McGill University application deadlines for Fall 2027

An Ontario Grade 12 plan needs two application calendars if you want McGill and Ontario universities. McGill takes its own applications. Its confirmed February 1, 2027 deadline covers the main faculties in the Canadian high school event. These include Arts, Science, Engineering and Management. Music isn't on that list. Keep your Ontario university deadlines beside this page so you don't confuse the two systems. Sending an Ontario application doesn't complete McGill's form.

McGill's central page gives October 1 as the day you can start an application. That sentence has no year. We keep it as latest available rather than claim a dated Fall 2027 opening. Once you've submitted and paid, the McGill Applicant Portal shows your document list. Each choice needs its own completed application. McGill's Ontario page asks most eligible students to report their own marks and upload the report they used. Don't wait for an Ontario application to do this for you. The page gives an optional February 1 to March 1 period, then a required April 1 to May 15 period. These are yearless rules, not confirmed 2027 dates. If no decision follows the first report, you must send updated marks in the second. A 'Needs more information' label can mean that step is due.

The same page lists May 4 for requested documents, apart from grade reporting. That date is yearless too. Read your checklist before treating it as your final task. McGill warns that an incomplete file may close earlier if a program fills. For course choices and the grade rules, use the McGill Engineering guide. This calendar doesn't turn a typical grade range into a promised offer.

A friend in Alberta or British Columbia can share your February 1 application deadline but have a different grade-reporting plan. McGill's other-Canada page lists January 6 to February 1 for the first period. Its second period runs March 1 to May 1. Both windows lack a cycle year in the checked source. Keep that limit on your calendar until the new instructions appear. Don't copy an Ontario reporting reminder into a plan for another province.

The first period is optional. If you wait for the second, the page says you won't be penalised for that choice. If you use the first and don't get a decision, report updated marks again. There are exemptions from self-reporting, including some students with only one year of Canadian high school. Read those terms before assuming you must use the form. Your school history can change the document route even when the main closing day stays the same.

McGill's Important Dates calendar now names March 1, 2027 for CEGEP applications to the listed programs. CEGEP is the Quebec college stage before university. This new dated entry settles the general application year. It doesn't date every line on the Quebec requirements page. That page still gives April 15 for most documents without a year. Social Work has an earlier March 7 document line, also yearless. Track the form and the written material as separate tasks.

Nursing needs a direct check with admissions. The dated CEGEP event includes it on March 1. The Quebec requirements page separately gives February 1 for the B.Sc.Nursing application. We can't settle that conflict by picking the later day. Send McGill both source links and ask which date controls your route. Music is excluded from the general CEGEP event. Its own timetable applies even if your other choice has a March deadline.

The outside-Canada event confirms January 15, 2027 for the listed faculties. It covers people studying, or last studying, at overseas and U.S. schools. Citizenship isn't the label used for that calendar group. If you're a Canadian citizen at a school abroad, check that route. McGill also has a page for Canadian provincial diplomas earned outside Canada. It expressly uses outside-Canada deadlines. Its document deadline is March 1 without a year. Even with an Ontario diploma and an Ontario application number, you must upload your transcripts. If you're doing the International Baccalaureate diploma at the same time, the page tells you to apply as an IB Diploma student. Ask your school which educational background fits before submitting. An error here can put the wrong set of tasks in your plan.

The U.S. page confirms a grade-reporting period from November 15, 2026 to March 1, 2027. It separately lists March 1 for general supporting documents without a year. If you earn a U.S. diploma at a school outside the U.S., McGill tells you to use the overseas category. You upload records rather than self-report marks. The name of your diploma alone doesn't settle the process. Read the location rules before asking your school to send material.

For A-Levels and the Caribbean Advanced Proficiency Examination, or CAPE, McGill lists March 1 for documents. That line is yearless. The required records can include earlier exam certificates, school progress reports and predicted final results. CAPE applicants also send Unit 1 results where available. Ask your school when each record will be ready. A final result you haven't earned yet and a missing earlier result are different issues. Use your checklist to see what McGill needs for review now.

Global Engineering asks for a personal statement and strongly recommends sending it within one week of applying. That is a relative target, not a new fixed 2027 deadline. Education has language checks for some choices, including Teaching English as a Second Language, or TESL. The required test or exemption must be in before a decision. Social Work asks for a written submission and two references. Referees are asked to submit within ten working days of their invitation. Population and Global Health needs an activity list and answers to three essay questions. Use your checklist for the exact item rather than send a general essay to every faculty.

French proof needs advance planning for Dietetics, B.Sc.Nursing and the two rehabilitation science routes. McGill lists exemptions and accepted tests. Nursing, Occupational Therapy and Physical Therapy require B2 in each of four language skills if you need a test. This source doesn't publish one shared Fall 2027 booking day. Leave time to find a test and receive results. A language exemption still needs the signed declaration described by McGill. Being exempt doesn't mean you can ignore the checklist item.

Occupational and Physical Therapy also need Casper, an online assessment. McGill recommends booking at least three days before your preferred test. The last eligible Fall 2027 sitting isn't confirmed here, so check the testing schedule before assuming the application day is also your last test day.

Direct web reads of the supporting-documents page timed out. A separate read of McGill's official indexed text succeeded. Our source records distinguish that text from downloaded HTML. No personal application or checklist was opened.

Music's deadline page lists January 15 for the application, materials and recorded auditions. It still labels its opening as Fall 2026. The audition page has a Fall 2027 schedule, but no instrument has a published day in the checked grid. Don't book a trip around a date from an older intake. McGill says the portal will tell you your assigned time and place. Tell the Music office in advance if you need an audition accommodation.

There is also a recording conflict. The Music FAQ says February 1, while the deadline page and audition instructions use January 15. That FAQ even uses January 15 for recorded Music scholarship consideration. Ask the faculty before relying on February. General guidance puts live auditions in February and March and rolling decisions from early April. Those sentences lack a new-cycle year. You don't wait for admission to apply for a Major Entrance Scholarship. McGill gives January 21 for schools outside Canada, February 7 for the rest of Canada and March 7 for CEGEP. Its October 1 award opening and these closing days are yearless. The form and references must arrive by midnight Montreal time, which the page calls Eastern Standard Time. A late admission permission doesn't extend the scholarship date. Ask referees early enough to complete their own uploads.

The one-year entrance scholarship has no separate application. The major award does. Keep those routes apart when checking what you've finished. For aid options beyond the calendar, use McGill financial aid. An admission submission alone doesn't enter you for every award.

Need-based aid follows a different clock. McGill strongly recommends applying within 30 days of formal acceptance to the university. You don't need to have accepted your offer first. The application becomes available after McGill notifies you of admission. That distinction matters if you need the aid result before choosing a university. Count from McGill's formal notice, rather than from the day you decide to attend.

The bursary page still dates its opening November 15, 2025 and closing June 30, 2026. Those are the previous intake's dates. The general closing sentence also says June 30 without a year. We haven't turned it into June 30, 2027. Funding is limited and offered on a rolling basis until it runs out. Use the 30-day recommendation for planning and recheck the fixed new-cycle dates when McGill posts them.

The Downtown housing page says 2026-27 applications closed June 14, 2026 at 11:59 p.m. It prints no time zone. Last cycle it required a $1,500 deposit and a $35 application fee by the deadline. Fall 2027 opening and payment dates remain pending. Its guarantee also depends on age and first-year status, as well as accepting admission and completing the housing steps. Checking 'yes' to residence interest on your admission form isn't the whole reservation process.

Macdonald's page instead lists a $500 reservation deposit and a $35 fee. Those amounts are yearless. It requires room confirmation and payment to secure a place. We found no exact Fall 2027 day there. Don't apply Downtown's old date or deposit to a Macdonald room. Use the McGill residence guide to compare the campuses, then follow the right housing office. If you've missed a housing date, contact that office about space rather than assume the guarantee still holds.

The decision table is explicitly for September 2027. Ontario review starts later than overseas review, so a November offer abroad doesn't mean your Ontario file is late. McGill warns that competitive programs can take longer. The listed windows can change with space and workload. Keep checking your file for a missing item while you wait. Music uses its own faculty schedule.

For every school group, your acceptance letter gives your reply deadline. There isn't one shared date on the checked acceptance page. Reply and pay the admission confirmation deposit through the instructed process. That payment is separate from a housing deposit. If you miss the letter's deadline, McGill says your place may go to someone on the waiting list. If the portal prevents a reply, use its Get Help form and choose the offer-acceptance problem. Music directs these problems to its admissions office.

Check your school location and exact McGill program before you add reminders. For October planning, read the application steps and look for the tasks that need another person's time. That may be a reference or a language test. CEGEP Nursing applicants should ask about the conflicting dates now. Music applicants should ask about the recording date before scheduling their work. Save each answer with the source and date so you can compare it with the next update.

If you've missed a main application deadline, ask admissions about your precise choice and school group. Another group's later day doesn't extend your own. If a late admission form is allowed, keep the scholarship rule separate. Set November 1, 2026 as a recheck reminder for the pending dates on this page.
