2026-27 monthly rooms and the separate meal plan

Room rates are monthly. Food is a separate academic-year charge.

Residence Life labels rooms 2026-27, subject to final approval, and the $6,520 meal plan subject to final confirmation. The admissions overview instead quotes yearless $6,705 meals. Ask housing to resolve the difference before paying.

Your academic route and fee status answer different questions

Start with the degree on your offer, then check the rate category. Concordia bills undergraduate tuition by credits. The table compares 30 credits across four faculty groups. It doesn't set your required first-year course load. A heavier Engineering schedule or summer courses change the amount. Our Concordia Engineering guide explains that degree's entry requirements.

CEGEP and Canadian high-school applicants use different admission routes. Your past studies can also affect the credits left in your degree. Computer Science lists 90 to 120 credits over three or four years, depending on your background. A 30-credit tuition figure is one year's example, not the full degree price. Check the credit requirement in your admission record before comparing total program costs.

Bachelor's rates don't cover every type of study. Certificates and independent courses have their own categories. Graduate programs use another schedule. The Computer Science requirements guide and John Molson Commerce guide keep admission tasks separate from this cost comparison. Use the Concordia university hub for the broader Montréal overview.

Quebec tuition needs proof, even when you live in Montréal

A local address doesn't by itself settle Quebec tuition status. Eligible Canadians and permanent residents must apply under one of the province's residency situations and submit the required proof. A CEGEP background and Quebec fee status aren't interchangeable labels. Concordia treats you as non-Quebec until the status is established. International students use the separate fee-exemption process rather than applying for Quebec resident status.

For Fall 2026, the proof deadline is December 1, 2026. For Winter 2027, it's April 1, 2027. Those aren't Fall 2027 dates. If approval is still pending when payment is due, pay the amount shown in your account. Concordia says a later approval can credit the difference, but it also rules out retroactive adjustments after the proof deadline. Send the documents within the allowed term.

Your permanent code is another requirement. It's a Quebec student identifier, not proof that you qualify for Quebec tuition. Without a valid code, the listed Fall 2026/Winter 2027 surcharge is $670.19 per credit. Check the Permanent Code Data Form in your Student Centre. Correcting this record and proving residency are separate tasks, even when both affect the same bill.

Earlier cohorts and international exemptions need their own rate

The $432.85 rate is for other-Canada students admitted from Fall 2024. The published earlier-cohort rate is $324.35 per credit in 2026-27. That older rate isn't available simply because a friend pays it. Degree transfers can end grandfathering. A change within the same degree may be treated differently. The current grace period for the old program ends in summer 2029.

Some international students qualify for a different rate through a specific exemption. Eligible French and francophone Belgian bachelor's students pay the Canadian non-Quebec rate under the published agreements. That isn't an automatic Quebec-rate offer. Passports, study documents and the exact exemption category matter. The exemption page sets a last-day-of-classes submission limit and says incomplete or late requests aren't applied retroactively.

The international faculty amounts in this guide are current per-credit prices. They aren't a promise that your whole degree will cost the same each year. The tuition-change page describes annual increases rather than a blanket undergraduate freeze. Check any cohort-specific commitment against your own offer. We haven't multiplied a first-year international price across four future years or assumed the next starting rate.

Student fees don't all follow the tuition credit count

Some compulsory charges follow your credits. Others apply each term or once when you start. The 2026-27 registration charge is $31.10 each registered term. The full-time New Student Program charge is $40 on initial registration. Faculty association fees also differ. A reduced course load won't cut every line by the same share. Read the charge basis before making your own estimate.

For full-time Arts and Science, the public estimator lists $1,768.40 in annual compulsory fees at 15 credits each term. Our calculation of tuition plus that estimate is $12,985.50 + $1,768.40 = $14,753.90. The estimator displays a rounded $14,760 total. Separate health charges still sit outside both figures. Use the components when checking the arithmetic; keep the displayed figure labelled as an estimate.

Co-op membership and certain courses can add charges. The estimator notes exclude some class-specific fees. Arts equipment, laboratory work or another assessed service can therefore change your account. An optional fee levy also has its own opt-out process. You can't remove every student association charge just because you won't use each service. Keep an approved adjustment separate from a hoped-for saving.

Domestic benefits and international medical cover aren't the same plan

Domestic undergraduate health and dental costs $225 for the published year. Telemedicine adds $4.99 for Fall and $9.96 for Winter. Our calculation is $225 + $4.99 + $9.96 = $239.95. The first-year example keeps that whole amount once. Your parent's plan doesn't remove the charges on its own. Use the actual opt-out process during the permitted period.

The fee page says domestic health applies above three credits per term. The estimator notes say three or more. That wording differs for a student taking exactly three credits; ask Birks before using that boundary. It doesn't affect the 15-credit example here. Published 2026-27 opt-out windows are August 20 to September 30, 2026, and January 14 to February 17, 2027.

International students aren't automatically charged the domestic extended plans or telemedicine. They have compulsory Blue Cross basic medical and accident cover instead, unless an exemption is approved. The dated 2026-27 schedule lists $1,164 for 12 months or $873 for nine months. Use your actual coverage period. Buying an unrelated private policy doesn't by itself remove Concordia's insurance charge.

Budget Loyola rent, food and confirmation payments separately

Loyola room prices are monthly, with food charged separately. The example uses the $793 starting single-room price for eight months. Our calculation is $793 x 8 = $6,344. This is a defined planning period, not a promise about the lease you'll sign. A different room or a longer lease changes rent. Read the Concordia residence comparison for building and room choices.

Residence Life lists the 2026-27 mandatory meal plan at $6,520, subject to final confirmation. The admissions cost overview instead shows $6,705 without a year. These official quotes differ. Our example uses the detailed 2026-27 housing quote and flags the conflict. Ask Residence Life for the amount on your offer. The Concordia meal-plan guide owns dining-hall use and plan details.

The $1,500 housing confirmation payment isn't all an extra fee. Concordia applies $1,125 to rent and $375 to infrastructure. The separate housing application costs $100 and is non-refundable. Our calculation adds $100 + $375 = $475 above rent. Adding the whole confirmation payment to the full rent total would count its credited portion twice. Food is included once as a separate line.

What the first-year example includes and leaves out

Our calculation gives $28,332.85 for the listed tuition, fees and housing. It combines a 30-credit other-Canada Arts and Science year, the faculty's compulsory estimate, domestic health charges, eight months of Loyola single-room rent, food and the housing fees. The room and meal rates still carry Residence Life's approval limits. This is a useful comparison, not a final statement from Concordia.

The subtotal leaves out admission application and confirmation payments, the student ID, books, course or co-op extras, travel and personal spending. No card fee is assumed. Concordia publishes broad book and living estimates, but those aren't required charges for this exact program and room. We haven't added an invented allowance or treated a parent's housing support as a university price.

Keep awards outside the sum until your award letter confirms them. The university cost calculator lets you enter your own figures; this guide doesn't imply a Concordia preset. Use the same number of credits and months when comparing another offer. Then add costs from your own course list, transport plans and housing contract. Save both the quoted price and the year it covers.

Payment due dates and final deadlines are different

Concordia's current payment table says Fall fees are due September 1, with a September 30 final deadline. Winter fees are due January 1, with February 15 as the final deadline. Its general statement that the deadline falls 30 days later doesn't match that Winter row. Ask Birks if your account differs. These standing dates have no new intake year. Two-term course fees split between Fall and Winter.

The deadlines page asks for payment to appear on your account by the final day and recommends paying five business days ahead. The payment-method page says a Canadian online bank payment made by the deadline won't incur late fees, though posting takes two to three business days. Those instructions differ. Pay early when you can and keep proof if a payment is still processing.

Credit card payments carry a 2.65% non-refundable convenience fee through the listed service. Pre-authorized debit has no service fee unless returned unpaid. Setting up a debit method isn't an instalment-plan approval. Birks describes payment accommodation for qualifying overdue balances from a prior term. Don't assume that arrangement gives a new first-year student a standard monthly payment plan. Missed deadlines can add a $95 term late fee and monthly interest.

Course refunds and housing cancellation follow separate rules

DNE means Did Not Enter. Withdraw through the proper process by that course's DNE date to qualify for a fee reversal. For Fall 2026 and two-term Fall/Winter courses, the published boundary is September 21, 2026. Winter 2027 courses use January 25, 2027. A later DISC, or Discontinued, withdrawal normally leaves the fees payable. Not attending or not paying doesn't cancel registration.

Academic withdrawal can remain possible after the refund period ends. The table keeps those later dates beside the DNE dates so you can see the difference. An account credit also isn't an automatic bank refund. Concordia has a request process, and other amounts due can affect what you're able to receive. Exceptional retroactive requests have separate criteria and aren't a routine refund route.

Residence Life must receive a separate housing cancellation. Its current yearless Fall bands charge $750 through July 31 and $1,125 from August 1 to lease start. After the lease starts, another month's prorated rent can apply. Withdrawing from courses doesn't end the housing agreement. Undergraduate admission confirmation is separate again: the current fee is $100 and is forfeited if you accept but don't attend.

Fall 2027 automatic awards have new eligibility rules

Concordia confirms a $4,000 Undergraduate Excellence Award for eligible Fall 2027 or Winter 2028 bachelor's entrants. You must be a Canadian citizen or permanent resident finishing school in Canada. The accepted backgrounds are Grade 12, CEGEP, IB or the French Baccalaureate. You must be entering postsecondary study for the first time, except for CEGEP, and enrol in at least 12 credits each term.

Academic thresholds are an A or A+ Grade 12 average, CEGEP CRC 33, IB 35, or French Baccalaureate 16. Concordia calculates the admission average from the courses and grades used in its assessment. There's no separate award application. Read the award letter for all terms. The checked page doesn't promise annual renewal, so we don't turn the entrance amount into four years of funding.

Canada Scholars is an earlier-intake scheme. Its page says Winter 2027 applicants remain eligible and sends Fall 2027 applicants to the new Excellence Award. Don't carry the old renewable grade bands into your new budget. Other faculty entrance scholarships remain competitive; automatic consideration doesn't mean everyone wins. Our Concordia financial-aid section keeps the broader funding overview.

Funding approval doesn't mean the money is already available

Apply for government student aid through the province or territory where you meet its residence rules. Studying in Quebec doesn't automatically move your aid application there. Concordia's out-of-province school code is FUAC. Register in the courses for the terms you're applying for. Waitlisted courses don't count towards the funding load, and co-op credits can't simply replace academic credits in that calculation.

Ontario's rules depend on the study period. Concordia lists an application limit 60 days before exams end for periods of at least 21 weeks, and 40 days for shorter periods. Those are relative rules, not confirmed Fall 2027 calendar dates. Our OSAP guide covers the wider process. Ask financial aid about a planned course drop before it changes your funding or creates an overpayment.

Concordia pays scholarships to the university account after checking registration beyond the course-drop period. Higher-value awards can be split between Fall and Winter. Keep cash available for any earlier commitment or shortfall. The payment page doesn't establish a general OSAP deferral for every first-year student. Get your own account arrangement confirmed instead of assuming a pending aid application changes the deadline.

Confirmed future housing facts don't confirm future fees

Grey Nuns won't be available for 2027-28. Concordia states that directly. Loyola and the independently operated CAMPUS1 MTL are separate choices to investigate. That building update doesn't establish 2027-28 room prices, food costs or a housing guarantee. The checked application page still gives March and May opening dates for 2026. We haven't moved those dates forward a year.

The sources checked October 16, 2026 don't confirm 2027-28 tuition, compulsory fees, health premiums or room-and-meal prices. Fall 2027 and Winter 2028 DNE/refund dates and new Quebec-residency proof deadlines also remain unconfirmed there. Recheck February 1, 2027, then again before accepting a room or making a payment you can't recover. The dated Excellence Award and Grey Nuns change remain confirmed future facts.

The broad cost-of-living page uses 2026 data and gives $15,080 for other-Canada tuition and compulsory fees including health. It isn't tuition alone or the exact selected-faculty calculation shown here. Keep that older broad estimate separate. Use the Canadian application-deadlines guide for admission timing, and your final Student Centre statement for assessed charges. This page covers Concordia in Montréal; Edmonton is a separate university.
