Lakehead's minimum average
For Ontario high school students, Lakehead asks for the OSSD (Ontario Secondary School Diploma), six Grade 12 U or M courses including the program's prerequisites, and a 70% overall final average across your top six. It says programs where qualified applicants outnumber spaces may need a higher average, and that meeting the minimum doesn't guarantee admission.

When Lakehead makes offers
Lakehead extends offers on a rolling basis throughout the admissions cycle, and most undergraduate applicants hear within 4 to 6 weeks of a complete application. For current Ontario high school students, offers come in rounds as schools send grades.
| Round | When | Grades normally used |
|---|---|---|
| Early round | December | Grade 11 marks |
| First round | March | Grade 12 first-term final marks |
| Second round | May | Grade 12 first-term finals plus second-term midterms |
| Final round | July | Grade 12 first-term and second-term final marks |
Offers for limited-enrolment programs, including Nursing, Post Diploma Engineering and Social Work, begin in early February and continue through the spring.

The last averages Lakehead published
Lakehead's most recent public Common University Data Ontario (CUDO) return is the 2018 edition. Its entering-average table covers full-time first-year students from Ontario high schools in Fall 2016. That's ten years old, so treat it as history, not as this year's bar.
| Program | Overall entering average, Fall 2016 |
|---|---|
| Science | 83.7% |
| Nursing | 83.6% |
| Engineering | 81.9% |
| Education | 79.9% |
| Arts | 77.9% |
| Business and Commerce | 77.8% |
| All programs | 80.4% |
The same table shows 4.1% of these students entered with 95% or higher and 10.1% with less than 70%. CUDO doesn't count offers, so even current CUDO data wouldn't give an acceptance rate.
