Admissions Planning

Fall 2027 requirements, deadlines, program averages, and offers

Toronto Metropolitan University admission requirements for 2027

Fast answer: Ontario applicants need an OSSD, six Grade 12 U/M courses, at least a 70% overall average, Grade 12 U English, and every prerequisite for the intended program. That is an eligibility floor—not a competitive cut-off. Current Ontario high school applicants should submit through OUAC by January 15, 2027, while TMU's complete-file guaranteed consideration date is February 1, 2027.

Ontario eligibility floor

OSSD, six Grade 12 U/M courses, at least a 70% overall average, English, and every program prerequisite. Competitive programs normally require more.

OUAC Group A deadline

January 15, 2027 for current Ontario high school applicants. OUAC can process later applications, but university and program rules still apply.

TMU guaranteed consideration

February 1, 2027 for a complete Fall 2027 application and supporting documentation. Later files are reviewed only while space remains.

Decision timing

TMU uses rolling decisions. Offers can begin as early as November, and most Grades-Only decisions are released from February through the end of May.

TMU admission averages and prerequisites by program

The ranges below are the current program-page planning ranges, which describe averages needed in previous cycles. They can move up or down with competition and are not confirmed Fall 2027 cut-offs. Every required subject is included in the six-course academic set.

Two deadlines, two different jobs

January 15 is the OUAC Group A date; February 1 is TMU's complete-file date

OUAC's January 15, 2027 deadline applies to current Ontario high school applicants. TMU's calendar separately states that a complete Fall 2027 application and supporting documentation received by February 1 gets guaranteed consideration. A portfolio, audition, interview, essay, assessment fee, transcript, or another required item can have its own instructions. Use the earliest applicable date; do not treat February 1 as permission to miss the OUAC deadline.

Grades-Only versus Grades-Plus admission

Grades-Only

Admission is based on the academic record available at review time. Grade 11 results may support an early conditional offer, but the final offer conditions still control. Computer Science, Business Management, Engineering, Accounting & Finance, and Collaborative Nursing are current examples.

Grades-Plus

Academic results are assessed together with a required non-academic component. A file is incomplete until the required work arrives. TMU's current list, subject to change, is:

  • Architectural Science
  • Disability Studies
  • Fashion
  • Health Administration (part-time)
  • Image Arts: Film
  • Image Arts: Photography Media Arts
  • Interior Design
  • Midwifery
  • Performance: Acting
  • Performance: Dance

How to apply and keep the file complete

1. Apply

Most undergraduate applicants use OUAC. Current or former TMU students and some part-time or special applicants use a different TMU form.

2. Activate

Follow the acknowledgment email to activate the TMU online identity and access ChooseTMU.

3. Complete

Upload only requested documents and submit every program-specific non-academic requirement by its stated deadline.

4. Monitor

Check ChooseTMU and official email for missing items, alternate offers, decisions, conditions, and deposit instructions.

TMU says current Ontario secondary school grades normally flow through the school and OUAC. Other applicants can upload requested unofficial transcripts in ChooseTMU, but an admitted student may still need official documents sent directly by the issuing institution. Review the live document submission rules for the applicant's curriculum and history.

Offers, wait lists, and alternate offers

TMU can release decisions on a rolling basis from November. Most Grades-Only decisions arrive from February through the end of May, while Grades-Plus programs publish their own indicative rounds. TMU may issue an alternate offer when the original program is not available. An offer remains conditional until the student meets every grade, course, document, acceptance, deposit, and enrolment condition. ChooseTMU—not an estimated range or a third-party calculator—is the authoritative record for an individual file.

Continue planning

Keep application dates, costs, work-integrated learning, and housing as separate decisions. Review the Fall 2027 Ontario deadline guide, then compare TMU scholarships and tuition, TMU co-op pathways, and TMU residence and apartments.
