SFU application deadlines for Fall 2027

SFU publishes two different Fall 2027 windows. High school forms run October 1, 2026 to January 31, 2027. Other post-secondary transfers apply March 1 to April 15, 2027. You don't get to pick the later one simply because you've left high school. The transfer rules explain how limited post-secondary study can keep you on the high school route. The text uses attempted, completed and in-progress units in different places. Ask Admissions which category applies if you're near its threshold. Keep a record of the courses you'll finish before the term starts.

The general transfer page also warns of different dates for Contemporary Arts and Preservice Professional Studies. Its Fall 2027 table gives May 15 for transfer records, with no year repeated in the cell. It isn't a later record date for a Grade 12 form. Use the SFU university guide for the wider route comparison. If you're applying from Ontario high school, stay with the high school form window and the Ontario course rules. A January closing date still applies even when your semester's final marks arrive later.

Submit the SFU choice in EducationPlannerBC. Then watch for your SFU student number and access to the Student Centre. That is where the To Do List shows the supporting items Admissions needs. Sending the main form doesn't send every transcript or complete a business supplement. Use the record steps for your school background. For BC high school applicants, the Student Transcript Service permission is a named January 31 task in the Fall 2027 calendar. That lets SFU access grade details. Ontario students have a different school-record route; don't look for the BC form just because you share the form deadline. The general high school record line is February 28 in that calendar. It doesn't override earlier complete-file dates for Beedie or a scholarship. Put the earliest task that actually applies to you beside each record, and check the central list after submission.

Beedie's Fall 2027 table puts both the supplemental form and admission records on February 7. Don't wait for the wider February 28 high school record date. Its supplement asks for written work and achievements, with two references including an academic referee. One must be a high school teacher or counsellor. A complete, eligible USES scholarship form can replace the Beedie supplement. That only works if all admission records and references are complete too. Starting the award form isn't enough. Beedie also gives Indigenous students a choice of routes. Talk to the Indigenous admissions office about those options. Check which form you need before you pay or send both. Write your own answers. Follow the school's rules on honest work. An adviser can help you plan dates without writing the form for you.

Keep the successful submission email and payment email for Beedie's form. The department explains what to do if both have arrived but the central To Do List still says incomplete. Contact Beedie with the requested applicant details and receipts. Don't assume the missing status will fix itself before the deadline. Equally, don't send another payment just because a checklist hasn't refreshed. The school has a support route for this mismatch. The Fall 2027 calendar gives February 7 for extra work in Contemporary Arts. Depending on the degree, that can mean an audition, interview or portfolio. Art, Performance, and Cinema Studies is exempt. So is Performance Production & Design. The Ontario page puts the words in that second name in a different order. Check the exact choice on your form. An upload deadline doesn't book a live session. We haven't checked exact new-cycle session days here. Ask the program before you plan a trip.

The Undergraduate Scholars Entrance Scholarships competition, called USES, closes December 15, 2026. Apply to SFU first so you have the student number needed for the award form. Its supporting-record deadline is January 31, 2027. That includes two references and all admission To Do items. This is earlier than the ordinary high school record deadline. If a record is still missing, a sent essay alone doesn't make the scholarship file complete. Tell your referees the actual supporting deadline and check the email details before sending their names.

USES needs two referees. One speaks to your school work. The other speaks to your work or activities in the community. That second person can't be a peer or family member. You must meet the award's rules for your first-choice degree and school history too. The SFU financial-aid section explains other support. Results run from mid-March to May 2027. No exact day is promised. The source prints 11:59pm PCT for both closes. Ask SFU what that Pacific clock label means before relying on it.

SFU's early review period runs from mid-November 2026 to January 2027 for the BC Grade 12 curriculum. It isn't an Ontario-wide early offer promise. Most high school decisions are described as rolling from January to late April. Beedie's own current page describes completed fall files being reviewed from mid-January through April, without years on that line. Neither statement gives an exact day for your offer. A complete file can be reviewed, but it still has to meet the program's academic and other rules. Keep checking for requested records while you wait.

To keep the first-year room guarantee, apply for housing by May 1. Accept the SFU offer by May 1 too. You must come straight from high school. Post-secondary study after leaving school can change that status. You also have to meet the housing rules. You can send the room form before you get into SFU. A room offer comes after entry is granted. See the SFU residence comparison. If you apply late, you join the regular process. Read your own admission letter for any reply exception.

The housing page confirms an October 1, 2026 opening at 9 a.m. for Fall 2027, without printing a zone. It says Fall 2027 through Summer 2028 room and meal fees will be posted by December 1, 2026. Those costs aren't confirmed yet. Current steps list a $50 form fee and $700 confirmation payment, but don't explicitly date those payments to the new cycle. Your housing offer supplies its confirmation deadline. Don't confuse that payment with the academic admission deposit. The exact general Fall 2027 admission-deposit amount isn't confirmed in this guide.

The Fall 2027 calendar gives June 30 for current high school students to finish courses, including online courses, to meet offer conditions. It treats upgrading students differently: their final grades must meet the admission record deadline. Final transcripts for current students have a July or August date in the Student Centre. Don't replace that personal date with the end of August. Course completion, final record delivery and registration are different tasks. Keep the offer's conditions beside your school calendar so you can spot a course that ends too late before it becomes a problem.

Neither guide extends the dates here. Check qualified facts again on November 1, 2026. Check new room and meal prices when SFU posts them. Use the Canadian deadline table for other schools.
