Your admission average drives most entrance awards

At many Ontario universities, the automatic entrance scholarship depends on your admission average, worked out from your top six Grade 12 U and M courses. U courses prepare you for university; M courses can lead to university or college. Each university sets its own amounts and rules.

Our Top 6 average calculator works out your average and shows the published entrance scholarship amounts at the universities it covers.

Check the national award dates now

Some national awards close months before your university applications are due, and some need your school to nominate you. Look at the first table today and put each date in your calendar.

Our guide to Loran, Schulich Leader and other major awards compares the big ones side by side.

Group awards and OSAP

Awards for specific groups are on their own pages: Black students, Indigenous students, first-generation students, students with disabilities and women in STEM.

Grants from OSAP, the Ontario Student Assistance Program, don't need to be paid back. Read our OSAP guide for who qualifies and how to apply.

How this list works

Every award here comes from the same checked list as our Scholarship Finder. Each record links to the provider's own page and shows the day we last checked it. We never copy award details from aggregator sites.

Awards that are closed for this cycle are left out of the tables. They come back when the provider posts new dates. Dates refresh on their own, so a passed date drops off the page.

A listing isn't a promise that you qualify. Each provider sets its own rules and picks its own winners. Read the official page before you apply.
