Huron programs

Huron programs and Western boundaries

Build a Huron degree path, then add eligible Western courses

Huron's catalogue focuses on Arts and Social Science, Management and Organizational Studies, and Theology. The affiliation gives you more course access and leads to a Western degree. But it does not make every Western faculty or service a Huron offering.

College status

Independent affiliate

Huron has its own governance, programs, services, and residences.

Degree conferral

Western degree

The affiliation agreement controls ordinary degree conferral.

Cross-campus study

Up to 40%

Huron’s published limit across most Western programs, subject to rules.

Read affiliation claims literally

Western gives the degree. Western sets affiliation-level academic standards. Huron is still the home institution for the Huron program, advising, awards, residences, and internship model described here. Ivey, Western faculties, and Western co-op routes keep their own admission and progression rules.

Arts and Social Science

Huron publishes 11 departments and 63 programs spanning economics, psychology, political science, history, languages, philosophy, global studies, and related liberal arts.

Boundary: Students apply to a general first-year area. A Huron program list is not the same as Western's full faculty catalogue.

Management and Organizational Studies

BMOS options include Accounting, Finance and Administration, Marketing and Sustainability, Business Intelligence, and Organizational Studies, Policy and Ethics.

Boundary: This is Huron’s MOS offering. It should not be described as every Western business program or as automatic Ivey HBA admission.

Governance, Leadership and Ethics

A Huron undergraduate program integrating organizational behaviour, civic engagement, ethics, leadership, and community-based learning.

Boundary: Its current page confirms a September 2027 start and 3.5- to 4-year full-time duration.

Economics

Huron Economics combines policy and quantitative study with exchange and undergraduate-research opportunities.

Boundary: The current page confirms a September 2027 start. Its exchange claims refer to Huron opportunities, not a guarantee of placement.

Religion and Theology

Huron offers an undergraduate Religion and Theology route plus professional Master of Theological Studies and Master of Divinity study.

Boundary: Graduate theology uses a separate application guide and must not be merged into undergraduate OUAC admission.

Western cross-registration

Huron says students may take up to 40% of their courses across most Western programs while remaining in their Huron degree path.

Boundary: Access is subject to degree, course, prerequisite, capacity, and affiliation rules; it does not make every Western program a Huron program.

Western degree boundary

The affiliation agreement provides that Western confers the same academic degree on eligible graduates registered through an affiliated university college.

Boundary: Huron is independent, but its ordinary degree-granting authority is held in abeyance under the affiliation agreement, apart from honorary divinity degrees.

Huron careers and co-op

Huron internships and career preparation

Treat Huron’s internship model as its own pathway

Huron guarantees students a paid internship opportunity and gives personalized career support. That does not create a formal co-op designation for every Huron program. It also does not move all Western co-op programs to Huron.

Career internships

Not-for-credit roles are part-time from September to April and can be part- or full-time from May to August.

Academic internships

Paid, for-credit placements can run 4 to 12 months for students in any program. This includes an optional year between Years 3 and 4.

Research internships

Huron lists Student Research Fellowships, Globalink research awards, and faculty-led research-assistant opportunities.

Guaranteed opportunity boundary

Huron guarantees students a paid internship opportunity and personalized support; specific employers, dates, wages, and selection are not guaranteed on the public page.

Career coaching

Huron Careers and Experiences helps students from first year through graduation. It gives one-on-one coaching and help with applications.

Not a universal Western co-op claim

The evidence describes Huron’s internship model. It must not be converted into a claim that every Western or Huron program includes a formal co-op designation.

What the guarantee does—and does not—say

Huron promises access to a paid internship opportunity. It also promises one-on-one preparation. Its public pages do not promise a particular employer, wage, date, job, or selection outcome for a specific posting.

Questions about Huron

Huron applicants should treat the college and Western as connected but distinct entities. Apply to Huron within Western's OUAC campus choices. Use Huron's Ontario, Canadian, international, transfer, mature, and English-language requirements. Remember that Huron admits undergraduates to general first-year program areas. The Western affiliation supports cross-registration and Western degree conferral. But it does not make every Western program, award, residence, service, or co-op route a Huron offering. For Fall 2027, Huron program starts are confirmed for September. The general deadline, residence cycle, award administration, and 2027–28 costs remain pending. Current planning should use the finalized 2026–27 tuition and residence PDFs where they conflict with Huron's estimated web tables.

Is Huron University College part of Western University?

Huron is an independent affiliated university college. Its ordinary degree authority is held in abeyance under the affiliation agreement, and eligible Huron graduates receive a Western degree.

Does Huron give a Western degree?

Yes. The affiliation agreement states that Western confers the same academic degree on eligible graduates registered through an affiliated university college.

Can Huron students take Western courses?

Huron says students may take up to 40% of their courses across most Western programs. Degree, prerequisite, capacity, and affiliation rules still apply.

What is Huron’s Fall 2027 application deadline?

It was not published on August 16, 2026. Huron program pages confirm September 2027 starts, but the admissions calendar still lists 2025–26 application dates.

What are Huron’s OUAC codes?

Huron publishes EHD for Management and Organizational Studies, EHO for Social Science, and EHA for Arts, within Western’s campus choices.

What does an Ontario applicant need for Huron?

An OSSD, ENG4U, and five additional 4U/M courses are required. MOS also requires two Grade 12 U mathematics courses from MDM4U, MHF4U, and MCV4U.

King's programs

King's programs and Western boundaries

A Western degree does not make every Western program a King's program

Western gives the credential, and its Senate governs academic rules. King's stays the home institution for the programs, advising, awards, residence, and career routes described here.

Institution

Western affiliate

King's is its own affiliated university college in London.

Credential

Western degree

Conferred under the affiliation agreement for approved study.

Social Work entry

Year 3

The EKS option is not direct first-year BSW admission.

Attribute every benefit

King's students can use named Western libraries, athletics, services, and eligible courses. Program ownership, prerequisites, capacity, and affiliation rules still control access; neither Ivey nor another Western faculty becomes a King's program automatically.

Arts and Social Sciences

King's offers humanities and social-science study in its own academic units. These include distinctive areas such as Thanatology and Social Justice and Peace Studies.

Boundary: The King's list is not Western's complete program catalogue. First-year admission is general, not direct to every module.

Management and Organizational Studies

King's BMOS is a King's program with its own published prerequisites and current MOS internship courses.

Boundary: It is not automatic Ivey HBA admission. It does not establish access to every Western business route.

Social Work

King's offers accredited BSW and MSW programs with substantial in-person practicum requirements.

Boundary: The undergraduate Social Work OUAC code is for year-three entry, not direct first-year BSW admission.

Thanatology

King's describes its program as North America's only undergraduate Thanatology degree. It includes a 45-hour field placement.

Boundary: This claim belongs to King's; it should not be generalized to Western's whole catalogue.

Formalized double majors

King's publishes intentionally designed double-major combinations across selected disciplines.

Boundary: Eligibility, module, course, and progression rules still apply to each combination.

Western degree and course access

Eligible King's graduates get a Western degree. Students can use Western libraries, athletics, services, and eligible courses.

Boundary: Western Senate governs admission and academic rules; cross-registration does not make every Western program a King's offering.

Compare King's rooms, required meal plans, and added charges

Alumni Court, Townhouses, and Wemple Hall are King's residence options—not Western's full residence system. Current prices are 2026–27; Fall 2027 prices and cycle-labelled guarantee terms remain pending.

Current guarantee, future cycle pending

King's standing copy guarantees qualifying first-year applicants who apply before June 2. Because it is not labelled Fall 2027, use it as the latest policy and confirm the future cycle before relying on it.

King's careers and co-op

King's internships, practica, and career support

Match the work experience to the specific King's program

MOS has approved internship courses, Social Work has required practica, and Thanatology includes a short field placement. These distinct routes do not establish universal co-op at King's or across Western.

MOS internship

Current King's MOS courses describe approved pass/fail industry placements of 8, 9 to 12, or 13 to 16 months. These come after a prerequisite workshop.

BSW practica

King's publishes at least 210 hours in Year 3 and at least 525 hours across two terms in Year 4.

MSW practica

The one-year MSW includes at least 450 practicum hours; the two-year MSW includes a 450-hour practicum in each year.

Thanatology field placement

The undergraduate Thanatology program includes a 45-hour placement.

Career support

King's offers support with résumés, interviews, job boards, job shadowing, internships, fairs, and counselling. King's students may also use Western Career Services.

No universal co-op

These are King's internships, practica, and placements for specific programs. They are not proof that every King's or Western program includes co-op.

Western access has limits

King's students may use Western Career Services. But that shared service does not bring every Western co-op or internship program into the King's catalogue.

No universal King's or Western co-op claim is supported

Current experiential learning · Published for this period

King's official pages show some specific things. They document MOS internships and Social Work practica. They also document Thanatology placement and experiential courses. They do not show co-op in every program.

Being affiliated with Western, or having access to Western services, does not mean you can use all Western co-op programs.
