University of Calgary Acceptance Rate: What Official Data Shows
UCalgary does not publish an acceptance rate. Its own Fall 2026 undergraduate application FAQ says so directly, and its public Fact Book does not expose an applicant, offer, or registrant funnel either. Here is exactly what UCalgary does and does not make public, with the estimated competitive averages it publishes by program instead.

UCalgary’s own statement
UCalgary’s Fall 2026 application FAQ, under the question “What is the competitive admission average for my program?”, states:
“The University of Calgary publishes estimated competitive admission averages ranges. This is because averages can change depending on the applicant pool and throughout the cycle. You can find the estimated competitive admission averages for each program on our Explore Programs webpages. We encourage students to rely on these estimates when choosing programs and believe students will be competitive for admission if they are within our estimated range.”
The page never uses the term “acceptance rate.” UCalgary frames admission entirely around per-program estimated ranges, not a percentage of applicants admitted.
What official counts exist — and what doesn’t
UCalgary’s Office of Institutional Analysis publishes a public Fact Book dashboard covering enrolment, credentials awarded, course offerings, and workforce metrics for the last five years. It does not include an applicant, offer, or registrant funnel. More detailed admissions dashboards exist internally but are explicitly labelled “Internal Reports (Authorized UCalgary Users Only)” and require an internal UCalgary account — they are not publicly reachable.
Two sources that supply this kind of data for Ontario universities do not apply to UCalgary: Alberta is not part of OUAC (Ontario’s application service), and Common University Data Ontario (CUDO) has no Alberta counterpart. Rather than substitute an unofficial number, this guide reports plainly that no official application, offer, or registration count is publicly available for UCalgary.
What actually determines UCalgary admission
UCalgary publishes estimated competitive admission-average ranges on individual program pages instead of one university figure. Some programs, like Engineering and Business, decline to publish any number at all.
