  2. Confirm your French is strong enough to succeed in the program

How automatic entrance awards work

You apply for admission and the university checks your average against its own scale. If you meet a band, you get the award. Each university decides which grades count and says when it confirms the amount.

Most are paid in first year only. Some renew if you keep a set average; our renewable scholarships page lists those.

Our Top 6 average calculator shows where your Ontario average lands on the scales it covers.

Entrance scholarships at each university

Our university pages show the full scale, renewal rules and the awards that need a form.

Don't skip the awards that need a form

The biggest university awards usually need a separate application, an essay or a school nomination. They often close in the winter of Grade 12.

How this list works

Every award here comes from the same checked list as our Scholarship Finder. Each record links to the provider's own page and shows the day we last checked it. We never copy award details from aggregator sites.

Awards that are closed for this cycle are left out of the tables. They come back when the provider posts new dates. Dates refresh on their own, so a passed date drops off the page.

A listing isn't a promise that you qualify. Each provider sets its own rules and picks its own winners. Read the official page before you apply.
