Laurentian's minimum average
For high school students from Canadian provinces and territories other than Quebec, Laurentian calculates your average from the best grades in the courses your program requires. You need at least 70% to be admissible to an undergraduate program.
Quebec CEGEP graduates with a DEC (college diploma) need at least 65%, and applicants from a Canadian college of applied arts and technology need a 65% average after at least one year of study. Limited-enrolment programs ask college applicants for more.

Rolling and competitive admission
Laurentian reviews most applications as soon as they're complete and usually decides within 3 to 5 weeks, depending on volume.
| Type of program | How Laurentian decides |
|---|---|
| Most undergraduate programs | Rolling admission: files reviewed as they're completed, with a decision usually within 3 to 5 weeks |
| Nursing, Architecture, Indigenous Social Work | Rolling competitive admission: seats go to the strongest averages in the current pool until the program is full |
| Programs with portfolios or extra forms | Rounds: offers come after the supplemental deadline, not before |
In the competitive programs, meeting the minimum doesn't guarantee a place, and the threshold can rise as more applications arrive. Laurentian encourages qualified applicants to apply early.

What official counts exist
Laurentian's December 4, 2025 release on preliminary Fall 2025 enrolment says total headcount held steady year over year. Domestic enrolment rose 8% (undergraduate up 7% and graduate up 11%), international enrolment fell 28%, and 27% of students were in French-language degree programs.
Those are enrolment changes, not admissions figures. Laurentian doesn't publish how many people applied or got offers, so we don't publish a Laurentian acceptance percentage.
