Simon Fraser University Acceptance Rate: What Official Data Shows

Over the past three years, SFU admitted Canadian high school students with grades from the low 80s in Arts to the high 80s and low 90s in Computing Science, and 5,063 new undergraduates started in Fall 2025. SFU publishes those grade ranges by program, and its Institutional Research and Planning office publishes how many new students arrive each term. It doesn't publish applications or offers, so there's no acceptance rate. Here's what the official figures show.

SFU's admission grade ranges by program

SFU lists the grades of students it admitted from high school over the past three years. It calls them a guide: grades at or above a range don't guarantee an offer.

How many new students start at SFU

SFU's Institutional Research and Planning office counts new undergraduates each term by how they were admitted. Fall is the main high school intake.

Why SFU's numbers don't make an acceptance rate

An acceptance rate is offers divided by applicants, for the same group and year. SFU's public reports count students who arrived, not applications or offers. New students divided by anything else wouldn't tell you your chances.

The grade ranges are the better guide. If your average sits inside your program's range, you're in the band SFU has admitted from in recent years.
