UWindsor Meal Plans: Rodzik Dining Hall, Costs and UwinCASH
If you live in a UWindsor residence, you must buy one of two all-you-care-to-enjoy meal plans. Both give you unlimited visits to the Rodzik Dining Hall plus $150 of UwinCASH for other campus outlets. The seven-day plan costs $3,790 a semester and the five-day plan $3,635, both tax-exempt. Windsor doesn't label these rates with an academic year, so confirm them on your account.

Choose between the two residence plans
The plans are mandatory in Cartier, Laurier, Rodzik and Alumni halls. You pick one on your residence application. If you skip that step, Windsor gives you the larger plan.
The only real difference is weekends. If you'll often go home on weekends, the five-day plan saves $155 a semester.

- Two semesters come to $7,580 on the seven-day plan or $7,270 on the five-day plan.
- The plan is billed with your residence and tuition fees. In 2026 the due dates were August 15 for fall and December 15 for winter.
- The plan runs from dinner on move-in day until 11 a.m. on the alternate exam day in December and in April.
How the Rodzik Dining Hall works
The dining hall is on the first floor of Rodzik Hall, outside the residence's secure area. It's dine-in only, so you can't take food out. Chefs run several stations on a rotating menu, and the daily menu is posted on the dining website.
For the week of September 28, 2026, the hall served breakfast from 7:30 to 10:30 a.m., lunch from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., dinner from 4:30 to 7:30 p.m. and late night until 10 p.m. on weekdays. Weekends swap breakfast and lunch for brunch from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Hours shrink over reading week and holidays.
If you have a co-op placement, practicum or downtown-campus classes that keep you off main campus for at least five hours, you can register for boxed meals. Windsor emails the form each semester.
Allergies and dietary needs
Simple Servings is a separate station in the Rodzik Dining Hall. Its food is made in a separate kitchen without any of the 11 main allergens. Menu icons also flag vegetarian, vegan and halal options.
If you have a specific diet, complete the dining allergy form and ask Dining Services to build a plan with you. That's the expected first step before any exemption request.
UwinCASH and the other outlets
UwinCASH is a declining balance on your UwinCARD. It works at Dining Services outlets such as the CAW Marketplace, Tim Hortons in the CEI, Odette and CAW buildings, TLC Naturals and Starbucks. It also covers the campus store, vending machines and library printing.
Your UwinCASH stays on your card while you're a student. The all-you-care-to-enjoy part of the plan doesn't carry over; it ends when you move out. Top up UwinCASH in the GET app, with a $5 minimum.
Changing plans or asking for an exemption
Watch these deadlines. They're set in the residence and meal plan agreement.
- You can move up to the seven-day plan at any time during the semester.
- You can only move down during the first month: by September 30 for fall or January 31 for winter. Changes can take up to five business days to appear.
- Exemptions are rare. Windsor won't grant one for cost, preference, wanting to cook or a busy schedule. It considers documented medical conditions that Dining Services can't reasonably accommodate, and other exceptional circumstances.
- Apply through Manage My Housing in the residence portal by October 1 at 4 p.m. for fall, or by February 1 at 4 p.m. if you're new to residence in winter. Decisions take about 15 business days and aren't retroactive.
If you live off campus
Commuters can pay at the door or buy a block of swipes. Blocks are sold in person at the UwinCARD Office, are non-refundable and don't expire. Prices below are before HST.
