Lakehead Gym: Hangar, Fieldhouse Hours and Intramurals
Lakehead students registered in courses at the Thunder Bay campus get an athletics membership as part of their university fees. It covers three connected buildings: the Wolf Den, the C.J. Sanders Fieldhouse and the Hangar. In the school year (September 8 to April 30) the facilities are open 6 a.m. to 10 p.m. on weekdays and 8 a.m. to 10 p.m. on weekends.

The three buildings
Weight and cardio rooms and changerooms are available whenever the centre is open. The field, gyms, track, aerobics studio and pool keep open-hours schedules around classes and varsity events, so check before you go.

School-year hours
Hours change on holidays such as Thanksgiving Monday, Christmas, New Year's Day, Family Day and Good Friday.

Your membership
- If you're registered in Thunder Bay courses, your membership is in your fees.
- In summer, when you're not taking courses, students can buy a membership at a discounted rate.
- Lockers cost extra and need a combination lock. Athletics parking is $1.50 an hour to a $6.50 daily maximum.

Intramurals
Buy an Intramural Sport Pass and register teams in the Fusion Play app. Fall 2026 league dates fall between September 20 and November 18, and players can join a team until the October 31 roster deadline at 11:59 p.m. Leagues need a minimum number of teams to go ahead.
