U of T St. George Meal Plans and Dining Halls

At St. George, your residence decides your meal plan. Innis and Woodsworth have suite kitchens and no required plan. Oak House suites make it optional. Every other residence requires one. U of T Food Services runs all-you-care-to-eat dining at Chestnut, CampusOne, New College and Oak House, and Knox residents eat there too. Trinity, University College, Victoria and St. Michael's run their own plans. All prices below are for 2026-27.

Which residences require a meal plan

Accepting a residence offer at a Food Services residence automatically accepts its meal plan, and the cost is billed with your residence fees. The colleges that run their own dining set their own plans, prices and change deadlines.

How Food Services Access plans work

Access plans are all-you-care-to-eat. Each entry is a swipe of your TCard, and you eat what you want once you're inside. Unlimited gives unlimited entries. Access 14 and Access 10 give that many entries per week, reset every Sunday, with no carry-over.

Each plan also loads Dining Dollars for the food halls: $700 on Unlimited, $600 on Access 14 and $400 on New College's Access 10. New College's plans also add $50 in TBucks and a $150 non-refundable Capital Improvement Fund charge.

New College residents can use a few weekly swipes at other Dining Commons: up to five on Unlimited, three on Access 14 and two on Access 10. Access 14 and Access 10 have no in-and-out privileges, so each entry uses a swipe.

Unused Dining Dollars move to Campus Flex Dollars after the plan ends on April 30, 2027. New College says each transfer or refund costs a $50 administration fee, and balances of $50 or less don't transfer.

How the college-run plans differ

University College and Trinity use declining-balance plans. Your TCard works like a debit card and each item is deducted from your balance. UC's two plans buy the same food; only the starting balance and fee change. Howard Ferguson Dining Hall is on the first floor of Morrison Hall at 75 St. George Street.

Trinity charges each item against your plan at Strachan Hall in Trinity's main building or Trinity Café in the Lawson Centre. You can raise your Trinity plan between September 8 and October 31, 2026, but you can't opt out.

Victoria counts meals, not dollars. Burwash Dining Hall serves 19 all-you-care-to-eat meals a week. All-Access gives unlimited dining hall entries plus one weekday meal at Ned's Café. Standard gives 332 meals for the year. Both include 375 Vic Dollars. The change deadline is September 18, 2026, and unused meals expire in April 2027.

St. Michael's offers all-you-care-to-eat dining at the Canada Room and Loretto Dining Hall, run by Chartwells. The 5-day plan covers weekday meals; the 7-day plan adds weekend brunch and dinner. You can switch either way until September 30. From October 1, you can only upgrade from 5-day to 7-day.

Optional plans for commuters and suite residents

Food Services sells optional plans to St. George commuters and to suite residents without a mandatory plan. Access plans are prorated by the week you buy; the posted prices assume an August 30, 2026 start. Choice plans are declining-balance Dining Dollars. At a Dining Commons, Choice holders pay the discounted U of T door rate for that meal.

The main places to eat on campus

Food Services runs four Dining Commons, at Chestnut, CampusOne, New College and Oak House, plus three food halls. Chestnut and New College also welcome U of T community members without a plan at the door rate. Full Dining Commons service ran from breakfast on August 30, 2026 and ends after dinner on April 30, 2027.

Robarts Food Hall is on the second floor of Robarts Library. Sid's Food Hall is in Sidney Smith Hall at 100 St. George Street. MSB Food Hall is in the Medical Sciences Building at 1 King's College Circle. Food Services says the food halls cater to gluten-friendly, halal, vegan, vegetarian and kosher needs. How to pick the right plan

Start with where you'll live, because that sets your options. Then match the plan to your timetable, not your appetite.

  • Eating most meals on campus, including weekends? Unlimited, All-Access or a 7-day plan avoids running short.
  • Home most weekends or cooking some meals? Access 14, Standard or a 5-day plan usually costs less.
  • On a declining-balance plan, divide your starting balance by the days in the term. UC suggests about $30.22 a day on Plan A and $26.68 on Plan B.
  • Check the change deadline: September 18 at Victoria, September 30 at St. Michael's, and October 31 for Trinity increases.
  • Living at Innis or Woodsworth? An optional Choice plan can cover lunches between classes while you cook at home.
