Trent University admission requirements for Ontario students
Trent's university-wide eligibility floor is an OSSD, six Grade 12 4U or 4M courses, a 70% final average, and at least 60% in ENG4U. That simple baseline does not cover the real selection picture: Nursing, forensics, Biomedical Science, Software Engineering, and direct-entry co-op streams add course-level floors or higher averages.
General Ontario floor
70% + ENG4U at 60%
Six Grade 12 4U/M courses must include every prerequisite for the selected program.
Fall 2027 now published
Nursing only
The Nursing application opens September 17, 2026; Trent's central undergraduate page is not yet relabelled for Fall 2027.
Application route
OUAC
Ontario applicants use OUAC for Peterborough and Durham GTA; Trent-only international applicants can use the direct application.
A genuine Fall 2027 update
Nursing has moved to the next cycle; the general page has not
The Trent/Fleming School of Nursing now confirms September 17, 2026 for applications to open, January 15, 2027 as the earliest Group A close, June 1, 2027 for Ontario high-school responses, and August 13, 2027 for final conditions. Those are Nursing dates. Trent's central page still carries 2026 award, residence, and tuition-deposit dates, so the rest of the Fall 2027 calendar remains pending.

Programs and Pathways
Trent programs: forensics, environment, health, and two campuses
Trent's catalogue is broad for a primarily undergraduate university, but its useful distinctions are structural: a professional Forensic Science degree with purpose-built facilities, a non-credit Medical Professional Stream, Trent/Swansea dual degrees, required Indigenous content in every undergraduate degree, and a Durham GTA campus with its own program mix.
Forensics cluster
Direct-entry Forensic Science integrates biology, chemistry, anthropology, law, and investigative practice; Trent also offers Forensic Biology, Forensic Chemistry, and joint-major routes.
Selection: The three single-major forensics degrees publish a 75% Ontario minimum and a limited number of places.
Medical Professional Stream
A four-year, non-credit support stream paired with a BA, BSc, or BAS, adding advising, mentorship, volunteer, research, and professional-school application preparation.
Selection: Admission is consideration from 80%; participation does not itself confer a medical credential or guarantee a professional-school seat.
Trent/Swansea dual degrees
Pathways combine Trent study with Swansea University in Medical Sciences, Chemical Engineering, and Law with Arts or Business.
Selection: Published Ontario entry minimums are 80%, and Law students complete an internal continuation application in second year.
Nursing
The Trent/Fleming School of Nursing offers Collaborative and Compressed B.Sc.N. routes, with clinical preparation and its own admission calendar.
Selection: Direct-from-high-school applicants need a 75% overall average and 70% in English, Biology, Chemistry, and one 4U Math.
Environment and conservation
Trent combines environmental science, policy, Indigenous Environmental Studies/Science, conservation biology, water sciences, and field learning on a 1,400-acre Peterborough campus.
Selection: Science routes add their own math and science prerequisites; Conservation Biology co-op requires an 80% combined prerequisite average.
Indigenous learning
Trent says it was the first university in Canada to establish an academic department dedicated to Indigenous peoples and knowledges.
Selection: Every undergraduate who started in Fall 2018 or later must complete at least one approved half-credit Indigenous-content course.
Peterborough campus
The larger campus supports the full collegiate model, science and environmental facilities, Nursing, Forensics, and extensive co-op and field-study options.
Selection: Programs and residence types differ by campus, so applicants should confirm the home location on the program page and OUAC choice.
Durham GTA campus
Oshawa programs include Business, Computer Science, Communications, Criminology, Social Work, Child & Youth Studies, and Logistics & Supply Chain Management.
Selection: Durham offers its own co-op list, residence, fees, and campus experience; do not assume every Peterborough program is available there.
Forensics
Purpose-built crime-scene facility
Trent calls it the first building of its kind in Canada and connects students to real-evidence exercises, placements, and laboratory work.
Indigenous learning
Required in every degree
Students beginning Fall 2018 or later complete at least one approved half-credit Indigenous-content course.
Campus choice
Peterborough or Durham GTA
Programs, co-op, fees, residence, and academic environment differ by home campus.
The Medical Professional Stream is preparation, not admission
MPS sits beside a BA, BSc, or BAS and adds advising, mentorship, volunteering, research, experiential learning, test preparation, and partner pathways. It does not award a medical credential and does not guarantee a Canadian medical-school seat. Judge it as structured preparation while also evaluating the underlying major on its own.

“Full first-year tuition” and the current dollar tables do not match
Trent markets the Canadian 95%+ tier as full first-year tuition, but its scholarship table fixes the first year at $6,118. The standard 2026–2027 Ontario tuition schedule is $6,240.85 before ancillary fees, a $122.85 difference. Trent says final awards come from Financial Aid and values can change; use that final notice rather than stretching the slogan beyond the published amount.
Fall 2027 international scholarship details are explicitly pending
Trent says the Winter, Summer, and Fall 2027 information will be available soon. The international $2,500–$5,500 automatic ladder and prestigious-award deadline table are therefore latest-available 2026 evidence, not guaranteed Fall 2027 terms.

Co-op, Research, and Career Outcomes
Trent co-op, Careerspace, and experiential learning
Trent publishes more than 35 co-op streams with two distinct work-term models. Co-op is only one part of the career system: the university separately guarantees every student a meaningful, recorded career-boosting learning opportunity through placements, research, practica, field work, internships, and other formats.
Program breadth
Trent publishes 35+ co-op streams across Business, Humanities and Social Sciences, and Sciences.
Alternating model
Three paid 12–16 week terms, each at least 420 hours; two may run back-to-back as an eight-month experience.
Continuing model
Artificial Intelligence, Chemistry, Computer Science, Forensic Chemistry, Kinesiology, Psychology, and Software Engineering use one 12-month paid work experience.
Administrative fees
A non-refundable $750 fee is billed five times during the degree; students keep paying applicable ancillary fees on work terms but not tuition.
Career preparation
COOP 2000H covers résumés, cover letters, labour-market research, interviewing, networking, equity, and professionalism before work terms.
Placement reality
Trent makes every effort to post suitable work terms but explicitly does not guarantee that every student will secure one.
Paid does not mean placed automatically
Trent requires paid, full-time co-op work, but explicitly says it cannot guarantee an opportunity for every student. The search is competitive. Students may find their own role, but the Co-op Coordinator must approve it before the student accepts the offer. If a student finishes the degree without the required work terms, Trent says the credential is awarded without the co-op designation.
Alternating route
3 × 420 hours
Three paid terms of 12–16 weeks; two may combine into eight months.
Continuing route
12 paid months
Used by AI, Chemistry, Computer Science, Forensic Chemistry, Kinesiology, Psychology, and Software Engineering.
Administrative fee

Non-refundable; ancillary and levy fees continue on work terms even though tuition does not.
