U of T Engineering has nine valid September 2027 starts: the eight declared Core programs plus Engineering Science. TrackOne is paused for September 2027 and September 2028. Ontario applicants present five named prerequisites plus a sixth Grade 12 U/M course, rank two to four programs, submit the mandatory Engineering Supplemental Application, and pay the current $43.86 assessment fee. TrackOne is paused for 2027 and 2028 entry
Apply to one or more of the eight declared Core programs and/or Engineering Science. A later move between Core programs depends on first-year performance and available space, so it is not a substitute for choosing carefully now.

Fall 2027 application checkpoints
The supplement is mandatory and the current Ontario assessment fee is $43.86.
Public format descriptions conflict. Use the Engineering Applicant Portal for the exact timed-response structure.

Choose among nine valid September 2027 starts
The Core 8 programs are Chemical, Civil, Computer, Electrical, Industrial, Materials, Mineral, and Mechanical Engineering. Students begin in the selected discipline from first year. Engineering Science is the ninth start and uses its own accelerated foundation and later majors.
Do not reuse a September 2026 viewbook as an application menu. The faculty has paused TrackOne for the 2027 and 2028 starts. Engineering Science is academically distinct and is not a substitute for an undeclared first year.
Treat Core-program transfer as conditional
The faculty says students can still seek a move between Core programs. The result depends on first-year academic performance and available space in the requested program. It is not a guaranteed way to postpone the discipline decision.
Compare first-year and upper-year course maps before ranking choices. Ask the faculty how a switch would affect course sequencing, capacity, time, and access to the requested department.
Map all six Ontario Grade 12 courses
Ontario applicants present English, Calculus and Vectors, Chemistry, Physics, Advanced Functions, and one additional Grade 12 U or M course. The faculty says its published admission average uses the five prerequisites, but the wider academic record remains part of review.
Meeting the course set creates eligibility, not an offer. Confirm how U of T treats repeats, course timing, older prerequisites, and any study completed outside the Ontario system before relying on a calculated average.
Use grouped ranges only for planning
The current FAQ groups Chemical, Civil, Industrial, Materials, Mechanical, and Mineral Engineering in the high 80s to low 90s. It groups Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, and Engineering Science in the low to mid-90s.
U of T describes broad-based review. A range is not a cut-off, acceptance rate, or personal probability. Course-level results and the Engineering Supplemental Application also inform the decision.
Rank two to four Engineering preferences
The current supplement asks applicants to rank at least two and up to four Engineering programs. Use only the nine valid 2027 starts. Rank them from actual curriculum fit because U of T can consider applicant choice when files are otherwise similarly competitive.
Write a short reason for each preference using required courses, design work, laboratories, technical focus, and later options. This makes the ranking defensible without pretending that a conditional transfer will solve a weak first choice.
Complete the mandatory Engineering supplement
The Engineering Supplemental Application covers program choices, academic history, activities, and a timed Personal Profile. It is mandatory. Ontario applicants currently pay a $43.86 Engineering Supplemental Application Assessment Fee when applying through OUAC.
The public pages conflict on the exact timed-response structure. One description mixes written and video responses; another describes a different video-question count. The Engineering Applicant Portal controls the format assigned to the applicant.
Use December 1 for early consideration
The faculty recommends submitting the OUAC application by November 7, 2026. Its dedicated deadlines page uses December 1 for the early supplement and document checkpoint. One sentence on the Ontario page says December 2, so the earlier dedicated deadline controls planning.
Early completion makes an Ontario file eligible for the February or March rounds. It does not guarantee an offer or a February decision. Save confirmations and keep grade and document fields current in the Engineering Applicant Portal.
Protect the January 15 regular checkpoint
January 15, 2027 is the regular OUAC application, supplement, and document checkpoint. The faculty says Ontario files completed by then enter review beginning in March. Material completed later can push review to May.
Application, supplement, document, language, residence, award, and offer-response tasks are separate. Build a calendar from the applicant portal rather than assuming one submission finishes the entire process.
Understand February, March, and May rounds
Ontario secondary-school files are considered in February, March, and May. A committee can hold a file for later evidence, so no news in one round is not an automatic final refusal. The portal carries the authoritative status.
Compare any offer using the selected program, conditions, cost, residence status, and work-experience plan. Do not compare only the date on which another applicant received a decision.
Evaluate optional PEY Co-op honestly
U of T describes PEY Co-op as optional. The published structure can combine a shorter summer opportunity after second year with a longer 12-to-16-month term after third year, reaching up to 20 months.
A work term still depends on applications, interviews, eligibility, employer decisions, and market conditions. Compare the PEY calendar and fees with ordinary summer work and with alternating co-op programs before opting in.
