Course requirements from Ontario
McGill Management asks Ontario students for two prerequisites: 4U English or French, and 4U Calculus and Vectors (MCV4U). Both count in McGill's Top 6 average.
McGill calculates the Top 6 itself from six 4U, DU or 4M courses. At least four of them, and every prerequisite, must be at the 4U or DU level, and math must be from the last five years. Plan your courses with our course planner.

The mid 90s range
McGill's Ontario page lists typical minimum admission ranges for Management: the mid 90s for the Top 6, the low to mid 90s in your math course, and the high 80s to low 90s in your English or French course. They're ranges McGill has typically admitted, not a guarantee, and McGill doesn't print a year next to them.
For Quebec CEGEP students, the September 2026 minimum R-score was 29.69 overall, 29.69 in math and 26.0 in English. McGill says these values don't represent future requirements.
McGill doesn't publish a Management acceptance rate. Our McGill acceptance rate page explains what it does publish, and our Top 6 average calculator works out your average.

Applying from the U.S., the IB or CEGEP
U.S. high school students need English and pre-calculus. McGill's typical range for Management is a B+ to A- unweighted average in each of grades 11 and 12, with B+ in each prerequisite math and A- in each English. Typical test ranges are ACT 29 to 31, or SAT 690 to 700 in Evidence-Based Reading and Writing and 690 to 710 in Math. Submitting scores is optional for Fall 2027, and McGill says opting out may affect only the timing of a decision.
U.S. applicants apply by January 15, with documents by March 1. IB students need HL Math (Analysis and Approaches or Applications and Interpretations), or SL Analysis and Approaches with a 6 or 7, and typically 35 to 38 points.
CEGEP students need English 603 or French 601 and three math courses that depend on their DEC, with at least two finished before they're considered.

Dates and how to apply
McGill's Fall 2027 deadline for students at Canadian high schools outside Quebec is February 1, 2027, and it covers Management. You apply online on McGill's own application, which opened October 1. The fee is $140.16, and a second application for the same term costs nothing extra.
Ontario students self-report grades in the McGill Applicant Portal. The first window, February 1 to March 1, is optional. The second, April 1 to May 15, is required if you haven't had a decision. Supporting documents are due May 4.
Management isn't on McGill's list of programs that need extra documents, so there's no essay, interview or reference. McGill asks for your OUAC number only if you're offered admission.

How the BCom is structured
Every BCom student needs 120 credits. Students from high school start in U0 and complete the full 120 credits over four years. Quebec CEGEP graduates get 30 credits for their DEC and usually finish in three years.
Students admitted from Fall 2024 complete a 42-credit core curriculum, with a C or better in every core course. Everyone also completes at least 3 credits of approved experiential learning.
You're admitted as undeclared and choose your program of study, such as a major or concentrations, in U1. Specialized courses usually start in U2. The only BCom program with limited enrolment and its own application is the Honours in Investment Management, which students usually apply to in January of U1.

Majors, concentrations and minors
Desautels lists areas including Accounting, Business Analytics, Economics, Entrepreneurship, Finance, Information Technology Management, International Management, Marketing, Operations Management, Organizational Behaviour and Human Resources, Retail Management and Strategic Management.
A concentration is five courses in one discipline. In the General Management major, you take at least two concentrations, or one concentration with a minor from another faculty. You can study abroad at a partner school or take an independent study away.

Work experience
The BCom has no co-op stream on Desautels' program pages. Instead, every student completes at least 3 credits of experiential learning, where you solve real problems with industry and community partners.
Desautels lists options such as international exchanges, courses in international cities, the Honours in Investment Management, the Integrated Management Student Fellowship and McGill Not-For-Profit Consulting. Its career management centre supports students in finding internships and jobs.

Tuition and scholarships
McGill's 2026-27 fee table lists BCom tuition of $16,427.40 for Canadians from outside Quebec, or $19,101.21 with fees and insurance. International students pay $71,687.40 in tuition, or $75,321.21 in total. Both tables say tuition is guaranteed for the length of the program for students admitted in 2026-27.
If you meet McGill's minimum grades, you're considered for a one-year $3,000 entrance scholarship with no separate form. Major Entrance Scholarships of $3,000 to $12,000 a year need their own application, due February 7 for Ontario students. The $12,000 awards are only for Canadian citizens and permanent residents.

For parents
Desautels says the BCom has the highest admission standards of any undergraduate business program in Canada, and McGill's mid 90s range reflects that. Pair it with a business program that has a lower range.
McGill is a separate application with its own fee and portal. Your child self-reports grades twice, so watch the February 1 to March 1 and April 1 to May 15 windows.
