The Scholarship Finder is a starting point, not a guarantee of eligibility or funding. Amounts and deadlines change, so confirm on the provider's page before you apply.
How the Scholarship Finder works
Checked awards, matched to you, with the official page one click away.
What's in the list
The finder lists national awards, university entrance awards and government grants that we've checked on each provider's own page. Every award shows who can apply, the amount, the timing in the provider's words, the next date and the day we last checked it. We recheck each one at least every 120 days. We don't copy listings from scholarship directories. If a provider changes its rules, its page wins over ours.
How matching works
You answer four short steps: where you are in school, your status and province, your average and plans, what you do outside class and, if you choose, a few details about you. Each award's rules are checked against your answers. If you fail a rule, the award is left out. If you skipped something it needs, it stays in with a Check line.
Awards where you meet every listed rule come first. After that, awards rank by fit: a school you picked, your program, your activities and financial need all count. Each card says why you match. Closing soon marks a date in the next 45 days.
Closing soon and closed awards
Closing soon means the next published date is within 45 days. Some awards have more than one date, such as a school nomination before the application itself. The finder shows the next one. Once every date has passed, the award moves to Closed for this cycle and stops showing as a match. Closed awards stay in the full list on this page so you can plan for next year.
Saving your search
You can use the finder without an account. With a free account, we save your latest search to Saved results automatically, so you don't have to run it again. If you search first and then sign up, we save that search for you. You can also save single awards to Applications to track status, notes and a reminder date.
Signed in? We fill in what we can from My Stellar Profile, like your stage, province, average and programs. Optional details, like identity or disability, stay in your browser unless you tick Keep these answers with my saved results.
Where entrance scholarships come from
Many Ontario universities consider you for an entrance scholarship when you apply, based on your admission average. Those awards live on each university's own pages, so check our financial aid guides for the University of Waterloo, McMaster University and the University of Toronto.
Scholarship Finder questions
Straight answers about dates, matches and your privacy.
Every award shows its next published date. When the last date passes, it moves to Closed for this cycle and stops appearing as a match. Each card shows the day we last checked the provider's page. Confirm the date and time zone on the official page before you apply.
We only list awards we've checked at the source, so some schools and groups have fewer. Try another province, pick fewer schools or skip a step. Many entrance scholarships are automatic when you apply, so read the scholarships and financial aid guide next.
No. You can answer the questions and read the full award list without one. Signed out, you see your top three matches with their steps. A free account shows every match and saves your latest search to Saved results.
Yes. Choose your status and the finder only shows awards that accept it. Some major awards, like Schulich Leader Scholarships, are for Canadian citizens only. International students see awards such as the Lester B. Pearson International Student Scholarship and university entrance awards for international students.
Identity, gender, disability, first in family, time in care and protected-person status are optional. We ask because some awards are only for these groups. They stay in your browser unless you tick Keep these answers with my saved results, and we never share them.
Open the award's official page from its card. Each card lists the steps the provider asks for, such as a school nomination, references or an essay. Our guide on how to apply for scholarships in Canada covers references, essays and timing.
