UNB has not published a Fall 2027 cycle. The dates-and-deadlines page carries no 2027 label anywhere, and the calendar in force is the 2026-2027 Admission Regulations. The only year-stamped dates on the admissions and awards pages belong to the Fall 2026 cycle: an April 3, 2026 early-deposit draw, an application-fee waiver window running September 1, 2025 to March 31, 2026, and a January 28, 2026 Schulich nomination deadline.

Because UNB publishes recurring month-and-day deadlines with no year attached, the page never visibly expires. Treat every date as a planning pattern and reconfirm once UNB posts the 2027-2028 calendar.

March 31 for the general fall application, November 15 for the general winter application, March 1 for undergraduate scholarship applications, February 15 for Nursing on both campuses plus the LPN pathways, the Saint John Bachelor of Health Sciences and the Fredericton Bachelor of Philosophy, January 31 for the Saint John concurrent BA/BEd and Bachelor of Social Work, November 15 for Advanced Standing Nursing at the Moncton site, and May 15 to accept an offer, pay the admission deposit and confirm a residence room.

UNB adds that all programs accept applications for fall entry after their deadlines while seats remain, so these are processing priorities rather than hard cut-offs.

UNB takes applications directly through its own portal at apply.unb.ca, not through OUAC. The application processing fee is a non-refundable $65 for Canadian applicants and $125 CAD for international applicants, and UNB waives the Canadian fee for high school students who attend a UNB recruitment event inside a published window. MyCreds transcripts must be sent using the send-to-registered-organization option rather than email, and supplementary forms are required for Education, Kinesiology, Nursing and Leadership Studies.

International students pay a $4,000 tuition and PAL deposit. Deposits are non-refundable, with a documented exception for international students whose study permits are denied.

Fredericton runs ten faculties — Arts, Management, Computer Science, Education, Engineering, Forestry and Environmental Management, Kinesiology, Law, Nursing and Health Sciences, and Science. Saint John runs four — Arts, Business, Nursing and Health Sciences, and Science, Applied Science and Engineering. Computer Science and Engineering are standalone faculties in Fredericton but departments inside SASE in Saint John.

UNB publishes a minimum admission average per program instead and repeats that meeting the minimum requirements does not guarantee admission to any program.

Any UNB acceptance rate you find is third-party modelling. Plan against the published minimum, the per-course grade floors, and the two programs UNB does describe as competitive.

Do not infer a Fredericton or Saint John headcount from the combined total. If campus size matters to your decision, ask each campus recruitment office directly.

UNB states that students must complete six specific high school courses according to their program of choice, and that UNB takes the overall average of the grades achieved in those six courses to calculate the minimum admission average. Where a required Grade 12 course is still in progress, the Grade 11 prerequisite is used to estimate; UNB does not accept mid-term grades. Where several acceptable electives exist, UNB states it will choose the elective courses with the highest grades.

UNB sorts acceptable electives into five groups: Group 1 senior secondary additional or advanced math, biology, chemistry, computer or information technology, French, geography, history, geology, law, political science, science, physics, sociology and environmental studies; Group 2 accounting, business studies and marketing; Group 3 communication, art, music and drama; Group 4 computer assisted drafting and electronics; and Group 5 health or physical education.

Program requirements name the group a course must come from, so two students with identical averages can be assessed differently depending on which group their electives sit in.

The scholarship average is the admission average plus bonus points for completed enriched Grade 11 and 12 courses — AP, IB, Level 1 and similar — where the student achieved 75% or higher. One to three enriched courses earn one bonus point, four to six a maximum of two, seven to nine a maximum of three, and ten or more a maximum of four. UNB states directly that the scholarship average is not rounded: a 79.9% average does not become an 80%.

This is the load-bearing detail behind the guaranteed scholarship: the 80% threshold is measured on the un-rounded scholarship average, not the admission average.

The Bachelor of Arts on both the Fredericton and Saint John campuses and the Fredericton Bachelor of Applied Arts each publish a 65% minimum admission average, with English 4U at a minimum 60%, four Group 1 electives and one Group 1, 2 or 3 elective. Engineering and Software Engineering require English 4U, Math MHF4U, Chemistry SCH4U and Physics SPH4U each at a minimum 70%. Computer Science requires Math MHF4U at 65% and one science at 65%. Nursing requires English 4U, Grade 11 math, Chemistry SCH4U and Biology SBI4U each at 70%. Business Administration requires English 4U and Math MHF4U each at 60%. Geomatics and Forestry require English and math at 70%.

A 78% overall average with a 65% in physics fails Engineering, whose stated minimum average is 75%. The floors are separate gates.

For the Bachelor of Science, the Bachelor of Arts and Science, Medical Laboratory Science, the Saint John Bachelor of Health Sciences and the concurrent science combinations, UNB adds a second rule on top of the 75% overall minimum: the average of the marks in pre-calculus math, chemistry and the best other science course must itself be at least 75%. Students who present only chemistry are considered at the discretion of the faculty.

UNB's Ontario requirements name English 4U everywhere, Math MHF4U wherever senior math including pre-calculus is required, and Biology SBI4U, Chemistry SCH4U and Physics SPH4U for the sciences. UNB states that Math MCB4U and MGA4U are also accepted at the same grade floor, and Nursing, Recreation and Sport Studies, Forestry and Environmental Management instead accept Grade 11 math MCF3M or MCR3U. The Saint John Bachelor of Health Sciences requires Grade 11 physics SPH3U rather than SPH4U.

UNB's program-specific requirements page publishes a 75% minimum admission average for the BSc in Forestry and the BSc in Environment and Natural Resources. The Ontario view of UNB's own admission requirements tool publishes a minimum admission average of 70% for both Forestry and Environmental Management with the same course list. The two first-party pages have not been reconciled.

Plan against 75% — the higher of the two published numbers — and confirm with the Registrar's Office before treating a 70-74% average as sufficient.

The dates-and-deadlines page and the 2026-2027 Admission Regulations both publish December 1 for the Fredericton Bachelor of Education, the School Years Program and the Bachelor of Education in Early Childhood Education. The Canadian high school and transfer page and the international application deadlines page both publish December 15 for the same programs.

Work to December 1. It is the earlier of the two dates and it is the one carried by both the calendar of record and the central dates page.

The dates-and-deadlines page and the calendar regulations both publish February 15 for the Saint John Bachelor of Health Sciences. The admission requirements tool entry for Health Sciences instead states an application deadline of mid-January, with interviews conducted and notifications by late March.

Prepare for mid-January. If the earlier date is the operative one, a February 15 submission is already late; if it is not, an early submission costs nothing.

UNB states that all applicants to nursing programs are required to write the Acuity Insights Casper test, an online open-response situational judgement test, and that admission decisions are based on the applicant's admission average or GPA at 60% weight and the Casper score at 40% weight. The Bachelor of Nursing runs at both Fredericton and Saint John, with a separate Advanced Standing route at a Moncton site.

A 40% weight on a situational judgement test is the single largest departure from a pure-average admission model anywhere in UNB's undergraduate intake.

UNB exempts applicants who studied at a Canadian high school for at least one year — four years for Nursing and Health Science programs — with a minimum 70% in Grade 12 English such as ENG4U or EAE4U, applicants from a listed set of English-speaking countries under the same one-year rule, and applicants offering GCE A Level English Literature at C, IB English A at 5, or India CBSE and CISCE Year 12 English at 75%. Conditional admission is available through PAEP in Fredericton and Saint John College in Saint John.

The four-year rule for Nursing and Health Sciences is far stricter than the one-year general rule and catches applicants who moved to Canada for senior high school only.

Transfer students must take at least 50 per cent of the credits required for the degree at UNB, and applicants not eligible for re-admission to their last university for academic reasons will not be admitted. AP scores of 3, 4 or 5 are accepted with some courses requiring 4 or 5, under institution codes 0976 for Fredericton and 9068 for Saint John. IB credit requires Higher Level results of 5, 6 or 7, with physics requiring 6 or 7. A-Level credit typically requires grade C or above, with Economics, Business and Mathematics requiring B or above; AS-Level does not qualify.

Transfer-credit awards differ by campus for the same AP subject, so confirm the award against the campus you are entering rather than the university generally.

UNB publishes minimum admission averages only. No first-party page reviewed for this guide publishes an admitted-student average, a mid-range band, or a competitive average for any program. The only competitiveness language UNB attaches to a specific route is for Engineering, described as competitive with second-year discipline entry based on first-year performance, and for the Saint John Bachelor of Health Sciences, where the number of seats is described as limited.

Because no competitive average exists first-party, aim well above the published minimum for Engineering, Nursing and Health Sciences rather than treating 75% as a target.

UNB has not published program deadlines with a 2027 label. The February 15, January 31, December 1 and November 15 program dates all appear inside the 2026-2027 Admission Regulations and on an undated dates page, so they describe the pattern rather than a confirmed Fall 2027 calendar.

Reconfirm each program deadline when UNB posts the 2027-2028 calendar, and do not assume the December 1 versus December 15 Education contradiction will be resolved in your favour.
