Course requirements

For the main Psychology program, Windsor asks only for ENG4U. Your average is worked out over six Grade 12 academic courses, so pick courses you do well in. There is no math or science requirement for the BA.

The neuroscience BSc is different. Behaviour, Cognition and Neuroscience needs ENG4U, MHF4U, SCH4U and SBI4U. Windsor strongly recommends MCV4U and recommends SPH4U. Plan these in Grade 11 with our course planner.

The average you need

Psychology lists a 70% minimum and a 79% mean average. The mean is the average of admitted students, so many had more. For the co-op version, Windsor asks for 80% with at least 70% in English.

Behaviour, Cognition and Neuroscience also has a 70% minimum, but its mean is 88%. It also needs a separate math and science average of at least 70% over all your 4U or 4M math and science courses, not counting MDM4U.

For a wider view, Windsor's Fall 2025 data shows new Ontario high school students in the Faculty of Arts, Humanities and Social Sciences, where psychology sits, averaged 82.6%. In that faculty, 17.2% of new students came in with 70% to under 75%, and 19.6% with 75% to under 80%. Windsor does not publish an acceptance rate for psychology. Degree options

Windsor offers a three year General psychology degree and a four year Honours degree, with a thesis option. You can also combine psychology with another subject as a combined honours degree, or study Child Psychology, Developmental Psychology, or Disability Studies and Psychology.

Other routes include a Business Administration and Psychology dual degree (BComm), which needs a math course and a 73% minimum, an Honours Psychology option in Interdisciplinary Health Sciences, and a five year Concurrent program with a BEd and an Early Childhood Education diploma from St. Clair College.

The BSc route: Behaviour, Cognition and Neuroscience

If you want a science degree with psychology, this is Windsor's option. It's a BSc (Honours) program that mixes biology and psychology, with courses such as Principles of Neuroscience and Human Physiology. Windsor calls it a research based, limited enrolment program.

A thesis and a non thesis option are both offered. Windsor lists professional school, such as medicine or pharmacy, and research psychology among the career tracks.

Interdisciplinary Health Sciences option

Windsor also lists Honours Psychology in Interdisciplinary Health Sciences. It combines biological sciences, biomedical sciences and psychology with a concentration. Choices include Healthcare Economics, Health and Aging, Indigenous Health, Medical Humanities and Biostatistics.

The admission rules match the main program: ENG4U, a 70% minimum and a 79% mean. It suits students who want health topics without the heavier math and science list of the neuroscience BSc. Career tracks Windsor names include professional schools and health research.

Routes for college graduates

If you finish a Child and Youth Care diploma first, Windsor has degree completion routes in Psychology, Developmental Psychology and Child Psychology. Each needs the completed diploma, ENG4U and a grade of B or 73%.

Windsor strongly advises these students to start in the summer term, so they can finish at least two first year courses before fall. This is a useful backup if your Grade 12 marks fall short now.

What first year looks like

Psychology majors start with an introduction to psychology course just for them. You work in small groups led by mentors. Sample first courses include Introduction to Psychology as a Behavioural Science and as a Social Science.

Later you can add research and community placements. Other sample courses include Child Development, Social Psychology, Clinical Psychology and Human Cognitive Neuroscience.

Co-op

Windsor offers a Bachelor of Arts (Honours) Psychology with Co-operative Education. You can choose the co-op program on OUAC when you apply. Current first year Honours Psychology students can also apply in December and January. General, thesis and combined honours students can't join co-op.

To be admitted after your first term you need a 65% cumulative average and a 70% major average. To stay in, you need 60% in both. A typical plan has work terms in the fall and summer of second year and the summer of third year. You also take a non credit job readiness course called Transform in first year.

Co-op adds a fee. For May 2026 to April 2027, domestic undergraduate co-op students pay $485 a term for 8 terms, and international students pay $601.

Dates for Fall 2027

Ontario high school students apply through OUAC. The Windsor pages we checked did not list a Fall 2027 application date. Use our Ontario deadlines page for the OUAC equal consideration date, and apply by mid January 2027.

Entrance award applications open January 1 and close April 30. You don't need an offer of admission to apply.

Tuition for 2026-27

Windsor posts tuition through a fee estimator, not a printed table. It shows the approved fees for the 2026-2027 academic year, per term. Pick Undergraduate, Arts, Humanities, Soc Science, full time and your fee category to see the amount. Choose Science for the neuroscience BSc.

Windsor suggests budgeting at least $1,000 a year for textbooks and other learning materials. Co-op students also pay the co-op fee each term.

Entrance scholarships

For 2027-2028 entry, Windsor guarantees a minimum scholarship to Canadian students coming straight from high school. An 85% to 89.99% average earns $1,000. A 90% to 94.99% average earns $10,000, paid as $1,250 over 8 terms.

The renewable awards need an 85% average each year and full time study. With a 79% mean in psychology, most students sit below the first band, so a strong final term can pay off.

For parents

Windsor psychology is a realistic choice for students in the 70s, and co-op adds paid work at 80%. If your child is aiming at medicine or research, the neuroscience BSc is the more demanding route.
