University of Calgary Acceptance Rate: Fall 2027 Admission Averages
For Fall 2027, UCalgary estimates competitive averages from the high 70s (English) to the high 90s (Neuroscience) for Ontario applicants. For Fall 2027, UCalgary’s own program pages list estimated competitive admission averages for Ontario applicants from the high 70s (English, Film Studies, International Relations) to the high 90s (Neuroscience). UCalgary publishes these averages instead of an acceptance rate, and it does not post applicant or offer counts. The averages are the best guide to your chances, so this page lists them by program and explains how to read them.
The short answer
- UCalgary publishes estimated competitive averages, not an acceptance rate. It does not post applicant or offer counts.
- For Fall 2027, Ontario applicants see averages from the high 70s (English, Film Studies, International Relations) to the high 90s (Neuroscience).
- Psychology (BSc), Kinesiology, Biological Sciences and Engineering (common first year) sit at low 90s for Fall 2027.
- Accounting and Finance (Haskayne School of Business) sit at high 80s for Fall 2027.
- Nursing (BScN, main campus) lists 82% as the lottery-eligibility threshold for Fall 2027, not a guarantee.

Fall 2027 estimated averages by program
Each UCalgary program page shows an “estimated competitive admission average” for each school system. These are the figures for Ontario high school applicants applying between October 1, 2026 and March 1, 2027.

How to read these numbers
Every figure above is UCalgary’s own estimate, copied from its program pages on October 8, 2026. We did not calculate any of them. UCalgary works out your admission average from five program-specific Grade 11 or 12 courses, with at least one at the Grade 12 level.
What they are not: an estimated average is not a guaranteed cut-off, and it is not an acceptance rate. The Schulich School of Engineering’s FAQ says each year’s final admission GPA is set by the end of the admission cycle, based on that year’s competition. Nursing is different again: 82% makes you eligible for a lottery, not an offer.
What official counts exist
UCalgary’s Office of Institutional Analysis publishes a public Fact Book covering enrolment, credentials awarded, course offerings and workforce for the last five years. It has no applicant, offer or registrant counts. The office’s other reports and dashboards “are accessible to authorized UCalgary users” only.
Two sources that supply this kind of data for Ontario universities do not apply to UCalgary: Alberta is not part of OUAC (Ontario’s application service), and Common University Data Ontario (CUDO) has no Alberta counterpart. Rather than print an unofficial number, this guide sticks to UCalgary’s own estimates.
