Overview
Current applicant answer
UdeM admission starts with French, the applicant’s education system, and the exact program
Université de Montréal is a French-language university that accepts applications through its own system, not OUAC. All undergraduate programs are taught in French. Ontario and other applicants from 12-year school systems should not assume direct entry into the usual three-year Québec bachelor’s structure. The correct route may be an eligible four-year UdeM bachelor’s degree or the 24-credit preparatory year.

“Eligible” is not the same as “competitive”
UdeM does not publish one current university-wide undergraduate acceptance rate that can replace program rules. Capacity, applicant category, grades, prerequisites, French evidence, and any interview, audition, portfolio, or test determine the result. The Québec CEGEP R score shown on a program page is not an Ontario admission average.
Detailed application guides
Université de Montréal applicants need to choose the correct direct-entry, four-year bachelor's, preparatory-year, transfer, or university-study route; verify the exact program's French requirement and deadline; and budget with current fees and the official tuition calculator. This guide keeps programs, Computer Science co-op, exemption scholarships, housing, campuses, and international documentation on one canonical, official-source-backed page without inventing a university-wide acceptance rate.
