Trent Dining Plans: 2026-27 Costs, Halls and Trent Cash
Everyone living in a Trent-run residence must have a dining plan. For 2026-27, a traditional room comes with a $6,570 plan and a suite with a $4,600 plan. Each is a declining balance you spend at Trent food locations, plus a food service overhead fee. Leftover money carries forward to later terms, taxable, but it can't be refunded or transferred.

Compare the 2026-27 plans
Your room decides your plan. If you're given the suite plan, you can switch to the traditional plan by contacting the TrentU Card Office.
| Plan | Who gets it | Spendable balance | Food service overhead | Total |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Traditional | Traditional rooms in Champlain, Gzowski, Lady Eaton and Otonabee colleges, and Durham GTA | $5,020 | $1,550 | $6,570 |
| Suite style | Lady Eaton, Champlain and Gzowski Annexes, and some apartments in Lady Eaton, Champlain and Otonabee colleges | $3,350 | $1,250 | $4,600 |
| Traill College traditional | Single or double rooms at Traill College | $4,000 tax-exempt balance plus $1,020 Trent Cash | $1,550 | $6,570 |
- The overhead is part of the plan total; only the declining balance is money you spend.
- A balance left at the end of your stay carries forward to future terms on a taxable basis. It has no cash value and isn't refundable.
