Trent Athletics Centre: Membership, Hours, Pool and Gym
Every student enrolled at Trent's Peterborough campus automatically has an Athletics Centre membership. It covers the cardio loft and weight room overlooking the Otonabee River, free drop-in fitness classes, the indoor climbing wall, the rowing tank, squash courts and the six-lane pool. Fall 2026 hours are 6 a.m. to 11 p.m. on weekdays and 7 a.m. to 9 p.m. on weekends.

What the membership includes
Peterborough students don't need to buy a membership. Staff, faculty and community members can join, and anyone else can come in with a day pass for the pool and gym.
- A free consultation and orientation with qualified fitness staff.
- Cardio and strength equipment in the Sport Centre.
- Unlimited group fitness classes, free for Trent students with no registration.
- The indoor climbing wall, the indoor rowing and paddling tank, and squash courts.
- Outdoor facilities: beach volleyball courts, an artificial grass stadium field, a track, a baseball diamond and hiking trails.
- Change rooms (men, women, and all-gender and accessible) with day-use lockers and a sauna.
- 12 guest passes to share with friends or family, and member rates on registered programs.
- Locker rental and towel service cost extra.

- Fall hours began September 8, 2026. December holiday hours hadn't been set when we checked.
- Women's-only swims are open to female-identifying participants and gender non-conforming people, and are staffed by women.
- The Athletics Centre closed briefly in September 2026 for watermain repairs on the Symons Campus and reopened on Sunday, September 27.
The pool and the gym
The Allan Marshall Pool is a six-lane, 25-metre pool with recreational swims, aquafit, lane swimming, swim lessons and women's-only swims. Check its schedule for changes.
The gymnasium is open to Trent students, members and day pass holders. You can use the space for any activity or join staff-organized drop-in sports on the drop-in gym schedule.
If you study at Trent Durham GTA
Trent says the automatic Athletics Centre membership is for students enrolled at the Peterborough campus. If you're at Trent Durham GTA, ask Athletics and Recreation which facilities and fees apply to you before counting on access in Peterborough.
