We're peers. Think of us as the big brother or sister who already got into a Canadian university and wants to help you do the same.
Our story
Stellar Advisers is an initiative of the Stellar Foundation, a federally registered Canadian nonprofit focused on expanding opportunity for young people. We started it on one observation. The most useful advice doesn't come from a consultant who never applied. It comes from someone who did it last year.
We came from the Caribbean to Canadian universities ourselves, so we know how confusing the application process gets. We also found that paid consultants cost a lot and rarely knew what the student experience was actually like.
So we built the thing we wanted. Verified current students at McGill, Queen's, Waterloo and Western, sharing what they learned while it's still fresh.

“We've been where you are.”
We mean it. Every adviser here is a current student who went through the application process recently.

Connected by one mission
Stellar Advisers is an initiative of the Stellar Foundation. The Foundation's nonprofit work supports young people across Canada and the Caribbean with skills, education, and mentorship. Stellar Advisers carries that work into Canadian university admissions.
The two programmes work differently. Both start from the same idea: young people do better when they have real information and someone they trust to ask.
How the relationship works
Two ways of doing the same job.
Stellar Foundation
A federally registered Canadian nonprofit supporting youth development, education, mentorship, and career exposure across Canada and the Caribbean.
Stellar Advisers
The Foundation's university-access initiative, connecting students with current university peers, admissions guidance, and practical application resources.
One shared purpose
Both exist to widen access and give young people the information they need to make a real choice.
How we work
Four things we hold ourselves to.
Peer support
The best guidance comes from someone who did this last year, not a decade ago. Our advisers are students helping students.
Authenticity
No sugar-coating. We tell you what actually worked for us, including the mistakes we made along the way.
Excellence
We want your application to be the strongest honest version of you. That's what every guide and every conversation is for.
Community
You're not doing this alone. International students here swap notes and talk each other through the hard weeks.
