There is no single honest UCalgary tuition figure for every student. The official 2026–2027 estimator changes by faculty, citizenship, course load, residence, and meal plan, and remains the best planning tool through April 2027. Actual student-account charges can differ.

The schedule effective Spring Term 2026 lists domestic tuition at $738.66 per 3-unit course for most faculties. Nursing is $777.36, Schulich Engineering is $963.03, and Haskayne Business is $1,066.23. Ten courses in the first group total about $7,386.60 before general fees.

The standing application deadline is December 1, with documents due December 15. The registrar lists this Calgary-area award at $15,200. It is renewable in second and third year with a 3.00 GPA on a full course load. International students are eligible, and the home address must be within 100 km of Calgary's centre. The Schulich faculty page instead advertises $13,150 annually for Calgary residents and $26,350 for non-Calgary residents.
The registrar record and the faculty marketing page publish different values. Treat the registrar's award database and your award offer as authoritative, and apply by the December 1 Prestige deadline either way.

Calgary's President's scholarship requires a final 95%
The University of Calgary currently lists a $5,000 non-renewable President's Admission Scholarship for applicants reaching its required 95% admission average. The award record doesn't identify a Fall 2027 entry year, so we keep it as the latest published value rather than a guaranteed new-cycle amount. The university's awards FAQ says the final admission average must remain at least 95% or the award is rescinded.
Calgary calculates that average from the specifically required courses for your program. It can differ from your overall high-school average or an Ontario best-six calculation. A calculator result that drops a required course doesn't establish eligibility. Read your offered program and final-grade conditions together, and keep the scholarship conditional until the university confirms that those conditions have been satisfied.
Prestige is a separate early application
Calgary's awards FAQ identifies December 1 as the prestige application deadline for entering high-school students. It describes prestige values from $15,000 to more than $30,000, with most renewable annually. That general range isn't a common four-year total for every prestige scholarship. Find the named award in the official awards search and read its yearly value and continuation conditions.
The December 1 instruction is yearless on the FAQ. Confirm the Fall 2027 competition in the awards calendar and application system instead of automatically writing December 1, 2026 as a confirmed deadline. Apply for admission early enough to receive access to the awards application. An automatic President's scholarship doesn't mean the separate prestige application has been submitted.
The awards calendar separates submission and payment
Calgary's official awards calendar lists competition stages, including application, notification and payment timing. The apply-for-awards page explains how to use the student system and select the relevant competition. A saved application isn't necessarily a submitted application. Use the current competition name and school year in the account, and keep the confirmation for your records.
Calgary says it doesn't accept late undergraduate award applications. If references or documents are required, arrange them before the deadline rather than assuming you can add them after an initial form submission. Use the published criteria of the specific award for your activity and financial information. The university can use different nomination or selection processes for different awards; there isn't one essay or leadership formula that guarantees a prestige offer.
Renewable awards have award-specific conditions
Calgary's awards search identifies renewable awards in their titles and links to their terms. Those terms, not a universal first-year average, establish how to retain an award. The President's Admission Scholarship is non-renewable even if your university grades remain excellent. A multi-year prestige award may require a specified course load, university GPA or continued eligibility under the donor's terms.
If you're considering a reduced load, deferral or program change, ask the awards office how it affects the particular scholarship. Don't assume two renewable awards use the same GPA. Put each offered award's annual amount and review point on your budget. If the official detail doesn't publish a condition you need, request it from Calgary rather than inventing a number or copying another university's rule.
International, transfer and mature applicants use distinct rules
Calgary's FAQ explains that applicants with four or more completed postsecondary courses are treated as transfer applicants for its award guidance. Transfer students can pursue internal competitive awards after completing a full year at Calgary rather than simply claiming the high-school entrance award route. Mature entrants who haven't completed postsecondary coursework can have different eligibility. Check the actual applicant category before comparing average bands.
International awards also have individual conditions in the awards search and application instructions. The highest advertised prestige value isn't guaranteed to every international applicant admitted at 95%. Check citizenship or residency, the required fee status and the award name. If you enter an after-degree program, the FAQ identifies faculty-nominated and later continuing-student options rather than the general high-school entrance competition.
Aid, refunds and the amount you can spend
Calgary's financial-aid page explains government loans and other support for a remaining funding gap. Ontario residents should confirm OSAP eligibility for their program and school, while Alberta residents use their provincial aid route. Studying in Alberta doesn't automatically change your aid residency. A scholarship application and a government-aid application also have separate financial documentation and deadlines.
The awards FAQ says excess funds can be refunded after the add/drop deadline once unpaid tuition and fees are settled, with direct-deposit timing governed by the award notice and payroll process. A scholarship credited against fees isn't necessarily cash available before classes begin. Check your student account and banking details if a payment is missing. Plan deposits, travel and initial living costs separately from an award that hasn't yet been assessed or refunded.
Apply through the UCalgary process
Apply for admission. The President's Admission Scholarship is automatic.

Submit the prestige awards application by December 1 if you're entering from high school.

Does Calgary's President's Admission Scholarship renew annually?
The President's Admission Scholarship is published as a one-time $5,000 entrance award. Its 95% admission condition also requires the relevant final average to be maintained. It should therefore appear as first-year funding in a budget, not as four $5,000 instalments. Later faculty awards and competitive Prestige packages have their own terms and are separate possibilities, not automatic renewals of this award.
Why does the Prestige page give a range rather than one total?
Prestige is a group of competitive awards with different values and renewal terms. The university describes values from $15,000 to more than $30,000 and says most are renewable; it does not make that one common four-year total for every recipient. Read the particular award record and resulting offer to see whether its advertised value is annual, total or otherwise conditional before comparing it with a one-time scholarship.
Can a transfer student use the high-school entrance-award route?
Calgary distinguishes transfer awards from high-school entrance awards, including a transfer category for applicants with the specified postsecondary coursework. Applying from another university does not automatically preserve eligibility for a school-leaver competition. Check the number and type of completed courses against the category instructions and use the correct awards application so the selection office has the information needed for that route.
When can a Calgary scholarship create a bank refund?
The university applies awards through the student account and describes refunds after the relevant add/drop process when the account is eligible for a refund. Set up the required banking information and check outstanding tuition or fees first. An award notification does not mean cash arrives on notification day. Ask Enrolment Services about the account balance and payment schedule before relying on a refund for an immediate rent or residence payment.
