BA or BSc: which to pick
Laurier says the BA explores social, developmental and clinical psychology and suits careers in education, counselling or social services. The BSc focuses on neuroscience, perception and cognition through lab-based learning and suits research or healthcare careers.
On the OUAC you pick Psychology BA, Psychology and Policing BA, Psychology and Neuroscience (BSc) or Psychology BSc as your subject of major interest. You can also add a Management Minor as a program enhancement. Laurier offers Psychology in Brantford and Milton too, so make sure you pick the Waterloo listing if that is the campus you want.

Specializations and pathways
BA students can add a Mental Health and Well-Being Specialization or a Research Specialization, which includes a fourth-year thesis. Community Psychology and Developmental Psychology are offered as minors or specializations. Laurier notes that you need more study after your degree to become a practising psychologist or psychotherapist.
Laurier also lists medical school pathways with preferred status at the American University of the Caribbean School of Medicine and St. George's University School of Medicine. These are optional routes that need separate applications.

Experience outside the classroom
Laurier lists several ways to apply what you learn. BA students take required Community Service-Learning courses that put class work into practice with local groups. You can study abroad for an academic term. Students can also join clubs such as the Laurier Psychology Society, the Faculty of Science Students' Association or the Society for Undergraduate Research and Outreach.
You can pair Psychology with another major such as Biology or Computer Science. Popular minors include Criminology, Law, Education, Leadership, User Experience Design and Game Design and Development. An academic advisor can help you plan a minor once you are at Laurier.
