Course requirements
Manitoba's direct entry page lists four Grade 12 courses for the Bachelor of Kinesiology: English 40S, Applied Mathematics 40S or Pre-Calculus Mathematics 40S, one of Biology, Chemistry or Physics 40S, and one more academic 40S course. Manitoba also asks all applicants for five Grade 12 university preparatory credits. If you study in Ontario, use the province selector on the same page to see how Manitoba reads your 4U and 4M courses.
First year includes BIOL 1410 Anatomy of the Human Body, so biology is useful preparation, but Manitoba accepts chemistry or physics as your one required science.
Choose a science course you perform well in. Your strongest science will contribute to the 85% average Manitoba uses to make decisions. For math, Manitoba accepts either Applied or Pre-Calculus Mathematics 40S.

The average you need
Manitoba states a minimum average of 85% across the four required courses for kinesiology. Each individual course must score at least 60%. The 85% is calculated over the four courses listed: English, the math, the science and the extra academic course.
Manitoba publishes this minimum, not an average of admitted students, so treat 85% as a floor.
Aim for 85% or higher in all four required courses. If one course drops below 60%, you may become ineligible, so protect your weakest subject early. Manitoba says only grades received by the May 1 transcript deadline can be used to work out eligibility for direct entry programs.

No essay or interview
Manitoba's kinesiology program page lists no supplementary application, essay, interview or Casper test. Your grades in the required courses decide eligibility. You also send transcripts and, if needed, proof of English proficiency.
This makes kinesiology at Manitoba accessible to many students. The only gate is your average in the four required courses.

Dates for Fall 2027
Manitoba's pages do not agree. The kinesiology program page lists August 1 as the domestic deadline for fall direct entry. The direct entry requirements page lists March 1 for all other direct entry programs in its Fall 2026 table and has not posted Fall 2027 dates yet. Both pages say final high school grades must arrive by May 1. Confirm with Manitoba admissions, and apply by March 1 so you are also considered for entrance scholarships.

Tuition for 2026-27
Manitoba charges by the credit hour. For domestic students in kinesiology, the rate is $186.10 per credit hour for 2026-27. This is the base tuition. On top of this, you pay $4.75 per credit hour in endowment fees (a fund for university priorities) and $0.73 per credit hour in student organization fees (funding for student clubs and unions). All undergraduate students also pay mandatory fees for library ($28.96 per term), registration ($28.96 per term), technology services ($132.86 per term), sport and recreation ($109.96 per term for full time study), and student services ($28.96 per term), totaling about $330 per term in general fees.
The program is 120 credit hours over four years, which typically breaks down to 30 credit hours per year or 15 credit hours per term. Multiply $186.10 by 15 to estimate your term tuition for the program: about $2,791.50 per term. Add the endowment ($71.25 per term) and student organization fees ($10.95 per term). Add the approximately $330 in general mandatory fees. Your total per term comes to roughly $3,203.
This is our estimate from Manitoba's 2026-27 rates, not a university figure. Rates change each year, and residence, meals, books and living costs are extra.

Entrance awards and scholarships
Manitoba gives general entrance scholarships to high school students based on their admission average. Manitoba says the average needed for each level and the amount are set each year.
At 95% or higher, you earn the Queen Elizabeth II award of $3,000. From 90% to 94.99%, you earn the Guertin Centennial award of $2,000. From 85% to 89.99%, you earn the Hogg Centennial award of $1,000. Manitoba's awards page lists March 1, 2027 for admission application and entrance scholarship consideration.
Because the kinesiology minimum is 85%, an admitted student who also meets the scholarship rules may reach the $1,000 level. Check the awards page for the current conditions.
Manitoba also lists application-based awards such as the BMO Leader of Tomorrow and Schulich Leader Scholarships. Schulich Leader nominee applications are due January 27, 2027. Manitoba says new students receive over $3.5 million in entrance scholarships each year.
