York University Acceptance Rate: What Official Data Shows
York does not publish an acceptance rate or admission rate. Its own institutional-research office maintains an “Undergraduate Admissions Dashboard,” but it sits behind a sign-in wall. Ontario’s Common University Data Ontario (CUDO) portal blocked our request the same day. Here is exactly what is and isn’t public, plus York’s current program-by-program admission ranges and offer conditions.

What official counts exist — and what doesn’t
York’s Office of Institutional Planning and Analysis (OIPA) lists an “Undergraduate Admissions Dashboard” on its Data Hub, described as covering “York’s current and historical enrolment funnel for undergraduate students.” Fetched live on August 25, 2026, that link opened a Microsoft sign-in prompt rather than public data — it runs on a Power BI workspace restricted to York accounts. OIPA’s public Quick-Facts index lists 16 other dashboards, covering enrolment headcounts, degrees granted, faculty and staff counts, and graduation and employment rates. None of the 16 covers applications, offers, or an admission rate. York’s older Factbook is retired outright: its own page states “Factbook is no longer being updated.”
York also participates in Common University Data Ontario (CUDO), which collects admissions data across Ontario universities. But the provincial CUDO portal (ontariosuniversities.ca, the successor to cudo.ouac.on.ca) returned a blocked HTTP 403 response when fetched live on August 25, 2026 — the same result the Wilfrid Laurier and Carleton acceptance-rate guides recorded for this portal. The CUDO Customized Reports tool, a separate Council of Ontario Universities utility, was reachable and does list a “B. Admission” data category with York selectable as an institution — but its year filter tops out at Calendar Year 2022, over three years stale as of this review, and its interactive results grid requires a form submission that a live automated fetch could not complete. York’s own monthly Pre-Term Registration reports, including the Fall 2025 edition read directly for this guide, publish enrolled FFTE and FTE headcounts against prior-year and enrolment-contract projections — enrolled headcounts, not applications or offers. Rather than substitute an unofficial number, this guide reports plainly that no current official application, offer, or admitted-student count is publicly available for York.
Official program-by-program admission ranges
York does not publish one blended acceptance rate. Instead, its undergraduate admission-requirements selector publishes a current planning range and a final-average offer condition for each program, current as of August 25, 2026. “Current range” is York’s published planning guidance; “offer condition” is the final average currently needed to keep an offer. Neither is a guaranteed Fall 2027 cut-off.

What actually determines York admission
The ranges above are current planning evidence, not guaranteed cut-offs, and they span 18 percentage points across York’s programs. Data Science, Kinesiology and Health Science, and Actuarial Science currently sit at a 70–74% final-average offer condition, while Direct-Entry Nursing needs 86% and Schulich BBA needs 88% plus a mandatory leadership profile, video interview, and timed writing exercise. Computer Science reviews prerequisite math within the average rather than on a pass/fail basis, requiring a 75% math average with no math prerequisite below 65%, on top of its 78% final-average condition.
