Fall 2027 deadline status

Do not treat TMU's February 17, 2026 date as a 2027 deadline

Reviewed August 2, 2026, TMU had not published the complete Fall 2027 entrance-scholarship calendar. February 17, 2026 applied to the President's, Terence Grier, and International Student Leadership awards for Fall 2026. Use it only as prior-cycle planning evidence and verify the live scholarship and AwardSpring pages when the next cycle opens.

Guaranteed and renewable entrance scholarship

For Fall 2026, eligible students attending a Canadian secondary school are automatically assessed using the final admission average. The current program is open to Canadian citizens, permanent residents, protected persons, and international students who meet all the attendance, application, first-entry, grade, and enrolment conditions.

Final admission averageYear onePotential annual renewalPotential total
95%+$3,000$3,000$12,000
90%–94.99%$1,500$1,500$6,000
86%–89.99%$750$750$3,000

Under TMU's current renewal table, annual values correspond to a 3.85–4.00 CGPA for $750, 4.01–4.14 for $1,500, and 4.15 or higher for $3,000. The amount can rise or fall with CGPA, and full-time enrolment plus the other terms still apply.

Competitive TMU entrance scholarships

These awards are separate from the automatic average-based tier and require their own current application. Values, award counts, and deadlines can change by cycle.

AwardCurrent valueCurrent detail
President's Entrance Scholarship$10,000 per year; up to $40,000Twelve current awards for secondary-school graduates who demonstrate academic accomplishment, leadership, original thought, and creative ability.

International Student Leadership Award$10,000Up to 53 current Fall 2026 awards for eligible first-year international students with strong academics, leadership, and community involvement.

TMU's current terms allow the listed entrance scholarships to be combined only up to a maximum overall annual value of $15,000. International applicants should also note TMU's statement that its scholarships do not cover the full cost of international tuition.

Four funding routes to keep separate

Automatic entrance scholarship

TMU assesses eligible Canadian-secondary-school applicants using the final admission average and the current guaranteed-award conditions.

AwardSpring application

Complete the general application, profile, and any required budget information, then submit the extra materials attached to matched awards.

Government student aid

Ontario residents apply to OSAP; other Canadian residents use their home province or territory, and eligible U.S. students follow TMU's loan guidance.

Career Boost employment

Apply for approval and then compete for an eligible on-campus role. Approval or financial need does not guarantee employment.

OSAP at Toronto Metropolitan University

The 2026–2027 OSAP application is open. TMU recommends applying early and says document review can take approximately six to eight weeks. These dates apply to current 2026–2027 study periods, not a new Fall 2027 entrant's later 2027–2028 schedule.

Undergraduate spring/summer OSAP follows TMU's separate session-specific process. The June 19 and July 9 full-academic-year dates shown on TMU's page belong to the graduate-student table, so they are not included here as undergraduate deadlines.

AwardSpring

TMU says its AwardSpring database includes more than 1,400 scholarships, awards, and bursaries. Submit the general application, then monitor matched listings for separate essays, references, budgets, identity criteria, faculty rules, and deadlines.

Career Boost

For Fall 2026 and Winter 2027, an approved and hired undergraduate can earn up to $2,500 per semester. The domestic and international routes have separate eligibility rules. Treat it as competitive employment—not a guaranteed grant.

A seven-step TMU funding checklist

  1. 1Use the fee row for the student's exact program and status; faculty ranges are not universal program prices.
  2. 2Add residence or rent, food, books, transit, health coverage, supplies, travel, and an emergency reserve.
  3. 3Separate automatic scholarships from AwardSpring applications, need-based bursaries, government aid, and employment.
  4. 4Complete AwardSpring's general application early and revisit the dashboard as new matches appear.
  5. 5Apply for OSAP or other government aid early enough for document review, and use the schedule for the actual study year.
  6. 6Check every scholarship's combination and renewal rules before adding headline values together.
  7. 7Recheck Fall 2027 dates and values when TMU publishes the next admissions and award cycle.

Frequently asked questions

Direct answers based on TMU's current tuition, entrance-award, AwardSpring, OSAP, student-employment, and international-student guidance.

How much is Toronto Metropolitan University tuition for 2026–2027?

TMU's published 2026–2027 full-time undergraduate ranges depend on faculty and fee status. Ontario-student faculty ranges run from $7,397–$9,958 in Science to $11,883–$11,939 in the Ted Rogers School of Management. International faculty ranges run from $38,693–$41,506 in Community Services to $44,476–$44,532 in Ted Rogers. These faculty ranges are planning estimates, not one price for every program; residence, food, books, transit, and personal expenses are additional.

What average do I need for a Toronto Metropolitan University entrance scholarship?

Under TMU's current Fall 2026 guaranteed and renewable scholarship program, eligible students attending a Canadian secondary school receive $750 in year one with an 86%–89.99% final admission average, $1,500 with 90%–94.99%, or $3,000 with 95% or higher. The potential four-year totals are $3,000, $6,000, and $12,000 respectively, subject to the current eligibility and renewal rules.

Does TMU automatically give entrance scholarships?

Yes, under the current 2026–2027 program. Eligible first-time post-secondary students attending a Canadian secondary school are automatically considered for the guaranteed and renewable entrance scholarship using their final admission average. Canadian citizens, permanent residents, protected persons, and international students can qualify when they meet all current enrolment, attendance, application, and grade conditions.

When is the TMU scholarship deadline for Fall 2027?

TMU had not published a complete Fall 2027 entrance-scholarship calendar when this guide was reviewed on August 2, 2026. February 17, 2026 was the application deadline for the President's, Terence Grier, and International Student Leadership awards for Fall 2026; it is not a Fall 2027 deadline. Monitor TMU's live scholarships page and AwardSpring when the next cycle opens instead of reusing the prior date.

How much is the TMU President's Entrance Scholarship?

TMU currently lists the President's Entrance Scholarship at $10,000 per year, renewable for up to four years for a potential total of $40,000. The current program lists 12 awards and assesses academic accomplishment, leadership, original thought, and creative ability. It requires a separate application and uses cycle-specific admission and AwardSpring deadlines.

How do I apply for TMU scholarships and bursaries?

Use AwardSpring after receiving the credentials needed to access TMU systems. Submit the general application, complete the profile and budget information where requested, and follow up on matched opportunities and their extra requirements. TMU says AwardSpring contains more than 1,400 scholarships, awards, and bursaries. Some entrance awards are automatic, while prestigious, faculty, donor, identity-based, and need-based opportunities can require separate materials and deadlines.

Can I use OSAP at Toronto Metropolitan University?

Yes. Eligible Ontario residents can use OSAP at TMU. The 2026–2027 application is open, and TMU says document review can take approximately six to eight weeks. Current deadlines include October 21, 2026 for a fall-only application and March 2, 2027 for fall/winter or winter-only funding, with supporting-document deadlines afterward. A Fall 2027 entrant must use the later 2027–2028 schedule once it is published.

What scholarships does TMU offer international undergraduate students?

International students can be eligible for TMU's guaranteed and renewable entrance scholarship and selected competitive awards. The current International Student Leadership Award is $10,000 for up to 53 Fall 2026 recipients. TMU also lists the President's Entrance Scholarship and faculty or donor opportunities. TMU states that its entrance scholarships do not cover full international tuition, so applicants should compare award values against the current international fee range and build a separate living-cost budget.

Can TMU entrance scholarships be combined?

Some can, but TMU's current terms cap the combined overall annual value of the listed entrance scholarships at $15,000. The group includes the guaranteed and renewable entrance scholarship, President's, Terence Grier, International Student Leadership, Pierre Lassonde, selected Ted Rogers, and English Language Institute awards. Students must also follow each award's individual eligibility and renewal rules.

How are TMU entrance scholarships renewed?

For students admitted in 2023–2024 or later, TMU's current renewal table links the annual value to cumulative GPA: $750 at 3.85–4.00, $1,500 at 4.01–4.14, and $3,000 at 4.15 or higher. Students must also meet the full-time enrolment, course-intention, academic-standing, and other current terms. Renewal is assessed annually and the amount can rise or fall with CGPA.

What is TMU Career Boost?

Career Boost is TMU's on-campus student employment program. For Fall 2026 and Winter 2027, an eligible hired undergraduate can earn up to $2,500 per semester. The domestic undergraduate program requires approval, full-time study, Ontario residence during the work period, demonstrated unmet need, and other current conditions; TMU also has a separate Career Boost International route. Approval does not guarantee a job, so do not count the maximum earnings until hired.
