U of T entrance scholarships for Fall 2027
Reviewed October 9, 2026. Amounts and dates keep their published cycle.
U of T Mississauga and U of T Scarborough publish automatic entrance scholarships by admitted average for domestic students. St. George has no fixed table: the top applicants on every campus are considered for President's Scholars of Excellence ($15,000) and U of T Scholars ($10,000).

Keep U of T award responses in your own authorship
The current National Scholarship page explicitly prohibits generative AI tools, including ChatGPT, from creating content for any U of T undergraduate award application, and says applicants who use them will be disqualified. Write the responses yourself and follow the current application instructions. A consultation can help check your eligibility and calendar; it cannot provide AI-written award content.
Start with your U of T campus
U of T doesn't have one entrance-scholarship ladder that follows you across all three campuses. Mississauga publishes a domestic admitted-average table. Scarborough publishes a different domestic table. St. George uses competitive university, faculty and college awards rather than a guaranteed university-wide percentage grid. A 92% result therefore doesn't support one answer to “how much will U of T give me?” Identify the campus on your offer, the applicant category and the specific award before comparing the amount with another university.
UTM's 95% band lists $3,000 in first year and up to $12,000 over four years. Its 92% band is $3,000 once, and its 90% band is $2,000 once. UTSC lists $3,000, $2,000 and $1,000 respectively. These are the latest published campus tables, which don't identify Fall 2027 as their entry year. The amounts are useful for planning but shouldn't be presented as guaranteed September 2027 funding until your offer confirms them.
Renewal at Mississauga is a separate decision
UTM requires continuous full-time registration in Fall/Winter, a cumulative GPA of at least 3.70 and at least 3.0 completed credits by the end of each Fall/Winter session for the renewable portion. The award can renew three times after first year. If you lose it in a year, the published conditions say it can't return in a later year even if your grades recover. A four-year maximum is therefore a conditional schedule, not money paid when you accept admission.
Repeated courses can also matter. UTM says it uses the first grade achieved when a course has been repeated for scholarship eligibility. Its admitted average isn't reassessed later. Don't assume that a higher final mark or a second attempt automatically raises the scholarship. UTSC's general admissions scholarship page doesn't state comparable renewal rules for its domestic bands. Ask the Scarborough financial-aid office about your particular award instead of importing UTM's conditions.
Two October applications for domestic nominees
For September 2027 entry, U of T's National Scholarship page identifies a school nomination deadline of October 9, 2026, an admission application deadline of October 16, a scholarship submission deadline of October 30 and a confidential reference deadline of November 6. You must first be nominated through the National Book Award process and apply to U of T to receive access through JOINid. A school nomination alone doesn't complete your scholarship application.
The award covers tuition, incidental and residence fees for up to four years at U of T. It isn't a published fixed cash amount. The same official page still contains an older FAQ about the 2026 nomination deadline of October 10, 2025. Keep that older FAQ separate from the explicitly labelled 2027 timeline and confirm with the National Scholarship office if your school receives conflicting instructions. Awards Profile and competitive automatic awards
The Awards Profile lets eligible Canadian citizens, permanent residents and protected persons in Canadian secondary schools provide information for awards based on need, leadership and other criteria. It's different from the National Scholarship application. The Profile page and applicant portal should be checked for the actual deadline; a generic February planning date shouldn't replace an account instruction. Submit the profile even if your automatic entrance amount already appears on an offer, when you're eligible for profile-based consideration.
President's Scholars of Excellence and U of T Scholars are competitive automatic awards, currently listed at $15,000 and $10,000. They aren't additional guaranteed rewards for reaching a published percentage. UTSC says its entrance scholarships generally aren't combined with other U of T scholarships. Keep the exact award names on each offer and ask whether amounts replace one another before adding them together in a budget.
International funding has its own award route
The campus domestic-average tables aren't the international award table. UTM's International Scholar Award lists up to $180,000 over four years, with other committee-selected values. UTSC lists annual International Scholar awards of $45,000 or $25,000, renewable for three additional years. “Up to” is a ceiling and doesn't mean every admitted international student receives that sum. Both campus admission files and continued eligibility matter.
Lester B. Pearson is another separate international scholarship. Its school nomination, U of T application and scholarship submission steps have their own Fall 2027 timeline. Check the official Pearson page rather than using the National Scholarship's domestic October sequence. Your school may need to nominate you early, so waiting for a final admission offer can close an application opportunity. Pearson and campus awards also have different selection and continuation rules.
Keep UTAPS separate from entrance merit funding
UTAPS is a needs-based planning route with a separate application through Need Navigator. An entrance scholarship doesn't replace that application or establish the amount of unmet need. U of T's Ontario financial-aid guidance explains that estimates and final aid can arrive at different stages. Build a budget with tuition, incidental fees and housing first, then record confirmed scholarships and any aid that remains an estimate.
If you've applied for OSAP, follow U of T's instructions about which awards the university reports and what you must report yourself. Ask the campus office before assuming you should enter the same university award twice. Save your scholarship notice and the renewal terms. If you change campus, course load or fee status, check the consequences before accepting a transfer or withdrawing from courses. Campus entrance awards aren't automatically portable across U of T.
Apply through the U of T process
Apply to U of T through OUAC. Automatic scholarships need no separate application.
Complete the Awards Profile in the Join U of T portal for awards that need one, such as the C. David Naylor University Scholarship.

Entrance scholarship questions
Does a 95% average guarantee a St. George scholarship?
No. St. George's U of T Scholars and President's Scholars awards are competitive automatic awards, not a published guaranteed grade ladder. UTM and UTSC publish their own average-based tables. A 95% result on the UTM table does not establish eligibility for a St. George award or show that multiple campus awards can be combined.
What happens if I lose UTM award renewal?
The UTM conditions require continuous fall and winter registration, at least 3.0 credits and a 3.70 GPA for renewal. They also say a lost renewal cannot later be restored. Ask the campus about your exact offer before reducing your course load; a later improvement in grades does not automatically reverse an earlier loss.
Is the National Scholarship application the same as Pearson?
No. National and Pearson have different applicant categories, nomination processes and deadlines. The National Scholarship requires the relevant school nomination and its own application steps; Pearson is an international-student award. Keep the application checklists separate and use the current official page for each award rather than transferring one award's dates to the other.
Should I count all four years of an award in my first-year budget?
Only count the first-year instalment as first-year funding. UTM's renewable award depends on later eligibility checks, while a one-time award ends after its stated payment. Record future conditional instalments separately and compare actual account credits with tuition, residence and living costs. An advertised total is not all paid at admission.

Most entrance awards use automatic consideration, but some of the largest scholarships require a school nomination, Awards Profile, or separate application. The official U of T scholarships page reports $55 million in admission awards and should be checked again before applying.

Fall 2027 scholarship deadline status
U of T has published the September 2027 Pearson competition: school nomination by October 9, 2026, admission application by October 16, 2026, and Pearson application and documents by November 6, 2026. The National Scholarship uses the same school-nomination and U of T application dates, followed by its own application deadline on October 30, 2026. The Awards Profile still gives only a typical early-February date, so verify that deadline in the applicant portal.
How to find and apply for U of T scholarships
“Automatic consideration” does not cover every University of Toronto scholarship. Use the route that matches the award instead of assuming one admission application completes every funding step.

U of T does not use one office for every campus, college, faculty, and funding type. Start with the route that owns your question so private financial details reach the correct university team.

University of Toronto scholarships for international students
International applicants are automatically considered for most admission scholarships, but campus, faculty, and named competitions can add a profile, nomination, or separate application. Follow the route tied to your admission choice.

- Submit the admission application. U of T says international applicants are automatically considered for most admission awards during the admissions review.

Engineering international scholarships

UTSC International Financial Aid Profile

- Complete the International Financial Aid Profile in the Join U of T portal. UTSC encourages this even though applicants are automatically considered for its entrance scholarships.

Lester B. Pearson International Scholarship

- Eligible international students beginning first-entry undergraduate study in September 2027.

- Secure the one-per-school nomination, apply to at least one U of T program, and submit the private Pearson scholarship application.

Scholarships are not the same as international need-based aid. U of T says it cannot provide direct need-based financial aid to international students as a publicly funded institution. Most scholarships also do not cover the full cost, so applicants need a realistic funding plan and must satisfy Canada's study-permit proof-of-funds rules. University of Toronto scholarships for current students
Admission awards are only one stage. U of T says Award Explorer contains more than 5,900 in-course scholarships for current students. The central 2026 in-course application uses MyAwardsHub, opens September 8, 2026, and has a published deadline of November 13, 2026 at 5 p.m. EDT. Academic divisions can run separate competitions, so check both the central in-course awards page and your division.
