Ontario universities you can apply to with a 75% average

For Fall 2027, a 75% average can meet published minimums for Windsor's regular Business Administration and Engineering programs, Laurentian Mechanical Engineering, Algoma Biology, and Trent Biomedical Science or Data Science. You still need the listed subjects and any separate course-average rule. Ontario Tech publishes verbal expected cutoffs, which need their own reading.

At 75%, check every part of the published rule

A 75% overall result can sit above one program's minimum while a subject mark falls below another requirement. Windsor shows the difference. Its plain Business Administration degree lists 73% regular entry and at least 70% in one Grade 12 university Math. Engineering asks for 74% overall and a separate 74% average in its engineering math and science subjects.

Write both figures beside your course marks. Don't round an average to reach a rule the university hasn't rounded for you. If you're unsure how a second average is calculated, send admissions your course codes and ask. That answer is more useful than comparing your full school report with a number from another degree.

Ontario Tech uses another label: Expected cut-off. Its Engineering forecast says Mid-70s. Keep those words intact. They don't define an exact 75% threshold. The Ontario average bands overview explains how to compare a minimum with an estimated range. Use the original label every time you update your shortlist.

Compare the content of your social science choices

Trent's Criminology minimum is 75% for the regular program. You need six Grade 12 U or M courses, including ENG4U at least 60%. Its co-op line lists 80%. If Criminology is the subject you want, keep the regular route distinct while you check the course choices and campus. The higher co-op number doesn't change the regular rule.

Ontario Tech's Criminology and Justice page gives a Low 70s expected cutoff. It requires the Ontario diploma and six 4U/M courses including ENG4U. The page prints regular and co-op application codes. Its grade table doesn't give a separate forecast for each code, so ask Ontario Tech whether the co-op route differs.

Trent Arts and Science is another 75% regular option in its central Ontario table. The subject mix differs from a justice degree. Read the Trent program chapter and Ontario Tech program chapter. Choose a curriculum that you would want to complete. A similar grade label won't make different degrees interchangeable.

Read the plain Windsor BComm row before combined degrees

Windsor's business page contains several degrees. For plain Business Administration, you need English and one of Advanced Functions, Calculus and Vectors, or Data Management. At least one Grade 12 university Math must be 70% or higher. The regular minimum is 73%, measured over six Grade 12 academic courses. Co-op has its own 78% minimum.

The same page also lists Business and Computer Science, Business and Economics, and other combinations. Some require Advanced Functions or another math set. Don't copy the closest visible subject list without checking its heading. A 75% overall average doesn't repair a missing course. Nor does the plain BComm rule establish eligibility for a combined degree.

Algoma's Business Administration table provides another comparison. It lists a 70% minimum with ENG4U and two U/M Maths. Check the campus listed for the program. Use the Windsor university hub and Algoma hub to read beyond the entry table. Compare the subjects you'll study before treating either degree as an alternative.

Separate Biology from Biomedical Science and Data Science

Trent Biomedical Science requires more than a Biology course and a 75% average. Its published set includes English, Biology and Chemistry. You also need Advanced Functions or Calculus and Vectors, plus Physics or Earth and Space Science. Another eligible 4U/M course completes the set. Check each pair carefully so you know which choice your transcript satisfies.

Trent Data Science also lists a 75% minimum, but it asks for English, Advanced Functions, and either Calculus and Vectors or Data Management. You can't infer that Physics is required just because another science degree needs it. Match the exact Bachelor of Science row. If you have both approved math alternatives, ask the university how it selects the courses for your file.

Algoma Biology lists 75% with ENG4U, Advanced Functions and two U/M Sciences. Biology and Chemistry are recommended in its table. Recommended courses aren't listed as required. Its listed campus is Sault Ste. Marie. Start with the Algoma science program information, then check that the degree's actual course plan fits what you want to learn.

Engineering offers several distinct checks at this band

Laurentian Mechanical Engineering publishes a 75% minimum in the best six Grade 12 U/M courses. Its Ontario list includes a Grade 12 English U/M course, Advanced Functions, Physics and Chemistry. You also need another U/M Math or Science and another U/M course. The English U/M wording follows Laurentian's meaning; ask Laurentian about your own course if it's unclear.

Windsor's Engineering FAQ lists a 74% top-six minimum and a 74% engineering math and science average. English, Advanced Functions, Chemistry and Physics are required. Calculus and Vectors is very strongly recommended. That recommendation differs from Ontario Tech Comprehensive Engineering, where Calculus and Vectors is on the required course list.

Ontario Tech's program begins with a generic first year. Before second year, you apply to change into a named Engineering program, and that change is competitive. Don't read its Mid-70s forecast as a promise of a later discipline. Compare the Ontario Tech Engineering requirements with Laurentian's programs and decide which actual route you want.

Fall 2027 co-op rules differ across these universities

Laurentian's co-op page explicitly addresses high school applications for Fall 2027. You can select Chemical, Mechanical or Mining Engineering co-op directly through OUAC. The university says admission requirements are the same as the regular program. For Mechanical Engineering, keep that statement beside the program page's 75% minimum, which gives no year. The co-op page's Fall 2027 date doesn't put a year on numbers shown on other pages.

You must later reach a 3.5 university GPA on Laurentian's 10-point scale before your first Engineering work term. That's a progression rule after entry, not a high school percentage to convert. Laurentian also says placements are competitive and employers choose whom to hire. Co-op entry and a job offer are separate decisions.

Windsor BComm gives a different initial requirement: 78% for co-op compared with 73% regular. Trent Criminology lists 80% co-op compared with 75% regular. Don't add the same assumed co-op increase to every school. Read the exact application route. Use Laurentian's university hub for the broader degree context before making your choice.

Use a course gap to set your next academic step

Make two notes for each program: the required course set and the grade rule. If you're missing Calculus, that means one thing for Ontario Tech Engineering and something else for Trent Data Science. The first requires it. The second lists Data Management as an alternative alongside Advanced Functions. Ask about a course only after you've identified the correct degree.

For a subject mark below a published floor, ask admissions which completed course or planned upgrade it will accept. Don't assume that another high mark cancels the subject requirement. Give the office your course level and the dates when a new result could be available. Keep its answer with your application record.

Laurentian's general framework gives a 70% minimum for Canadian secondary entry, but its Mechanical page requires 75%. That program-specific rule remains relevant. Don't use a broad university statement to erase the degree's higher minimum. Keep at least one choice whose actual subject content you want, rather than counting on an unconfirmed program change.

Keep grade guidance with no year separate from your calendar

Most numeric minima don't state an entry year. Ontario Tech's expected cutoffs give no year either. They remain useful current planning guidance, but they aren't confirmed Fall 2027 cutoffs. Save the link and check the program again when you submit your choices.

Read the Windsor application deadline guide if Windsor is on your list. Keep the application date and any requested documents beside the program. When an offer arrives, read the conditions in your own letter. A public minimum doesn't replace the final course marks or other tasks that letter requires.

Compare living arrangements while you're checking entry. Start with Laurentian residences or Windsor residences if you need housing. Read Trent financial aid for funding options to investigate. Use the correct year's costs when you build your budget. A possible admission route still needs a practical plan to attend.
