University of Calgary admission requirements and deadlines
UCalgary usually looks at five approved Grade 12-level courses. These include every prerequisite for the program you chose. The requirements use Alberta course names. So Ontario and international applicants should pick their own curriculum in the university's live admissions tool. Do not guess at course equivalencies.
UCalgary posts estimated competitive averages. It does not post one percentage for all of UCalgary. Read the UCalgary acceptance-rate evidence for the university's statement. It also has the program data that is available.

UCalgary's current dates page lists one March 1 application deadline for fall undergraduate admission. This applies to domestic and international applicants alike. Documents are due March 15. The source reviewed here does not separately label those dates as Fall 2027. They are planning checkpoints. They are not permission to ignore the live page when the next application opens.

Early admission on four courses

UCalgary can give early admission using four approved courses. These are calculated from Grade 11 (20-level) grades, or 30-level grades where available. Admitted students must keep the admission average required in the year of application. They must also graduate and complete all 30-level course requirements.

Schulich engineering course pattern

Engineering requires English Language Arts 30-1, Mathematics 30-1, Mathematics 31, Chemistry 30, and Physics 30. This is the Alberta pattern. A biology-based route substitutes Biology 30 for Physics 30. That route has conditional acceptance tied to completing the Summer Bioengineering Institute.

Nursing threshold-plus-lottery selection

From Fall 2026, main-campus BScN applicants who reach an 82% incoming average enter a lottery rather than competing on average alone. The change does not affect the Medicine Hat College, Indigenous Community, or Rural Community routes.

Education also has higher faculty-specific minimums. Approved prior study can satisfy English proficiency in some cases. TOEFL's score scale changed in January 2026. So use the current calendar for the exact route attached to your application.
