University of Regina Science admission requirements for 2027

For Fall 2027 planning, Regina Science's current regular-entry minimum is 70%. Ontario applicants need ENG4U, MHF4U and two of Biology, Calculus and Vectors, Chemistry, Earth and Space Science or Physics. Computer Science has a separate 80% minimum. Science Qualifying has its own conditions for lower marks or a missing subject.

Choose the Science degree you would want to finish

Regina's Faculty of Science brings several fields under one faculty. You can study subjects such as Biology, Chemistry, Mathematics, Physics or Geology. Those degrees share a faculty entry route, but they don't have identical course plans. Think about the kind of work you enjoy in class. A degree built around living systems can involve different labs and early courses from one built around mathematical models.

This guide owns broad Science entry and the qualifying route. The existing Regina Computer Science guide owns that separate program. Its higher minimum is printed on the same admission page. Don't select general Science as if it were a guaranteed way around the CS rule. A later change of program is a new academic decision, with the rules in force when you seek it.

Use the Regina university hub to compare the wider school. Then read the course list for a few possible Science degrees. That turns a broad faculty choice into a useful first-year plan. You don't need a settled career to compare subjects, but you should know which early university courses keep your main options open.

Check the four Ontario subjects and the two-maths limit

The current Ontario list names English 12U, ENG4U, and Advanced Functions 12U, MHF4U. It then asks for two of Biology, Calculus and Vectors, Chemistry, Earth and Space Science or Physics. Those are the published choices for the final faculty assessment. A 4U course is university preparation. The broader approved-course table includes other subjects, but it doesn't say every one can fill this specific science pair.

Computer Science appears in the wider approved table. It is not named in Ontario's required pair. Saskatchewan's list and the international list do name it. Keep that difference visible when you plan school subjects. Don't swap in ICS4U solely because a different province permits its own Computer Science course. Ask Regina to confirm any course that isn't on your own applicant list.

Regina also limits the calculation to two different maths courses. Advanced Functions plus Calculus can fill those two places. A third strong maths mark doesn't make a missing required science disappear. Write out the assessed subjects with their actual codes. The course planner can hold other universities beside them. Each university still decides the set it will assess.

Separate the 70% minimum from a future admitted average

The official faculty guide states 70% average required for regular Science. It doesn't publish a winning Fall 2027 range or a mean for that entering class. A minimum describes the standard for the stated route. It isn't an acceptance rate, and it doesn't forecast your own offer. Check that you have the subjects as well as the average before deciding the route fits.

The page doesn't give an individual percentage floor for each Ontario Science prerequisite. Don't relabel 70% as a separate English, maths or Biology minimum without a source. It is the faculty's average requirement. Any conditions in your actual offer still matter. An early review of Grade 11 results is also distinct from the final assessment after graduation.

Our Top 6 calculator is useful for schools that assess six Ontario courses. Regina's current Science list has four. A six-course result can therefore answer a different question from Regina's faculty calculation. Keep the subject set with the result, and ask admissions how repeated courses or an unusual school record will be treated.

Understand Science Qualifying and the source difference

The current additional-information section describes two Science Qualifying cases. One has all required subjects and an average from 65% to 69.99%. The other is missing one required subject but has 70% on the remaining courses. Qualifying status has conditions; it isn't the same as regular entry. Ask the faculty about the missing course, advising and the steps needed to move into fully qualified study.

The Saskatchewan page also retains a paragraph referring to five required subjects and the remaining four. Its displayed current list contains four subjects, and the later additional-information section uses the broader remaining-courses wording. We have not silently picked a denominator. The 2026-27 calendar flags Fall 2027 admission changes, but its linked four-course chart returned 404. The readable faculty lists are the evidence for the current table here.

Computer Science is expressly excluded from Science Qualifying. The same page dates its 80% minimum from Fall 2025. If CS is your intended degree, read that program's conditions rather than treating qualifying Science as an assured transfer path. Recheck the unresolved subject-count wording with the faculty on November 1, 2026, and before relying on a qualifying assessment.

Match Saskatchewan and international school records

Saskatchewan applicants need Secondary Level or Adult 12 standing. The faculty list names English Language Arts 30, Pre-Calculus 30 and two of its approved senior maths or science choices. Those include Biology, Calculus, Chemistry, Computer Science, Earth Science and Physics. Eligible Fransaskois or Immersion applicants have the listed French substitutions. Use the instructions for your actual school stream rather than adding an English course from an older calendar by default.

International applicants need both the country credential and the faculty subjects. The Science list requires senior Language Arts, Pre-Calculus and two named maths or science subjects. A national school-leaving award alone doesn't show those courses are present. Submit the requested records and translations. If your schooling combines countries or curricula, ask how the full record will be assessed instead of making a percentage conversion yourself.

Proof of English skills is a further check. Regina accepts named prior-study routes and approved tests under its language policy. A school English prerequisite and a language-test exemption serve different purposes. Read the current policy for the evidence you plan to submit. The faculty makes the academic decision, so citizenship or the title of a school course isn't a substitute for checking that evidence.

Apply through Regina and track the right document dates

Apply through Regina's own application system. This is not an OUAC choice. The standing domestic schedule lists March 15 for early fall applications and August 15 as the final date. The official pages don't attach a new intake year to those entries. Keep them as the latest annual guidance for Fall 2027 planning, then confirm the dates when the target-cycle instructions appear.

For early conditional domestic entrants, the current final-record date is August 1. The general fall document date is August 15. Official transcripts must arrive from the issuing body. International instructions instead say that August 15 can change with application volume and recommend applying at least three months before the start. Their conditional final records follow the stated last-day-to-add rule and the personal checklist. Don't import one applicant group's deadline into another file.

No mandatory general Science essay, portfolio, interview or Casper test is listed in the checked faculty sources. Follow the tasks in your actual file if Regina requests something further. The Canadian deadline comparison can help keep other schools beside Regina. Recheck the yearless dates and any new documents notice on November 1, 2026.

Plan labs, co-op and later professional study separately

Science study can include lab work, field learning and research. The kind of experience depends on your degree and course choices. Optional co-op alternates eligible study with paid work terms. Admission to a work stream and an employer's decision are further steps. Read your department's current process before counting on a specific job or using future wages to fund first year.

Regina also explains routes toward later professional study. You can plan university courses for a destination such as Pharmacy or Optometry while working toward a degree. That is preparation for a separate admission process. A first-year Science offer does not reserve a place at another school. Choose a degree you could value even if your eventual professional plan changes, and check each destination's own prerequisites.

The domestic cost reference is explicitly 2026-27. Fees vary by faculty and registered credits, and its housing examples have their own assumptions. It is not approved Fall 2027 tuition or an international quote. Read the hub's funding section and housing section. Your next step is the exact school subject check, followed by the route and deadline checks that fit your file.
