2026–2027 tuition, scholarships, bursaries, OSAP, and student work

Toronto Metropolitan University scholarships and financial aid

TMU does not have one tuition price or one financial-aid application. The useful plan separates the student's program fee, automatic entrance scholarship, AwardSpring opportunities, government aid, international funding, and on-campus work.

Guaranteed scholarship

$750–$3,000/year

Current automatic tier for eligible students with an 86% or higher final admission average.

AwardSpring

1,400+ opportunities

TMU's database for matched scholarships, awards, bursaries, and application follow-ups.

Career Boost

Up to $2,500/term

Current Fall 2026/Winter 2027 maximum for an eligible undergraduate who is approved and hired.

Fall 2027 deadline status

Do not treat TMU's February 17, 2026 date as a 2027 deadline

Reviewed August 2, 2026, TMU had not published the complete Fall 2027 entrance-scholarship calendar. February 17, 2026 applied to the President's, Terence Grier, and International Student Leadership awards for Fall 2026. Use it only as prior-cycle planning evidence and verify the live scholarship and AwardSpring pages when the next cycle opens.

TMU tuition and fees for 2026–2027

TMU publishes faculty-level full-time undergraduate ranges. The exact assessment depends on program, course load, Ontario or out-of-province residency, and international fee status. Housing, meals, books, transit, and personal costs are not included below.

Guaranteed and renewable entrance scholarship

For Fall 2026, eligible students attending a Canadian secondary school are automatically assessed using the final admission average. The current program is open to Canadian citizens, permanent residents, protected persons, and international students who meet all the attendance, application, first-entry, grade, and enrolment conditions.

Final admission averageYear onePotential annual renewalPotential total
95%+$3,000$3,000$12,000
90%–94.99%$1,500$1,500$6,000
86%–89.99%$750$750$3,000

Under TMU's current renewal table, annual values correspond to a 3.85–4.00 CGPA for $750, 4.01–4.14 for $1,500, and 4.15 or higher for $3,000. The amount can rise or fall with CGPA, and full-time enrolment plus the other terms still apply.

Competitive TMU entrance scholarships

These awards are separate from the automatic average-based tier and require their own current application. Values, award counts, and deadlines can change by cycle.

AwardCurrent valueCurrent detail
President's Entrance Scholarship$10,000 per year; up to $40,000Twelve current awards for secondary-school graduates who demonstrate academic accomplishment, leadership, original thought, and creative ability.
Terence Grier Entrance ScholarshipFirst-year tuitionA competitive first-year tuition scholarship listed in TMU's current entrance-award program.
International Student Leadership Award$10,000Up to 53 current Fall 2026 awards for eligible first-year international students with strong academics, leadership, and community involvement.

TMU's current terms allow the listed entrance scholarships to be combined only up to a maximum overall annual value of $15,000. International applicants should also note TMU's statement that its scholarships do not cover the full cost of international tuition.

Four funding routes to keep separate

Automatic entrance scholarship

TMU assesses eligible Canadian-secondary-school applicants using the final admission average and the current guaranteed-award conditions.

AwardSpring application

Complete the general application, profile, and any required budget information, then submit the extra materials attached to matched awards.

Government student aid

Ontario residents apply to OSAP; other Canadian residents use their home province or territory, and eligible U.S. students follow TMU's loan guidance.

Career Boost employment

Apply for approval and then compete for an eligible on-campus role. Approval or financial need does not guarantee employment.

OSAP at Toronto Metropolitan University

The 2026–2027 OSAP application is open. TMU recommends applying early and says document review can take approximately six to eight weeks. These dates apply to current 2026–2027 study periods, not a new Fall 2027 entrant's later 2027–2028 schedule.

Undergraduate spring/summer OSAP follows TMU's separate session-specific process. The June 19 and July 9 full-academic-year dates shown on TMU's page belong to the graduate-student table, so they are not included here as undergraduate deadlines.

AwardSpring

TMU says its AwardSpring database includes more than 1,400 scholarships, awards, and bursaries. Submit the general application, then monitor matched listings for separate essays, references, budgets, identity criteria, faculty rules, and deadlines.

Career Boost

For Fall 2026 and Winter 2027, an approved and hired undergraduate can earn up to $2,500 per semester. The domestic and international routes have separate eligibility rules. Treat it as competitive employment—not a guaranteed grant.

A seven-step TMU funding checklist

  1. 1Use the fee row for the student's exact program and status; faculty ranges are not universal program prices.
  2. 2Add residence or rent, food, books, transit, health coverage, supplies, travel, and an emergency reserve.
  3. 3Separate automatic scholarships from AwardSpring applications, need-based bursaries, government aid, and employment.
  4. 4Complete AwardSpring's general application early and revisit the dashboard as new matches appear.
  5. 5Apply for OSAP or other government aid early enough for document review, and use the schedule for the actual study year.
  6. 6Check every scholarship's combination and renewal rules before adding headline values together.
  7. 7Recheck Fall 2027 dates and values when TMU publishes the next admissions and award cycle.
