Ontario Tech Meal Plans and Campus Dining, 2026-27

Food at Ontario Tech runs through two separate systems. Residence meal plans are sold by Chartwells and give you all-you-care-to-eat meals at the South Village Dining Hall. They're mandatory in South Village and optional in Simcoe Village. On campus, Ontario Tech Food Services runs Hunter's Kitchen with Dana Hospitality, alongside Subway, Tim Hortons and other outlets. Plan prices below are for 2026-27.

The four 2026-27 meal plans

Every plan gives you unlimited meals in the South Village Dining Hall, plus flex dollars for other purchases. The 7-day plans cover every day of the week. The 5-day plans cover Monday to Friday only.

The full-year plans cost less than buying two one-semester plans. Two 7-day semesters add up to $8,798, which is $849 more than the $7,949 full-year plan. Two 5-day semesters cost $8,098, which is $799 more than the $7,299 full-year plan.

Who has to buy a plan

If you live in South Village, you must buy a residence dining plan. South Village suites have only a small kitchenette with a mini fridge and microwave. Simcoe Village suites have kitchenettes, and full-size fridges in North and Central halls, so a plan is your choice there.

You buy the plan directly from Chartwells, not from the residence or the university. Ordering opens in early June, once you've accepted your residence offer and received your hall type. Plans are non-refundable and non-transferable unless you leave Ontario Tech or move out of residence.

How flex dollars work

The residence meal plan page doesn't list Hunter's Kitchen or the other Ontario Tech Food Services outlets as flex locations. Ask before you count on using flex there.

  • Flex dollars load onto your dining card.
  • The meal plan page says you can spend them at DCEats eateries and kiosks, including Tim Hortons at B-Wing, SSB, the Galleria, C-Wing and Whitby.
  • Unused flex dollars carry over to the next year.
  • If you're not coming back as a registered student, spend them by October 31.

Allergies and dietary needs

Ontario Tech Food Services labels menus for gluten-free, dairy-free, nut-free, vegan, vegetarian, halal and kosher items, and for common allergens. It can't guarantee food hasn't touched an allergen, and ingredient lists are available on request. Email catering.ontech@dexterra.com with questions.

For the residence plans, the meal plan page says the dining hall menus reflect cultural and nutritional needs, with clear labels. It lists a contact for dietary concerns at 905-721-2000 ext. 2737.
