Leddy Library at UWindsor: Hours, Quiet Floors and Study Rooms

Leddy Library is UWindsor's main library, split between the Main Building and the West Building. Since September 8, 2026 it runs two kinds of hours: full-service hours with every desk open, and extended building hours when only the Main Building stays open for studying. On weeknights you can stay until midnight.

Fall 2026 hours

During extended building hours the West Building and the circulation and information desk close. The Main Building stays open, with student staff on hand.

The library is closed on Thanksgiving, Monday, October 12, 2026. Check the live hours page before exams, because the schedule can change.

What still works after the desk closes

Printing, computers, online resources, research guides, self-checkout of general-collection items and a province-wide chat reference service keep working in extended hours.

Some things need full-service hours. Plan to visit before the desk closes if you need print course reserves, borrowed technology or equipment, in-person research help, or to pick up an item ordered from another library.

Pick a quiet or collaborative floor

Leddy zones its floors by noise level. If you need silence, head for the second or fourth floor of the Main Building or the third floor of the West Building.

Booking a study room

Both room types are booked online through the library's room calendar, up to 30 days ahead. Check in and out so an unused room frees up for someone else.

Leddy's summary page describes personal rooms as two three-hour sessions a day, while its policy page allows three bookings a day. Follow the booking system if the two disagree.

Other spaces worth knowing

These spaces follow the library's regular hours.

  • Wellness rooms in 2169 (Main, 2nd floor) and 307 (West, 3rd floor) are first come, first served, with no booking.
  • A bookable child-friendly study room and a breastfeeding room in W118 support student parents.
  • Your UwinCASH balance can pay for library printing and photocopying.

The Law Library is separate

The Don and Gail Rodzik Law Library serves the Faculty of Law and keeps its own hours. In fall 2026 it's open 8:30 a.m. to 10:50 p.m. Monday to Thursday, 8:30 a.m. to 4:20 p.m. on Friday, 11 a.m. to 6:50 p.m. on Saturday and 1 p.m. to 8:50 p.m. on Sunday. Its study-room booking is for law students.
