Ontario applicants need an Ontario Secondary School Diploma before classes start and are assessed on McGill's calculation of a Top 6 average from 4U, DU, and 4M courses. At least four of the six, plus every prerequisite, must be at the 4U or DU level, and no more than two 4M courses are permitted. Every program requires a core language, English or French, at the 4U level. Program prerequisites then add Calculus and Vectors, Physics, Chemistry, or Biology depending on the faculty.

There is no single McGill average. McGill publishes the lowest grades used for admission in the previous cycle, and for September 2025 the Ontario Top 6 references ranged from 78% for Agricultural and Environmental Sciences to 96% for Bioengineering and Mechanical Engineering, with Arts at 90%, Management at 93%, Architecture at 95.67%, and Electrical Engineering at 95.5%. McGill presents these as previous results, not guaranteed future cut-offs.

McGill reviews both the overall CEGEP R-score and a core R-score for prerequisite courses. For September 2025 the published lowest admitted values ran from 24.5 for Education and 25.0 for Agricultural and Environmental Sciences up to 33.0 for Bioengineering, Mechanical Engineering, and Physical Therapy, and 33.5 for the Neuroscience group in Science. Arts was 26.9 overall, Management 29.4, and Architecture 32.7.

McGill's Important Dates calendar publishes January 15, 2027 as the Fall 2027 deadline for applicants studying or last studying in an overseas or U.S. high school, college, or university, covering Agricultural & Environmental Sciences, Architecture, Arts, B.A.&Sc., Education, Engineering, Management, Nursing, Occupational Therapy, Physical Therapy, and Science. The standing February 1 date for Ontario and the rest of Canada and March 1 for Quebec CEGEP applicants are still published without a Fall 2027 year label, so confirm those two before treating them as the 2027 cycle.

The official McGill pages reviewed for this guide do not publish a single undergraduate acceptance percentage. McGill instead publishes previous lowest admitted Top 6 averages and R-scores by program, prerequisite lists, and decision-release windows. Use those, plus your program's exact prerequisites, rather than an unofficial acceptance-rate estimate.

For 2026-27, Quebec residents pay $103.92 per credit and Canadian out-of-province students admitted from Fall 2024 onward pay $432.85 per credit, which is the Quebec rate plus a $328.93 out-of-province supplement. Students admitted before Fall 2024, and French or Belgian francophone citizens holding a CAQ, pay $324.35 per credit. For a 30-credit year, McGill's own tables show $12,985.50 tuition in Arts and Science with total estimated fees of about $15,594.52 and $15,562.51, $15,748.80 tuition in Engineering totalling about $18,818.23, and $16,427.40 tuition in Management totalling about $19,101.21.
