How international entrance scholarships work
At many Canadian universities, you're considered for entrance scholarships when you apply for admission. There's no extra form. Your admission average and program usually decide the amount, so check each university's own rules in the table.
A few awards need more. Some ask your high school to nominate you, and some have their own application and an earlier date. The “How you apply” line under each date shows which.
Government student aid is for Canadians
Canada Student Grants and provincial aid such as OSAP are for Canadian citizens, permanent residents and protected persons. As an international student, plan on university awards and your own funds.
Compare each award's amount with the university's international tuition before you count on it. Our international students guide covers documents, English tests and study permits.
Find more awards that fit you
Run the Scholarship Finder with your average, program and target provinces. It ranks every award in our list that's open to international students.
For the full process, from references to scam warnings, read how to apply for scholarships in Canada.
How this list works
Every award here comes from the same checked list as our Scholarship Finder. Each record links to the provider's own page and shows the day we last checked it. We never copy award details from aggregator sites.
Awards that are closed for this cycle are left out of the tables. They come back when the provider posts new dates. Dates refresh on their own, so a passed date drops off the page.
A listing isn't a promise that you qualify. Each provider sets its own rules and picks its own winners. Read the official page before you apply.
