Toronto Metropolitan University has published its 2026–2027 tuition. It has also published its current entrance-award program. But it has not yet released a complete Fall 2027 scholarship calendar. This guide separates verified current values from prior-cycle dates. It explains the automatic scholarship, AwardSpring, undergraduate OSAP (Ontario's student grants and loans), bursary, international-funding, and Career Boost routes.

TMU entrance scholarships for Fall 2027

TMU guarantees a renewable entrance scholarship. You must come from a Canadian high school. Your final average must be 86% or higher.

- Each year's renewal depends on your annual CGPA. The first-year amount is split between fall and winter.

- Canadian citizens, permanent residents, protected persons and international students at a Canadian high school can all apply. You need at least three Ontario Grade 12 U/M courses in 2026 to 2027. You can use the provincial equivalent instead.

TMU publishes its guaranteed bands for 2027-28
TMU explicitly labels its guaranteed renewable entrance scholarship for students admitted in 2027-28. A final average of 95% or higher gives $3,000 in first year, 90% to 94.99% gives $1,500 and 86% to 89.99% gives $750. The four-year maximums are $12,000, $6,000 and $3,000 respectively. These totals depend on renewal and shouldn't be described as a single payment upon accepting admission.
The guarantee applies to eligible applicants from Canadian secondary schools, including international students studying at a Canadian high school. The published requirements include at least three Ontario Grade 12 U/M courses or the provincial equivalent in the specified school year, continuous full-time high-school study and first entry to postsecondary education. Check those conditions as well as the average; reaching 86% doesn't override an ineligible educational history.
Use final marks and the terms for your intake
TMU confirms the entrance band using the final admission average. The first-year amount is split between fall and winter. An early offer can help you plan. But it is not permission to ignore the final-grade requirement. The university's average calculation and entry conditions matter more than a rounded calculator display. Save the scholarship section of your admission offer. Check it again when final results are processed.
The separate terms page is explicitly titled for Fall 2026 and Winter 2027. It contains older application dates and continuation details. That page shouldn't be relabelled as the terms for Fall 2027. Where it differs from the admissions awards page's explicitly labelled 2027-28 grid, retain both cycle labels and ask TMU which conditions govern your offer. We don't fill the missing new-cycle rules by copying an older deadline.
President's and Terence Grier require AwardSpring
For Fall 2027, TMU's admissions scholarships page says the application opens in AwardSpring on November 2, 2026. It closes February 16, 2027 at 11:59 p.m. Eastern time. You can apply after you receive a TMU Student Number and activate your online identity. You can apply before you receive an admission offer. Complete the individual award application. Do not assume the guaranteed scholarship process also covers prestigious awards.
The President's Entrance Scholarship is $10,000 a year. It is renewable for a $40,000 total. It lists 12 recipients. Its minimum final average is 90%. The application requires the published essay or project summary and references. The Terence Grier award covers first-year tuition for one recipient. It uses an 85% minimum for eligible domestic-status applicants. The minimums are a screen. They are not a prediction that you'll be selected.
References and technical completion matter
TMU says you cannot apply for prestigious awards after the deadline. This includes delays caused by technical difficulties. Give yourself time to activate the account. Confirm your reference arrangements. Check that you submitted every required item. A saved draft and a final submitted application can be different states. Keep the confirmation. Use AwardSpring's current instructions if an old help page shows a different submission process.
Selection should be explained using TMU's published award criteria, including academic accomplishment, leadership and the required response or project evidence. Don't invent an admissions probability or assume that a particular activity title earns points. You write the essay yourself and your referees write their own references. Before using outside feedback, check the current award's instructions and any authorship declaration attached to its form.
International awards have distinct applicant groups
An international student at a Canadian secondary school may qualify for the guaranteed entrance scholarship, while international applicants studying elsewhere need the relevant international and prestigious award guidance. TMU's International Student Leadership Award has its own academic, leadership and application conditions. Its winter version uses a different timetable, and the official page specifically warns that the general February deadline doesn't apply to that winter award.
The international admissions scholarships page helps distinguish these routes. Read the exact start term before applying. Read the required study permit or fee status before applying. If you change immigration status, program or course load, ask Student Financial Assistance what happens to the offered scholarship. A scholarship stated for international entrants shouldn't be added to a new domestic-fee budget. Wait until TMU confirms the combination.
Renewal and need-based help after admission
The admissions awards page says renewal depends on annual CGPA. The older terms page contains a detailed GPA-based renewal schedule, but it covers a different intake. For Fall 2027, verify the schedule in your own award offer or updated terms. The first-year high-school band alone doesn't establish what TMU will pay in every later year. Keep enough room in your budget for a lower or lost renewal if the conditions aren't met.
TMU's current-student scholarship and bursary pages describe further opportunities after enrolment. Those applications are separate from receiving the guaranteed entrance award. Ontario residents can also use OSAP, and TMU publishes calendar deadlines for full-time undergraduates, Chang School and graduate students separately. Follow the OSAP school table for the standard undergraduate route, then confirm your program's actual dates and document checklist with Student Financial Assistance.
Apply through the TMU process
Apply to TMU by September 1, 2027. The guaranteed scholarship needs no separate application.
Stay in full-time high school without a gap, and enter post-secondary study for the first time.
For prestigious awards, apply on AwardSpring between November 2, 2026 and February 16, 2027.
Entrance scholarship questions
Does an 86% TMU average give $3,000 immediately?
The published $3,000 figure is the potential four-year total for the 86% band, with $750 in the first year. The 90% and 95% bands similarly distinguish first-year payments from renewable totals. Future instalments depend on the applicable renewal terms, so use the first-year amount when planning the initial tuition payment.
When are TMU Fall 2027 application-based awards open?
TMU publishes November 2, 2026 to February 16, 2027 at 11:59 p.m. Eastern for the current entrance-award application window. Read the individual award requirements and submit the separate application. Preparing an essay or project without completing the required application steps is not a submitted award application.
Does the President's Entrance Scholarship cover all applicants with 90%?
No. The President's award is a competitive selection with a limited recipient count, an application, supporting evidence and reference requirements. A 90% average meets an academic condition but does not guarantee selection. The automatic grade-band award answers a different question and should be budgeted separately from an unconfirmed competitive result.
Can I use the 2026 terms page as the final 2027 renewal contract?
The terms page checked is labelled for the earlier cycle. It is useful context but does not establish an unpublished Fall 2027 renewal GPA or every holding restriction. Read the new-cycle offer and terms when issued, and ask TMU to resolve any difference before relying on future annual instalments.

TMU does not have one tuition price. It does not have one financial-aid application. A useful plan keeps these things apart. They are the student's program fee, automatic entrance scholarship, AwardSpring opportunities, government aid, international funding, and on-campus work.

TMU publishes faculty-level full-time undergraduate ranges. The exact assessment depends on your program and course load. It also depends on Ontario or out-of-province residency and international fee status. Housing, meals, books, transit, and personal costs are not included below.

Guaranteed and renewable entrance scholarship
For Fall 2027, eligible students attending a Canadian secondary school are automatically assessed using the final admission average. The current program is open to Canadian citizens, permanent residents, protected persons, and international students who meet all the attendance, application, first-entry, grade, and enrolment conditions.

Under TMU's current renewal table, annual values correspond to a 3.85–4.00 CGPA for $750, 4.01–4.14 for $1,500, and 4.15 or higher for $3,000. The amount can rise or fall with CGPA, and full-time enrolment plus the other terms still apply.

These awards are separate from the automatic average-based tier and require their own current application. Values, award counts, and deadlines can change by cycle.

Under TMU's current terms, the listed entrance scholarships can be combined only up to a top yearly value of $15,000. International applicants should also note a TMU statement. Its scholarships do not cover the full cost of international tuition.
Four funding routes to keep separate
Automatic entrance scholarship
TMU assesses eligible Canadian-secondary-school applicants using the final admission average and the current guaranteed-award conditions.
AwardSpring application
Complete the general application and profile. Add any required budget information. Then submit the extra materials attached to matched awards.
Government student aid
Ontario residents apply to OSAP. Other Canadian residents use their home province or territory. Eligible U.S. students follow TMU's loan guidance.
Career Boost employment
Apply for approval. Then compete for an eligible on-campus role. Approval or financial need does not guarantee a job.
OSAP at Toronto Metropolitan University
The 2026–2027 OSAP application is open. TMU recommends applying early and says document review can take approximately six to eight weeks. These dates apply to current 2026–2027 study periods, not a new Fall 2027 entrant's later 2027–2028 schedule.
For undergraduate spring/summer OSAP, TMU has a separate process for each session. The June 19 and July 9 full-academic-year dates shown on TMU's page belong to the graduate-student table. They are not included here as undergraduate deadlines.

TMU says its AwardSpring database has more than 1,400 scholarships, awards, and bursaries. Submit the general application. Then watch your matched listings. They may ask for separate essays, references, budgets, identity criteria, faculty rules, and deadlines.
Career Boost
For Fall 2026 and Winter 2027, an undergraduate can earn up to $2,500 per semester. You must be approved and hired. The domestic and international routes have separate eligibility rules. Treat it as competitive employment. It is not a guaranteed grant.
