TMU MyServiceHub, D2L Brightspace and Course Enrolment

TMU runs almost everything through one login, my.torontomu.ca. Inside it, MyServiceHub handles course enrolment and fees (and offers for non-OUAC applicants), and D2L Brightspace holds your course sites. First-year students don't pick their required courses. TMU enrols you automatically in early August, and you then add electives in MyServiceHub. For Fall 2026, first-year enrolment opened August 5 at 6 a.m. ET, and the last day to add a fall course was September 18.

Which TMU tool does what

New students mix these up most. The ChooseTMU Applicant Portal tracks your application and offer, not your courses. D2L Brightspace is where instructors post material, but it isn't where you add or drop courses.

How first-year enrolment works

Returning students pick courses in a spring round called Course Intentions. New students skip it. If you're admitted to the first semester of a full-time program and confirmed your offer by mid-July, TMU enrols you in your required fall and winter courses. Your schedule appears in MyServiceHub in early August.

Your job is the electives. From your enrolment date, add electives for both fall and winter, and adjust fall sections if the times don't work. If you weren't auto-enrolled, you must add every course yourself, required ones included. Your program department emails you in early August with instructions, and your exact start date shows in MyServiceHub.

  • Check your program's first-year courses in the Undergraduate Calendar before your enrolment date.
  • Use the Visual Schedule Builder to block off work or commute times and compare timetables.
  • If a course is full, join its wait list where one exists. TMU emails your university address if it enrols you.
  • If you applied for OSAP, enrol in both fall and winter courses in August so your course load matches your application.
  • Got transfer credits? Drop the auto-enrolled courses they cover and pick others with your program adviser.

Getting into D2L Brightspace

You reach D2L through my.torontomu.ca, using the Online Courses & Organizations tab or the Your courses in D2L Brightspace link. Set up your TMU online identity first, or you may not have access. A new username and password work within 24 hours of activation.

If MyServiceHub shows you're enrolled but a course isn't in D2L, your instructor probably hasn't opened it yet. Some don't until just before the first class. Allow pop-ups in your browser for my.torontomu.ca and D2L, and turn on email or Brightspace Pulse notifications. TMU recommends doing tests and uploads on a computer rather than the app.

OneCard, fees and your chosen name

Apply online for your free OneCard, then pick up the physical card in POD-48, weekdays from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Bring your 9-digit student number and original, unexpired government photo ID whose name matches TMU's records. Students starting in Fall 2024 or later can also add a Digital OneCard to Apple or Google Wallet, but you still need the physical card for exams.

Set your chosen first name in MyServiceHub before you apply for your OneCard and before classes start. It then appears on your card, class lists, D2L and Google Workspace. Official documents keep your legal name.

If you received an entrance scholarship, TMU applies half to your account in late August and half in January. OSAP money arrives from September, and you pay any balance left.
