UVic Nursing admission requirements for Fall 2027

UVic does not offer Year 1 of this BSN on its own campus. Its partners are Camosun, Aurora College, College of the Rockies and Selkirk. The partner college decides first-entry admission. On the Victoria route, you attend Camosun for the first five academic semesters and required practice periods. You later apply to UVic for the final semesters. Choosing a generic UVic degree application isn't a way to reserve a first-year Nursing seat.

Camosun describes 2.5 years at the college and 1.5 years with UVic. The School of Nursing also explains that students at the other partner sites can complete the degree in their local community. Don't assume every college partner requires a physical move to Victoria after the first stage. This page details Camosun's published Fall 2027 entry rules, while each other partner owns its own first-entry conditions and location arrangements.

The UVic school hub gives wider campus context. The existing UVic Science guide concerns a different BSc route. It does not provide a general transfer shortcut into Nursing. Read the partner-college rules first, then the later UVic requirements. That order helps you plan the right application, course preparation and costs for the degree you actually want.

Camosun's current BSN table sets 73% in each listed high school subject area. The senior requirements include English 12, Anatomy and Physiology 12 or Biology 12, and an approved Academic 12 course. Junior preparation includes Life Sciences 11 or Biology 11, Chemistry 11 and approved social studies at Grade 11 or 12. You also need an accepted maths course and Grade 12 graduation or its equivalent.

The maths choices are Foundations of Math 11, Pre-Calculus 11, Foundations of Math 12 or Pre-Calculus 12, each at 73%. Those are BC course names. Camosun's table links to outside-BC course equivalents, but that linked mapping was not verified in this review. Ask admissions to confirm your actual course before treating an Ontario maths or Biology code as interchangeable. A UVic Science course list does not decide Camosun's equivalency assessment.

The page lists Adult Basic Education and named university-transfer alternatives as well. Several use B as the minimum letter grade. That can matter if you are upgrading or have already studied after high school. Use the specific accepted course and grade, rather than guessing a general GPA conversion. Camosun also says applicants not in good standing at Camosun, UVic or another healthcare program are ineligible. Report previous study accurately.

The 73% requirement is an eligibility floor for each listed subject. It is not a published offer cutoff for the whole program. Camosun calculates competitive entry ranking from four courses: English 12, Anatomy and Physiology 12, one approved Academic 12 and Life Sciences 11 or Biology 11. The accepted ABE or university alternatives can also be used under the stated conditions. Meeting the subject floors doesn't guarantee a seat.

The checked source does not give a winning Fall 2027 average or a prior admitted-average range. We don't turn the 73% subject floor into either one. Chemistry, maths and social studies still have to meet the requirements even though they aren't named among the four ranking courses. Keep an eligibility checklist and the ranking course set separately, so a high result in one subject doesn't hide an unmet condition in another.

Don't label a six-course result as your Camosun admission GPA. If improving your record is part of the plan, ask which accepted course result will actually be used and when it must be complete. Camosun's program page names the next intake as Fall 2027. Its application window runs from October 1, 2026 to January 15, 2027. The document window runs from October 1, 2026 to January 31, 2027. Apply through EducationPlannerBC using the college route. UVic's general January 31 application date belongs to its own degree applications and does not extend this January 15 Camosun closing date.

The source says transcripts must arrive within the document submission period. It says records received before or after the window will not be considered. If you are reapplying, new official transcripts are required, with an exception for the Camosun transcript when the coursework was completed there. Keep the record-delivery task separate from submitting the form. A previous application isn't proof that the new file contains everything required for this intake.

Check the program choice and document instructions before paying. Current BC and Yukon high school students can apply in Grade 12 using interim marks. Those marks can qualify them on a provisional basis. Other students face a different rule. Courses can't stay in progress after the January 31 document deadline. The stated exception is for current BC/Yukon high school students. If you're in Ontario, ask how your June graduation and unfinished courses fit. Check this before you rely on Fall 2027 entry.

This distinction can change the realistic timing of your plan. The page provides outside-BC and upgrading options, but those do not create an unstated exemption from its completion rule. Ask admissions which records must already be final and whether your particular academic history is eligible. Keep the response with your course plan. Do not assume that applying through a familiar provincial form means every applicant group has the same timing rules.

Camosun lists this BSN route as not open to international students. That is a rule for the college route detailed here; we don't infer an identical policy for every other partner without checking it. The program also requires English proficiency, linked to UVic's accepted evidence and exemptions. Language ability, school English marks and the college's applicant restrictions are distinct checks. An English-taught school record doesn't by itself settle all of them.

The Camosun application requirements include an acknowledgement of the nursing regulator's Requisite Skills and Abilities, called the RSA form. The linked college form asks you to confirm that you have read and understood that document. It is a required process step. The checked program page does not list a Casper test, interview, portfolio or assessed personal essay. Follow any personal college instruction that applies to your file.

Nursing study includes supervised practice and simulated learning. Camosun describes practice during the college semesters and additional spring experiences. This is not a general co-op degree where you can assume an optional paid work term replaces clinical learning. Practice can affect your schedule and travel. Read the current student and placement instructions before planning a large paid-work commitment around the course calendar.

You start with nursing roles, health, science and patient care. Later courses concern acute and chronic illness, then more complex care. The final college stage includes maternity, child health and mental health. You study these fields as part of the degree. You don't earn a professional qualification in each one before graduating. Think about both the science and the work involved. Ask yourself if you want to learn and practise the tasks the college describes.

UVic's current school instructions require completion of semesters 1 through 5 and the required consolidated practice experiences. The published transfer GPA is at least 3.0 on UVic's nine-point scale. Each course must have at least C, which the page describes as 60% to 64%. Those are university-level reference conditions. They don't replace Camosun's school subject floors or promise the rules that will apply when a Fall 2027 entrant reaches this later stage.

The school says its GPA calculation includes repeated and failed courses, including the required English, Biology and electives. College and university GPA scales may not be equivalent. If a course is below the published C floor, it must be successfully repeated before UVic acceptance under the current instructions. Read the complete practice and repeat rules with an adviser at the college. Don't convert 3.0 into an Ontario school average.

Only eligible students from the partner sites can enter the UVic portion. UVic doesn't teach the first five semesters itself. It also says it doesn't offer an accelerated BSN, a shorter route for someone with a degree. You need the required non-nursing electives that can transfer to UVic. Your college helps you prepare the later form. Read the rules before choosing college courses. Check them again before the actual transfer. A general university transfer request alone won't meet the BSN's entry process.

Camosun's page gives a domestic tuition estimate of $12,717, labelled for its entire program, at rates effective September 1, 2026 to August 31, 2027. UVic separately says you pay UVic tuition for semesters 6 through 8. Don't treat the college estimate as a verified all-in four-year bill. Confirm its scope, later university tuition and student charges. Approved Fall 2027 prices are not established by a 2026-27 rate period.

UVic's estimator uses rates effective May 1, 2026. Its financial aid section covers broader funding, while the housing section covers university residence. First confirm where you will study.
