TMU Meal Plans and Dining Halls, 2026-27

If you live in a TMU residence, a meal plan is mandatory and billed with your rent. For 2026-27, the 7-day plan costs $7,570 and the 5-day plan $5,565, each with $450 in flex dollars. The Pitman Apartment declining-balance plan costs $1,580. Your building and room style decide which plan you start on. Plan holders eat all-you-care-to-eat at two dining halls, Pitman and the ILC. Commuters can buy meal packs or load TMU Eats Dining Dollars instead.

The three residence plans compared

These are TMU's 2026-27 figures. Each total includes a $35 administration fee and an $80 sustainability and health and safety fee, charged in the first instalment. All three plans run from August 30, 2026 to April 23, 2027. TMU Eats' own 7-day page quotes $7,571; the residence fee schedule adds up to $7,570.

Which plan fits which student

If you're in the ILC or a Pitman double, single or paired room, the 7-day plan is the only option. Neither building gives those rooms a private kitchen, so you'll eat most meals in the dining halls.

DCC residents start on the 5-day plan. The 2-bedroom units have a full kitchen, so cooking on weekends is realistic. The 4-bedroom units only have a snack prep area. If you won't cook, the 7-day upgrade costs $2,005 more.

In a Pitman apartment, you have a full kitchen and can keep the $1,580 declining-balance plan. At the $22.45 dinner drop-in price, $1,465 covers about 65 dinners, so plan to cook most meals. You can upgrade during your residence application, or later by emailing TMU Eats.

Dining halls and campus eateries

Both dining halls accept every residence plan and meal packs. You can also walk in and pay the drop-in price by debit, credit or Dining Dollars: $15.45 for breakfast, $20.45 for lunch and $22.45 for dinner. Between 7 and 8 a.m., either hall lets you take breakfast to go in its own containers.

The ILC Dining Hall is closed on weekends, so 7-day plan holders eat at Pitman on Saturdays and Sundays.

How flex dollars and Dining Dollars work

The $450 in flex dollars on the 7-day and 5-day plans works at TMU Eats locations and at participating retailers on campus, including Balzac's, Oakham Café, The Met Campus Pub and Ted's Kitchen. When they run out, add more through eAccounts or at the OneCard Office. Unspent flex dollars carry over into the next academic year.

Declining-balance funds and TMU Eats Dining Dollars don't expire and carry over year to year, but they're non-refundable and non-transferable. TMU's meal plan overview page lists the Pitman Apartment plan as $1,450 on your OneCard. The plan's own page and the residence fee schedule both use $1,465, so treat $1,465 as the billed amount and check your MyServiceHub charges.

Options if you live off campus

Off-campus students can email TMU Eats to sign up for the full 7-day or 5-day plan. Most commuters use one of two voluntary options instead, both bought in the TMU Mobile Order App or on the Transact website.

  • Meal packs are non-refundable and non-transferable. Use them by April 30, 2027, except the 160-meal pack, which expires December 18, 2026.
  • TMU Eats Dining Dollars work like a debit balance at TMU Eats eateries and don't expire.
  • The Hub Café's Friendly Fiver is a $4.99 daily meal. TMU says the Office of the President funded it to stay at that price in 2025-26.
  • If you have allergies or dietary needs, email TMU Eats. TMU Eats says its kitchens aren't allergen-free.
