Ontario applicants need an Ontario Secondary School Diploma before classes start and are assessed on McGill's calculation of a Top 6 average from 4U, DU, and 4M courses. At least four of the six, plus every prerequisite, must be at the 4U or DU level, and no more than two 4M courses are permitted. Every program requires a core language, English or French, at the 4U level. Program prerequisites then add Calculus and Vectors, Physics, Chemistry, or Biology depending on the faculty.

There is no single McGill average. McGill now publishes typical minimum Ontario Top 6 ranges by program rather than exact cut-offs. They run from the mid to high 70s for Agricultural and Environmental Sciences up to the mid to high 90s for Bioengineering, Electrical and Mechanical Engineering, with Arts at the high 80s to low 90s, Management at the mid 90s and Architecture at the low to high 90s. McGill shows no year for these ranges and says they don't guarantee admission.

McGill reviews both the overall CEGEP R-score and a core R-score for prerequisite courses. Its R-score minimums for September 2026 admission ran from 24.5 for Education and 25.0 for Agricultural and Environmental Sciences up to 34.0 for Physical Therapy, 34.1 for the Neuroscience group and 34.4 for Mechanical Engineering. Arts was 27.5 overall, Management 29.69, and Architecture 32.0. McGill says these don't represent the R-score needed for future admission.

McGill's Important Dates calendar publishes January 15, 2027 as the Fall 2027 deadline for applicants studying or last studying in an overseas or U.S. high school, college, or university, and February 1, 2027 for applicants studying or last studying in a Canadian high school outside Quebec, which includes Ontario. Both cover Agricultural & Environmental Sciences, Architecture, Arts, B.A.&Sc., Education, Engineering, Management, Nursing and Science. The Quebec CEGEP page lists March 1 without a year label, so confirm that one before treating it as the 2027 cycle.

The official McGill pages reviewed for this guide do not publish a single undergraduate acceptance percentage. McGill instead publishes typical minimum grade ranges and R-score minimums by program, prerequisite lists, and decision-release windows. Use those, plus your program's exact prerequisites, rather than an unofficial acceptance-rate estimate.

For 2026-27, Quebec residents pay $103.92 per credit and Canadian out-of-province students admitted from Fall 2024 onward pay $432.85 per credit, which is the Quebec rate plus a $328.93 out-of-province supplement. Students admitted before Fall 2024, and French or Belgian francophone citizens holding a CAQ, pay $324.35 per credit. McGill's December 2025 PDFs estimate a 30-credit year at $12,985.50 tuition in Arts and Science with totals of $15,594.52 and $15,562.51, $15,748.80 tuition in Engineering totalling $18,818.23, and $16,427.40 tuition in Management totalling $19,101.21.
