Laurentian Residences: 2026-27 Fees and Buildings Compared
Laurentian University in Sudbury reserves two residences for first-year students: University College, a traditional dorm, and Single Student Residence (SSR), with shared apartments. For September 2026 to April 2027, a double room costs $7,115 at University College or $7,901 at SSR, before the required meal plan. Each building takes a $500 deposit, and fall students had to apply by June 1, 2026.

2026-27 room fees (September to April)
Room fees don't include food. A meal plan is required in every building except the Mature Student Residence; the cheapest residence plan costs $4,585 for the year.

Dorm or apartment
- University College is dorm-style: you share a room with a roommate and use a common kitchen, lounge and public washrooms on your floor.
- SSR, East and West are shared apartments with a kitchen, living and dining area, private bathroom and storage room. Most rooms are doubles.
- The Mature Student Residence has single-bedroom apartments.
- Every building has free Wi-Fi, laundry, study lounges and 24/7 security. Residence also has an exercise room, a convenience store and a doctor's office.
- Huntington Residence is run independently of Laurentian Residence.
How to apply
- Apply to Laurentian and set up your myLaurentian account first.
- Complete the Residence Application in the myLaurentian Portal and rank your preferred buildings. You apply again every academic year.
- Fall students had to apply by June 1, 2026.
- If you're offered a room, the email lists your fees, payment dates and the date to accept. Accept in the portal by that date or you risk losing the offer.
- You choose your meal plan during the residence application, and it's billed to your account.
