UWindsor Toldo Lancer Centre: Access, Hours and Fees

The Toldo Lancer Centre (TLC) at 2555 College Avenue is UWindsor's recreation complex. It grew out of the older St. Denis Centre, which Windsor now describes as the TLC's former name. Your UWin student card is also your TLC membership, so the fitness spaces, drop-in pool and gym times and LancerFit classes cost you nothing extra at the door.

What's inside the TLC

The newer Lancer Sports and Recreation Centre opened in the 2022-23 academic year. Windsor says students contributed $55 million to build it, which it calls the largest contribution ever made by Canadian university students. The older Forge Fitness Centre and Dennis Fairall Fieldhouse sit inside the same complex.

Windsor's own pages describe the building's size differently, so we've left that figure out. The table lists the spaces a first-year student is most likely to use.

What's inside the TLC
SpaceWhat Windsor lists
PoolEight-lane, 25-metre pool with a zero-entry ramp, eight diving platforms and three change rooms (universal, men's and women's)
Triple GymnasiumThree multipurpose courts on hard maple, divisible with ceiling dividers; retractable seating for up to 2,000 fans
Indoor track200-metre suspended walking and jogging track above the Triple Gym, with three marked lanes; about five laps make a kilometre
Fitness CentreAdded in 2022; about 8,000 sq. ft. across a ground floor and mezzanine, with free weights, strength machines and cardio
Forge Fitness CentrePart of the complex since 2009 and revamped in 2024 with new flooring and layout
Dennis Fairall Fieldhouse63,000 sq. ft. fieldhouse built in 1980-81, with a seven-lane 200-metre track, four basketball courts and 12 badminton courts
StudiosA spin room, a martial arts room and two large multipurpose rooms for group classes

What your UWin card covers

Windsor says your UWin ID card is your TLC membership card. Scan in at the turnstiles with the free Go Lancers app, which Windsor treats as the main way in. A printed card works as a backup. A lost card costs $25 to replace and Windsor replaces it only once.

Building and fitness hours

From September 1 to April 30 the building is open 7 a.m. to 11:30 p.m. Monday to Friday, 9 a.m. to 10 p.m. on Saturday and 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Sunday. The fitness spaces close earlier on weekdays, at 10 p.m., and at 9 p.m. on Saturday.

The TLC closes on statutory holidays including Thanksgiving, but stays open on Family Day. The Triple Gym, Fieldhouse and multipurpose room close for about a week in June and a week in October for convocation. The pool and fitness centres stay open then. Check the Go Lancers app for closures and the current pool and open-recreation schedules.

Lockers, locks and parking

Plan for these small costs before your first workout.

  • Lockers are free but day-use only. Since July 18, 2025 you need to bring your own lock; the service desk sells one for $10 plus tax.
  • Anything left in a locker for more than 24 hours goes to lost and found.
  • Parking for the TLC is in lots U and H. Enforcement runs 24/7, so you'll need a permit or a paid HONK session.

Intramurals and the outdoor venues

Lancer Recreation intramurals are open to students, staff, alumni and community members. Leagues run by semester or for the full year, and the sports change each term. Register through the Fusion Play app with your UWin ID. You can sign up as an individual and be placed on a team that needs players.

Alumni Stadium opened in 2005. It has an artificial turf field that Windsor says carries a FIFA-approved rating, an eight-lane 400-metre track and 2,000 permanent seats. Intramural flag football and soccer use the stadium and the fields behind the TLC.

What you pay through your fees

Your recreation access is funded by compulsory ancillary fees on your student account. Windsor's ancillary-fee page still links the 2025/26 schedule, which labels its rates as proposed. We didn't find a 2026/27 schedule, so treat these as the latest published figures.

Athletics and Recreation Fee, full-time$137.43
Lancer Sports and Recreation (Toldo Lancer Centre) capital fee$72.35 a semester, charged at most twice a year
