Course requirements
Trent's general rule for Ontario students is the OSSD and at least six Grade 12 4U or 4M courses, including any program prerequisites. ENG4U must be at least 60%.
For Business Administration, the program prerequisite is a 4U math. Trent's requirements table lists MHF4U or MCV4U as recommended courses. MDM4U is a 4U math too, but if you plan to specialize in finance or economics, Advanced Functions is the safer choice because first year includes ECON 1250H Mathematics for Economics and Management.

The average you need
Trent lists a minimum 70% overall final average for Business Administration. Trent does not publish the average of students it admitted, so treat 70% as the floor.
The co-op stream is higher. Trent asks for a minimum 80% average and a 4U math for business co-op. Two other business options also ask for more: Logistics and Supply Chain Management needs 75% with MHF4U or MCV4U, and the Trent/Swansea Law and Business dual degree needs 80%.
Offers are conditional while you're still in high school. Trent says your offer depends on meeting the minimum requirements of your program. Work out your number with our Top 6 average calculator.

No essay or interview
Trent's BBA requirements list courses and averages only. There is no supplementary application, essay, interview or portfolio for the BBA or its co-op stream at entry.
The one exception in the business area is the Trent/Swansea Law and Business dual degree. Trent says students complete an internal application in January of their second year to continue to Swansea University.

Dates for Fall 2027
Ontario high school students apply through OUAC. Trent's dates page lists four offer rounds for programs other than Education and Nursing: early December, early February, mid-March and early May. If you don't get an offer in May, Trent reviews your final grades in July.
Trent doesn't post a separate BBA deadline on these pages. Use our Ontario university deadlines page for the OUAC dates. Other Trent dates for 2027: residence is guaranteed if you apply by June 3, 2027, and the $500 domestic tuition deposit is due June 15, 2027.

What first year looks like
Trent's School of Business lists the required courses for a single major in Business Administration under the 2026/27 calendar. Year one includes ADMN 1000H Contemporary Issues in Management, ADMN 1221H Financial Accounting, ECON 1010H Microeconomics and ECON 1020H Macroeconomics.
You also take ECON 1250H Mathematics for Economics and Management or ADMN 2600H Applied Quantitative Analysis, in winter of year one or in year two. Year two adds marketing, organizational behaviour, managerial accounting, human resource management and statistics. To graduate you need a CGPA of 65%.
You can add a specialization. Trent lists options including accounting, economics, entrepreneurship, finance, human resource management, information systems and e-commerce, logistics and supply chain management, and marketing and consumer culture.

Co-op and internships
Co-op is a separate stream with an 80% entry average. Trent's program page says co-op runs at both campuses and gives you 12 months of paid work, traditionally three work terms of four months at 35 hours a week. You can combine two terms into an eight month placement with one employer.
Trent's pages don't agree on credit. The program page says you earn credit toward your degree through the co-op stream. The Careerspace co-op requirements page says three non-credit co-op work terms (COOP 2100P, 3100P, 4100P) are required to graduate with co-op. Confirm with Trent which applies to you.
To stay in co-op, Trent asks for a 75% cumulative average throughout your study terms. If you're not in co-op, the program page says you can do a 6, 8 or 12 month paid internship in fourth year.

For parents
The regular BBA is reachable with a 70% average, a 4U math and ENG4U at 60%. The real decision is co-op. It needs 80% at entry and 75% to stay in, so your teen's Grade 12 marks matter more if they want paid work terms.
An 80% average also triggers an automatic scholarship of at least $1,500 a year. See our Trent University guide for campus and residence details.
