UNB Meal Plans: 2026-27 Infinite Plans and Dining Cash

Most UNB residence students must buy one of three meal plans, the same on both campuses. For 2026-27, the Infinite plan costs $6,262 a year with $100 in dining cash, Infinite Plus $6,462 with $300, and Infinite Max $6,712 with $550. In Saint John, the plan is an all-you-care-to-eat membership at the Baird Dining Room. Elizabeth Parr-Johnston residents don't need a plan.

Compare the 2026-27 plans

The price is the same in Fredericton and Saint John. Fees are split across fall and winter, like residence fees, and the higher plans put the extra dining cash in the fall charge.

Who has to buy a plan

UNB's money matters page says all residents need a meal plan except those in Elizabeth Parr-Johnston Residence, the Fredericton suite building. Students off campus can sign up for a plan too.

One conflict to check: Fredericton's fees page labels Neill House as no meal plan required, but the Neill House listing says a plan is required. Ask Residence before you budget.

How dining works in Saint John

UNB Saint John switched from a declining balance to an all-you-care-to-eat membership. You get unlimited food at designated dining locations during meal periods, at a fixed cost for the year. UNB says the old system left many students running out of money before the year ended.

The Baird Dining Room in the Student Centre serves a meat or vegetarian main for lunch and dinner, plus a grill, a deli, soups and salads, desserts and breakfast options. Chefs will work with you on allergy or cultural food needs.

  • Dining cash comes as one sum at the start of the fall term and is meant for retail spots such as Whitebone Pizzeria and Commons Café.
  • Unused dining cash is forfeited after April 2027. Winter-only residents get half the dining cash, which expires at the end of that term.
  • You can top up through Chartwells, the meal plan provider.
  • Plans are for one person and can't be shared or transferred.
  • Commuters, staff and faculty can buy a voluntary block of meals or pay at the door.

Dining in Fredericton

UNB says its dining halls and cafeterias serve international and vegetarian food, sandwiches, salads and snacks, and that meal plans also work at food outlets around campus.

If you arrive early or stay late outside the residence contract dates, students outside Neill and Elizabeth Parr-Johnston also pay a daily dining rate, set by Chartwells.
