UManitoba Course Registration: Time Tickets and Deadlines

First-year University of Manitoba students plan courses with the First Year Planning Guide and register in Aurora, the student system. Your time ticket, the earliest date and time you can register, appears in Aurora's Prepare for Registration page. For fall 2026, the last day to add fall classes was September 23 and the voluntary withdrawal deadline for fall courses is November 24.

Plan your first-year courses

  • Accept your offer of admission first. Then review the First Year Planning Guide or visit the First Year Centre.
  • Check your program's requirements in the Academic Calendar. Some courses must be taken in order or together.
  • Search the Class Schedule in Aurora for each term's days, times, rooms and labs. The Course Catalogue lists courses that may not run this term.
  • Check each class's instructional method. Some online courses still have in-person exams.

Find your time ticket and holds

On the Registration card in Aurora, choose Open Registration Dashboard, then Prepare for Registration. Your registration date and time shows in a blue box. A green check mark means you can register; a red mark means a hold or other problem to fix, often with an academic advisor.

Register for classes

  • Open Register for Classes, search by subject or course and click Add. Classes stay pending until you click Submit.
  • Register for a lecture and its lab or tutorial on the same worksheet.
  • If a class is full, you may be able to join its waitlist.
  • Some faculties and schools don't use Aurora for registration and send their own instructions.

Fall 2026 deadlines

Courses with irregular dates have their own drop and withdrawal dates, shown on the Important Dates tab of the class in Aurora.
